Nandamuri Fans Changed, Mega Fans Next
Shouting about ‘Pawan Kalyan’ when any other mega hero is giving a speech at an audio launch is the unique quality of some hardcore Pawan fans in the ‘mega’ group. Though they maintained silence for a while, their full-form was unleashed at Loafer audio launch recently.
Treading in similar path, even hardcore Balayya fans from “Nandamuri” group started raining slogans like ‘Jai Balayya Jai Jai Balayya’ events of other Nandamuri heroes. Recently when they tried to disturb Sher audio similarly, Kalyan Ram took the situation to his heart and doused them with his good talk.
But with Jr NTR pitting Nannaku Prematho against Dictator and going ahead without any retreat, it’s felt that Balayya fans will show stars at the audio launch of Nannaku Prematho. Much to anyone’s surprise, Nandamuri fans didn’t borrowed that ‘mega’ quality of obstructing speeches, disrupting audio launches and showcasing their love in barbaric style.
They simply submerged themselves in the emotional quotient raked up at the event, while the speeches of Devi Sri Prasad and Jr NTR made them teary eyed. Looks like its time for even hardcore Pawan Kalyan fans from the mega clan to change. Rather disrupting speeches and creating a commotion, it’s good if someone enjoys the audio launch functions and the speeches of chief guests.
Memantha Nanna Pichchollam: NTR
Young Tiger NTR’s speech during the audio launch of Nannaku Prematho was thoroughly emotional. NTR stated off paying his tribute to his father Hari Krishna for raising him and his brother Kalyanram by instilling values and confidence.
NTR then revealed that audiences will see director Sukumar in every frame of Nannaku Prematho because the film’s story was born during the final moments Sukumar’s father. NTR said that no one could pay such a cinematic tribute to their father like Sukumar did.
Talking about the hero of the day and the film’s music director, Devi Sri Prasad, NTR read out an SMS which DSP sent just two days after his father’s demise and revealed that DSP recorded the ‘Don’t Stop’ song with Raghu Dixit on the third day of his father’s death, as his father always taught him to ‘never stop his work’.
NTR even requested his fans to give a standing ovation to DSP for his commitment, which made DSP teary eyed. Finally, an emotional NTR concluded saying, “Memantha Nanna Pichchollam” (we are all mad after our fathers).
NTR Made Devi Sri Prasad Cry
Young tiger Jr NTR made his Nannaku Prematho music composer Devi Sri Prasad while speaking at the film’s audio launch event. It was not intentional, but when NTR was recalling an incident of a small SMS conversation between the two when DSP’s father died of heart attack. “Everybody was talking about Devi Sri Prasad. But, I only know what he sacrificed for the movie.
I have a message with me send by Devi. When I was in Spain, his father Satya Murthy gaaru passed away. I messaged him saying, I don’t want to disturb you by calling you at this point of time. He replied me for this after 2 days”. Here is the DSP’s text reply to NTR, “Thank you for your words, love you Thalaivar (NTR). Completed dad’s rituals yesterday. I’m taking care of mom.
My dad is my greatest love and inspiration. I recorded ‘Don’t Stop’ song with Raghu Dixit today. Once again thanks for your love and being there for me. He never likes to stop me to work for whatever the reason”. “I am not too pleased with the claps.
I want standing ovation for Devi,” said NTR. All of a sudden DSP moved to tears with this gesture from NTR. “Thanks a lot Devi. I am really sorry Devi for actually making you cry. But, I think Satya Murthy gaaru is with us and will bless us.
I once again sorry Devi for making you sad,” stated NTR. We all know that, Devi Sri Prasad came back to work after his father’s final rituals as not to disturb the schedules. He recorded songs on time and is currently working on background score of the film. Kudos to DSP and his commitment towards work!

U.K. military helps combat flooding
British Prime Minister David Cameron sent more troops into northern England on Sunday to help exhausted residents and emergency workers fight back rising river waters that have inundated towns and cities after weeks of heavy rain. Mr. Cameron said the flooding was “unprecedented” and vowed to do everything possible to protect people and their property as the damage spread to the major cities, including York, Leeds and Manchester. He said protective systems and contingency plans will be reviewed because the frequency of such extreme weather events seems to be on the rise.
Weeks of persistent rainfall has saturated the ground and swollen the rivers to record levels, leaving entire swathes of northern England, and smaller parts of Wales and Scotland, vulnerable. Several hundred flood warnings remain in effect. There have been no fatalities or serious injuries reported, but hundreds of people have been evacuated from houses and apartments in York, 200 miles north of London, where 3,500 properties are judged to be at risk. Emergency crews worked extra shifts to try to restore power to roughly 7,500 blacked out homes in the greater Manchester and Lancashire areas.
Environment Secretary Liz Truss said flood protection systems put in place in recent years were unable to cope with the record-high river levels. “In Lancashire every single river was at a record-high,” she said. “In Yorkshire we have seen some rivers a meter higher than they have ever been before. Clearly, in the light of that, we will be reviewing our flood defenses.” Several hundred people had been evacuated the day before in the West Yorkshire and Lancashire regions and officials said thousands had lost power. The number of people affected continues to grow as flooding spreads and impacts cities as well as villages and towns.
A picturesque 200-year-old pub, The Waterside, in the greater Manchester area, collapsed and part of the structure was swept away by the River Irwell. Rising river levels also threatened downtown Manchester and police dealt with a ruptured gas main and small fire believed to have been caused by the flooding. The Environment Agency urged residents to remain vigilant because more “severe” flooding is expected overnight and Monday.
The agency used its Twitter feed to beg people to be cautious, tweeting that driving or walking in flowing flood waters could be life-threatening. Rescue crews have been using boats to help remove people from their homes and in some cases from their nearly submerged vehicles.

Ajay is an actor’s director: Sayesha Saigal
Sayesha Saigal, the grand-niece of yesteryear actress Saira Banu, is excited about her debut in Bollywood with actor-director Ajay Devgn in his forthcoming film Shivay. Sayesha who made her Tollywood debut with Akhil, says the film could have been much better.
“I think there should have been a few more emotional and meaningful sequences between the couple. The couple looked beautiful but they hardly had any romantic sequences. The boy does not even say, ‘I love you’ to the girl. Also, the content needed to be a little more meaningful I suppose. A little focus on the couple could have brought in more youngsters to the theatres. In the absence of romance the chemistry between the couple was missing too.”
And even now, post her debut, Sayesha is having a great run. “I am impatiently waiting for Shivay. I am so happy that Ajay Devgn offered me his debut film as director. It is a matter of pride for me. I auditioned for the film and passed with flying colours. We have finished two schedules. Our first schedule was completed in Mussoorie and our second schedule will get done at in Hyderabad. I will be flying back to Mumbai to attend Salman Khan’s 50th birthday party. Salman personally invited me.”
Talking about Salman, she says she was 16 when she first met him. “He had told me, ‘You will become an actor… you seem to have all the potential of being a good performer’. At that point I thought that he may have told me so only because of my height… I was very tall for my age. But today when I look back and ponder about those words I feel that he was so right,” she says.
“Working in films is very important for me, whether Bollywood or Tollywood. I want to be part of good films.” Sayesha adds, “I have no problem talking in Telugu. I have learnt to converse in the language and I love it. For my shoot in Hyderabad, my entire team is from the city, this has helped me speak Telugu more efficiently. In fact, I dream of working with Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli garu,” she adds.
And even though she’s doing great for herself, she does believe that she has a long way to go. “I have to work very hard and I have a lot more to achieve. I am trying to give in my hundred per cent for Shivay. Being directed by Ajay as well acting opposite him, I have learnt that Ajay is an actor’s director. He is very clear as to what he wants from his actors. The script is new, it is not a remake of a Tollywood film as some people have been saying.” About her future films she says, “I have three B’wood films. But my next film is a Tollywood one. I am open to both Tollywood and Bollywood films.”
Cow dung patties selling like hot cakes online
The patties cow poop mixed with hay and dried in the sun, made mainly by women in rural areas and used to fuel fires have long been available in villages. But online retailers including Amazon and eBay are now reaching out to the country’s ever—increasing urban population, feeding into the desire of older city folks to harken back to their childhood in the village.
Some retailers say they’re offering discounts for large orders. Some customers are asking for gift wrapping. “Cow dung cakes have been listed by multiple sellers on our platform since October and we have received several customer orders” since then, said Madhavi Kochar, an Amazon spokesperson. The orders come mostly from cities where it would be difficult to buy dung cakes, she said.
Cow dung cakes have been used for centuries for fires, whether for heating, cooking or religion rituals. Across rural areas, piles of drying cow dung are ubiquitous. Radhika Agarwal of ShopClues said demand for the cow dung cakes spiked during the recent Diwali festival season. On a recent day, ShopClues’ website showed that the patties had sold out. “Around Diwali, when people do a lot of pujas in their homes and workplaces, there is a lot of demand for cow dung cakes,” said Ms. Agarwal.
“Increasingly, in the cold weather, people are keeping themselves warm by lighting fires” at outdoor events, she said, adding that people who grew up in rural areas find the peaty smell of dung fires pleasant. “It reminds them of the old days,” she said. Online retailers said people were also buying the dung cakes to light fires for ritual ceremonies to mark the beginning of the new year and for the winter festival known as Lohri.
The cakes are sold in packages that contain two to eight pieces weighing 200 grams each. Prices range from 100 to 400 rupees per package. Dung cakes are also used as organic manure, and some sellers are marketing them for use in kitchen gardens.
I find it silly to keep comparing Ranveer & Ranbir
Actress Deepika Padukone finds comparisons between her rumoured boyfriend Ranveer Singh and ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor silly. “It doesn’t irritate or anger me, I find it silly, as time and again they have to keep comparing everything.
I have other co-stars like Irrfan Khan or Amitabh Bachchan, why not compare them,” Deepika said. “I have worked with all of them, but we conveniently pick Ranbir and Ranveer. I find it silly to keep comparing people or things,” she said.
Ranveer had earlier said he shares a “divine equation” with Deepika. On being asked what relation she shares with Ranveer, Deepika said, “He is my best friend… He is someone I am extremely comfortable around. I can talk to him about anything; I can be whatever I want to be with him.”
“He is very non-judgemental. He is very accepting of the way people are. He is a very loving person,” she added.
