Four films releasing this Friday!
Last week was a Zero release week at the Telugu box office. There is no single straight or dubbing film release giving an extra run for Sankranthi seasons. However it is not the case with this weekend.
As many as four releases – two straight and two dubbing films are testing their luck at box office. The major challenge for these films are to cut short the run of Sankranthi releases and get audience to their theaters.
Naveen and Lavanya Tripati’s LOL and Raj Tharun’s Seethamma Andaalu Ramayya Sitralu are the straight films while Nayantara’s Nenu Rowdy Ne and Siddharth, Trisha and Hansika’s Kalavathi are the dubbing films releasing this Friday.
Merlapaka Gandhi Enjoyed Second Hit Express Raja
It has become an orthodox sentiment factor in Tollywood for all those super hit debutant directors to find it tough in crossing their second hurdle. Many star directors who made their first movies as super duper hits faltered at second obstacle before reviving again with third and fourth films. At a time when Merlapaka Gandhi is also kept in the similar situation, obviously he too would have been a tensed for a moment.
Delivering a breakthrough hit ‘Venkatadri Express’ for hero Sundeep Kishan, heroine Rakul Preet Singh and for himself, Gandhi took some time to sign ‘Express Raja’ with Sharwanand. In fact, this story and script made enough rounds between UV Creations and Annapurna Compound before settling in the former.
Finally, ‘Express Raja’ released in between Sankranti huge competition from three big films viz. ‘Nannaku Prematho, Dictator’ and ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ evolved as a profit making venture for all those financially associated with it. Thus, Gandhi has safely crossed ‘Dwithiya Vighnam’ without much of difficulty. Hope, he is getting ready for the third now.
Hansika Reacts On Both Those Rumors!
Apple beauty Hansika Motwani first won Telugu audience hearts before making Tamil Nadu as her second home. In fact, she is submerged with plenty of offers by Tamil producers and directors which made her to forget Telugu movies for a while. Of course, Hansika answers it humbly showing her readiness to accept Telugu projects, if an interesting script comes her way.
About the cat-fights with Trisha while working for ‘Aranmanai 2’ that is ‘Kalavathi’ in Telugu and the affair she had with Simbu, there were many rumors circulated even today. Hansika showed a bold approach answering those questions too. ‘Trisha and I were best friends from so long time. We respect each other and work in tandem. All the rumors on we had fights on ‘Kalavathi’ sets are just trash.
Coming to Simbu, I do not want to club profession with personal life. I answered many number of times on what went between both of us. This is not the right time to dig the past again,’ Hansika answered during a recent ‘Kalavathi’ promotional interview.
‘Sarrainodu’ to Do 70 Crores Business!
Stylish Star Allui Arjun’s stamina is clearly envisaged with the scintillating pre release business offers showering on the makers. According to the reports, the movie is estimated to get its business done for Rs.45 crores in Telugu states alone. It is also being said that the the movie was quoted for Rs.7.5 crores in Overseas.
Apart from above areas, Allu Arjun has great following in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu too such that record pre biz is expected to be done in these areas. All in all, the pre release business of ‘Sarrainodu’ is estimated to be done around Rs.70 crores.
Boyapati Srinu wields megaphone for this movie. The movie is gearing up for release in the month of April. Rakul Preet Singh and Catherine Tresa have romanced with Allu Arjun in the movie. The movie is being produced by Mega Producer Allu Aravind on Geetha Arts. Thaman is the music director.
Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Khushi 2’ Gets a Musician!
Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s new movie, which happens to be the sequel of ‘Khushi’, appears to be a full length entertainer. SJ Suriya will be directing this movie while Sharat Marar will be producing the movie on North Star Entertainer.
Grapevine is that Anirudh Ravichander,has been roped in as the musician of the movie. Incidentally, Anirudh was chosen as the music director for Ram Charan’s ‘Bruce Lee’ and Trivikram’s ‘A..Aa’. However, he was later replaced with other musicians due to unknown reasons. With Pawan Kalyan’s movie, Anirudh is expected to prove his mettle in Tollywood as well.
Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ is on sets now. The movie’s release date has been zeroed as April 8. Kajal Aggarwal essays female lead of the movie. ‘Naannaku Prematho’s 50 Crores by Third Weekend?
It seems it would be a bit tough task Young Tiger NTR’s ‘Naannaku Prematho’ to surpass Rs.50 crores share mark. Even then, the movie has good chances to be proved as a 50 crores movie in a couple of days.
Reports are that ‘Naannaku Prematho’ collected a share of Rs.46.84 crores at the end of its 12 days run world wide. If at all the movie runs with steady collections till the completion of its third weekend’s run, it can breach the mark of 50 crores, if not, it becomes a Herculean task the movie to cross 50 crores mark.
On othe other hand, it is heard that Karnataka and a few other areas’ collections are being reported with hiked numbers by some media to make sure the movie crossing 50 crores benchmark. However, NTR’s fans believe that no hiked numbers are necessary for their hero’s film to reach the goal and NTR has all capabilities to achieve the task in style.

Naidu, KCR Skip Governor Function: Poll Effect?
Till recently, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao displayed tremendous bonhomie, as if they are bosom friends. They hugged, shook hands with each other and attended functions like Amaravati foundation stone laying and Ayutha Chandi Yagam held at each other’s places.
But with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections round the corner, the two Chief Minister are now trying to avoid each other, since it would send wrong signals to their respective party cadres, especially because the TRS and the TDP-BJP combine are the major rivals in the elections. That is precisely the reason why Naidu and KCR were conspicuous by their absence at the “At Home” party thrown by Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on the 67th Republic Day celebrations on Tuesday. They did not give any reasons for their absence.
When media persons asked the Governor as to why they did not attend the traditional function hosted by him, the Governor said “It is a fact that they have not come and they will be having their own reasons” for staying away, he said. He admitted that last year too they could not make it to the programme.
The Governor, however, made it amply clear that his relations with both the Chief minister are ‘very cordial’. “I have attended the Republic Day function in both the States where the Chief Ministers of the respective States were present and we discussed several issues,” Narasimhan added.

Yet another star joins the list of AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s admirers. Yesterday, popular Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi was in town to participate in IIFA Utsavam and speaking to a popular Telugu media channel in the sidelines of the event, he heaped praises on Babu’s administrative qualities.
Hailing Chandrababu as a visionary, Vivek hoped that Andhra Pradesh will flourish under Babu’s governance. Vivek also said that he was so impressed with Babu’s Smart Village program that he decided to adopt Muthavakuntla in Ananthapur district.

Hyderabad is not KCR’s Jagir: Lokesh
Tdp leader Nara Lokesh on Tuesday said that the Tdp-BJP combine would not tolerate any kind of injustices with the people who hail from other regions. Addressing election meetings in Malkajgiri constituency here, Lokesh alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his son and Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao were intimidating the settlers to get their votes in GHMC elections.
He said rumours were being floated that settlers would be sent back to their native place if TRS loses GHMC elections. He said that the Tdp-BJP combine would not tolerate such threats. Stating that Hyderabad was not “KCR’s Jagir”, he said no force on earth could send back the settlers from city. He said that the settlers had played a major role in development of Hyderabad.
Lokesh said IT and other sectors were development in Hyderabad by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Besides creating lakhs of new jobs, investments worth crores of rupees were brought in through proper planning and execution.
He said that the previous Congress Government only continued the initiatives taken by Tdp Government. However, the TRS Government completely damaged the city’s brand image during its 18-month rule. He assured that the Tdp-BJP combine would restore the city’s lost glory. Tdp floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao and other senior leaders were also present.
Wanted Padma Award for Shankar!
It has been a long wait for India’s top director Shankar’s fans, who sought their favourite director to be honoured with Padma award by the Government of India. Unfortunately, there has been no such recognition for the director from the governments as of now.
This year too, Shankar’s fans hoped the director to receive the honour from the Government. But nothing of that sort was happened. On the contrary, some more celebrities from various film industries across India were conferred with Padma awards. Obviously, fans were annoyed with the developments. They are hoping their favourite director would win Padma Bhushan award next year.

Akhil’s Dances Get Disturbances!
Akhil impressed a big time with his breathtaking dances in his debut movie ‘Akhil’. That’s why, irrespective of the movie’s result, he was heaped with praises from movie lovers. In the meanwhile, Akhil had also decided to showcase his dancing prowess at IIFA Utsavam’ held on 25th of this month.
Akhil, apart from Mega Power Star Ram Charan, underwent rehearsals for his first ever stage performance. Nonetheless, when Akhil was rocking the dance floors for a medley, the songs were stopped playing owing to technical disturbances. This disturbance repeated second time as well. As such, Akhil had to end his dancing skill abruptly. Even then, Akhil enthralled the audiences with his steps.
Akhil’s second venture is yet to go on sets. Although the names of many directors were heard in connection to Akhil’s second venture, Akhil himself ruled out the gossips.
