Fitness-related wearable technology has been one of the most gifted items over the past couple of years, and now Hyderabad will soon have one of its own brands. The Flip, developed by Hyderabad-based entrepreneur Bhairav Shankar, interestingly is worn on the earlobe.
Using magnets instead of clips to help the 8 gm piece stick onto the ear, the Flip uses infrared and an accelerometer (rather than light that regular wrist-based wearables use) to track heart rate variables that give you readings for various verticals, such as blood pressure and body temperature. “We realised that the ear is a good place for a wearable, because you get the heart rate as accurate as an ECG, without wearing a chest wrap. It’s purely cartilage filled with cartilage and very thin skin tissue,” says Bhairav.
Kicking off his entrepreneurial journey with three of his friends from London’s Oxford University — where he graduated with honours in Biomedical Engineering — in 2011, Bhairav now helms a team of five that have developed the Flip.
He, however, has had some discouraging advice from the industry. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this year, he met with top executives from other fitness wearable companies who told him “nobody wants to make a product for the ear because for people, the face is almost sacrosanct. I stuck on because I wanted to finish what we had started, I wanted to see what the logical end would be,” Bhairav says, adding that the team is also developing apps for various purposes for different audiences, like younger people who want to track their fitness levels, and even special apps that can tell when someone is too drowsy to drive and might fall asleep at the wheel, and even predict a heart attack.
“If you’re able to tell someone that they’re about to have a heart attack before they have one, it’s a huge deal. It’s a known fact that if you can treat someone within 20 minutes of a heart attack, he’s going to be fine,” he concludes.
Sampoornesh Babu New Movie Virus
Excepting attending a couple of inaugural functions out of film industry, there is no where Sampoornesh Babu is really visible off late. The new born Burning Star of Tollywood enjoyed a short shelf life with couple of films like ‘Hrudaya Kaleyam, Bandipotu, Where is Vidya Balan, Current Theega’ etc.
In fact, Sampoo’s prominence gradually showed a down fall with all his supporting artist characters bogged down audience expectations. With support from Steven Shankar that is Sai Rajesh, producer cum director of ‘Hrudaya Kaleyam,’ now and then Sampoo tried to show his presence but that too went in vain. Of course, the status of ‘Kobbari Matta’ is also still unknown.
Under these dwindling chances of Sampoo to make a revival, here comes his new movie ‘Www.Virus.com’ with makers eyeing on a February release. Directed by Ramakrishna with Geetha Shah as heroine, we need to wait and see how far this virus can again come alive and spread in Tollywood?
Ram Confident About Nenu Shailaja
Just couple of days before Energetic Hero Ram’s new movie ‘Nenu Shailaja’ is hitting the screens as a New Year gift for Telugu audience, the youngster is looking for a sweet and simple break with this romantic flick. Written and directed by Kishore Thirumala, the very first look of this film’s recently released trailer hints enough on a casual and realistic love story with a new point touched.
‘You can consider ‘Nenu Shailaja’ as a complete different experiment from my side. When audience encourage routine films, even producers and directors feel safe of attempting in the same genre. How can we try new stories and innovative concepts then? Writers will be forced to pen only those scripts and stories which audiences encourage them to do so. As heroes, we too are compelled to repeat the same.
I can safely say audience that ‘Nenu Shailaja’ will be a sure shot new experience. Never in my career have I done such a casual, soft and realistic role. You can fall in love with my character and will be instantly connected. Sathya Raj as heroine Keerthy Suresh father also did a tremendous job,’ Ram explained.
Mahesh Babu Mom into Direction!
Please do not take any literal meaning out of our headline. Mahesh Babu’s on screen mother, Talluri Rameshwari who gave a commanding show in ‘Nizam’ is now planning to take up direction in next two to three months and that too with a Telugu film. The wonderful Black and White generation actress familiar with ‘Seetha Malakshmi’ directed by K Vishwanath then gre so popular in Bollywood.
As per a newspaper input, Rameshwari has done nearly 25 films in Hindi and is happily settled in Mumbai. However, her urge to do more and more projects in native Telugu language us pulling her to Hyderabad very frequently. Despite the response from film industry is not adequate, Rameshwari is also accepting small screen assignments acting in a TV serial ‘America Ammayi.’
‘I am using all my experience in industry and planning to direct a Telugu movie in next two to three months. Hopefully, my wish will be fulfilled and I will let you inform as and when something gets materialized,’ Talluri Rameshwari informed a newspaper.
Amaravati May Create Differences Between Andhraites
During the separate Telangana movement, former Congress leader and the last Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy vehemently opposed the state’s bifurcation and even quit Congress and formed Jai Samaikyandhra Party before the elections.

The ex-CM said that more clarity is needed regarding the capital city. First CD Gifted To Dad As Usual
It’s an unfortunate coincidence that composer Devi Sri Prasad is delivering the music of “Nannaku Prematho” as a gift to his dad, but his dad passed away suddenly, only to receive anything as a gift from now on.
Other day Devi shared that he has this habit of giving the first CD of his films or any other projects to his dad and mom only. In the same sentiment, he’s getting ready to give the final master of Nannaku Prematho to his dad, but he passed away. Shocked by this development, DSP took a while to recover, and he has now gifted the CD to his dad’s huge photo-frame, taking the blessings from him.
More than the songs, background music of Nannaku Prematho would have brought the best of Devi Sri Prasad in the kind of pain he is, which is actually matching the theme of the film. Hope our composer’s wounds would heal soon.
How Can You Call Me Lip Lock Queen?
“I might have locked lips in just couple of movies, while I’ve acted in nearly a dozen movies. How could you call me a lip lock queen then?” asks Regina Cassandra, the dusky siren who tasted a flop recently with Soukyam movie.

TRS First Defeat in Telangana
In what is seen as firt defeat of TRS and first victory of Congress party after the formation of the new state of Telangana, Congress won Nalgonda MLC seat by defeating incumbent TRS. Former MP and Congress candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy won over TRS candidate Tera Chinnapa Reddy. Of all six MLC seats from four districts, results for four seats have been announced. While TRS bagged 3 seats, Congress won in 1 seat.
Elections were held for each seat in Nalgonda and Khammam districts, whereas two MLCs each are to be elected from Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts.
TRS candidate Balasani Lakshmi Narayana won in Khammam with 31 votes majority. TRS shown its strength in Mahaboob Nagar as well. Its candidate Kasireddy Narayana Reddy won over Damodar Reddy with a margin of 65 votes.
Jr NTR Distinctive Looks in Nannaku Prematho
Hero characterizations flowed from Sukumar’s pen generally behave eccentrically with nothing like out of life heroism traits. His characters will most of the time adopt mind games to win over the circumstances or villains if any as per the story and script. Of course, Sukku failed majorly in narrating the underlying story while bringing the charm out of his heroes.
Having learnt the lessons, Sukumar is coming this time with ‘Nannaku Prematho’ starring Junior NTR as main lead with a perfect family drama or say father-son bonding as the main ingredient. Is Sukku still in his old familiar pattern of presenting the protagonist with an unconventional and slightly strange attributes?
Yes, says the ‘Nannaku Prematho’ trailer. Two to three episodes of stylish NTR sitting in a meditation pose or the way he is lecturing the co-workers with ‘Zero Emotion Zero Enemies’ theory or the particular design of entire story unveiling process reminds us of ‘1 Nenokkadine.’ That’s what can be called style with substance. Sankrnathi Films to Face Difficulty for Rs.50 cr. Share!
Unlike to that of previous years, Sankranthi-2015’s films appear to be sure shot super hits at the box office. Every movie has its strength to be treated as a blockbuster. It is a known news that ‘Naannaku Prematho’, ‘Dictator’, ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ and ‘Express Raja’ are readying for release for Sankranthi release.
Although movie goers have complete faith on the super success of all the movies, some of the movie fans are expressing their doubts. All movies appear to be super hits. But then, how can each movie get maximum of theaters for its release? It is certain that all the Sankranthi movies have to share total number of theaters among themselves as such there will be no chances of collecting record opening shares. ” If at all the same situation does exist, how can any movie gets entered in 50 cr.share club? Just asking!” say some of the movie fans.
On a positive note, chances of Sankranthi movies to be screened with more number of extra shows and midnight shows with flat ticket rates in B and C centers of coastal districts and Ceded. Whatever it is, it remains to be seen which Sankranthi film turns out to be a record breaking hit in terms of its collections.
