Google, Microsoft launch ‘Santa trackers’ for kids
New Delhi: It’s finally Christmas and that time of the joyful season when family spends time together, appreciate the people’s closet and hand then wrapped merchandise.
For kids it’s more fun as they eagerly wait for Santa Claus to give them gifts. This Christmas Google and Microsoft are giving kids a better way to wait for Santa’s arrival than looking at the clock.
According to The Verge, the search engine and the US tech giant have launched their own Santa tracking websites, which track his course as Christmas arrives. It will also give kids ways to explore the world and find out more about the places Santa is flying over.
The technology giants are also offering games for the holiday season for kids , some of which are also educational.
Varun Dhawan turns Santa for kids at orphanage
Mumbai: Actor Varun Dhawan, who is riding high on the success of his flick ‘ Dilwale,’ celebrated Christmas with a group of kids from an orphanage in the city.
The 28-year-old actor, who decided to celebrate the success of his films this year, surprised the children with gifts and had a blast while doing so.
Varun has been one of the very few Bollywood stars to have three back to back successful films in 2015, all of which hit the 100 crore mark. The actor has been seen in various roles all through the year. From Playing a murderer in ‘Badlapur’, to a dancer in ‘ABCD2’ and finally a lover boy in ‘Dilwale’.
The actor will be soon seen in the upcoming action flick ‘Dishoom’ that also stars John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez.

The couple looked very much in love as usual in the pictures. Shahid, who is currently shooting for his upcoming film ‘Rangoon’, looked classy as ever in his simple attire, where as Mira got into the festive spirit and had a red and black outfit on.

Mom Becomes Porn Star To Please Her Son
Mothers do anything to make their children happy, but this ‘anything’ will also have limits. However, a 20-year-old mother from Portsmouth of Hampshire chose to act in porn to give her son the perfect Christmas this year. The single mum Megan Clara is a normal employee.
She was heartbroken last year when her five years old son Ashton complained that he didn’t receive the same expensive presents as his friends. After seeing his disappointed face, Megan pledged to make Christmas 2015 one to remember.
So, she has decided to act in porn films and her earning for a scene in such films is absolutely £500. Megan has spent almost £1500 on her son this Christmas, compared to the £100 spent last year.
She says she receives counterattack from her chosen career path but brands those people ‘jealous’. “People say he’s spoilt but he’s not, he’s my only son and I finally have the money to get him really nice things.
I enjoy what I do and I’m not hurting anyone else, some people are just jealous. I can spend my money how I like too, I don’t spend it on alcohol, drugs or smoking, why shouldn’t I spend it on Ashton and myself,” said Megan.
Haj 2016: Forms to be given from January 14
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Haj Committee on Friday announced that application forms for Haj-2016 would be issued from 14 January to February 8, 2016 for pilgrims from AP and TS.
TS Haj Committee special officer S.A. Shukoor said that the Haj Committee of India has finalised the Action Plan for Haj-2016, according to which qurrah (draw of lots) for selection of pilgrims would be held any day between March 15 and 23, 2016.
He said that Haj quota would be allotted to AP and TS on the basis of 2011 census and the TS Haj Committee would make arrangements for AP Haj pilgrims.
Prof. Shukoor said chartered flights will take off from August 4 to September 5 for Haj 2016 scheduled on September 10, 2016. He appealed to people intending to submit Haj applications to get their passports ready, as they would have to submit the copies along with the applications.

Tollywood’s hunk Rana’s love affair with a well-known actress is known to all the people in the industry and the people who closely observe the industry. But he severed his ties with her even before the release of Baahubali and Rudramadevi and the actress planned to marry someone else.
As she didn’t marry the guy she wanted to as planned earlier, once again rumours have started that their romance has rekindled. Media reports also came that they were spotted together at many events and restaurants. But the sources close to Rana say that this is not true. He is single at present and is busy working in movies with full dedication.
“The success of Baahubali made many top directors in India recognize his potential. So he is getting great offers now from Bollywood too. More things are happening on professional front than personal level,” said a person close to Rana.

Puri shelves Rogue for Better one
Director Puri Jagannadh has decided to shelve his much-anticipated high-budgeted film Rogue. After so much hype and hungama, Puri Jagan shelving the film taken everyone by surprise. Estimated as over Rs 40 Crore budget film, producer CR Manohar’s son Ishaan was supposed to make his debut with the film. At a time when all is set to launch movie, Puri shelving the project has shocked one and all.

After observing the changing trends in the industry, Puri felt the need to reinvent himself and come out with a very novel concept. ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ Release Date Pushed to May!
Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ was earlier thought to be released on April 8. Since the delay in the regular shoot is inevitable, the makers have now confirmed the release date of the movie tentatively as May 11.
Three years ago, ‘Gabbar Singh’ was released on the same date got blockbuster result at the box office.

Smartphone-based Systems help Driverless Cars ‘see’
Scientists have developed two new smartphone-based systems for driverless cars that can identify a user’s location and various components of a road scene such as street signs, pedestrians and buildings in places where GPS does not function. The systems can perform the same job as sensors costing tens of thousands of pounds, researchers said. The separate but complementary systems have been designed by researchers from the University of Cambridge in UK. Although the systems cannot currently control a driverless car, the ability to make a machine ‘see’ and accurately identify where it is and what it is looking at is a vital part of developing autonomous vehicles and robotics.
The first system, called SegNet, can take an image of a street scene it has not seen before and classify it, sorting objects into 12 different categories – roads, street signs, pedestrians, buildings and cyclists – in real time. It can deal with light, shadow and night-time environments, and currently labels more than 90 per cent of pixels correctly.
Previous systems using expensive laser or radar based sensors have not been able to reach this level of accuracy while operating in real time. Users can upload an image or search for any city or town in the world, and the system will label all the components of the road scene. The system has been successfully tested on both city roads and motorways. For the driverless cars currently in development, radar and base sensors are expensive – in fact, they often cost more than the car itself. In contrast with expensive sensors, which recognise objects through a mixture of radar and LIDAR (a remote sensing technology), SegNet learns by example – it was ‘trained’ by the researchers, who manually labelled every pixel in each of 5000 images.
Once the labelling was finished, the researchers then took two days to ‘train’ the system before it was put into action. “It’s remarkably good at recognising things in an image, because it is had so much practise,” said Alex Kendall, a PhD student in the Department of Engineering at Cambridge.
A separate but complementary system uses images to determine both precise location and orientation.This localisation system runs on a similar architecture to SegNet, and is able to localise a user and determine their orientation from a single colour image in a busy urban scene.The system is far more accurate than GPS and works in places where Global Positioning System (GPS) does not, such as indoors, in tunnels, or in cities where a reliable GPS signal is not available.
The localisation system uses the geometry of a scene to learn its precise location, and is able to determine, for example, whether it is looking at the east or west side of a building, even if the two sides appear identical.
