Anchors aspiring to be heroines is the latest trend in Tollywood. Konidela Niharika who has hosted shows like Dhee Juniors on TV and Anasuya who became popular for Jabardasth TV show are already working in movies.

Reshmi is following their footsteps as she has signed another movie. Reshmi made debut in an untitled movie sometime back and it hasn’t released yet. Unperturbed by it, she has signed another film which was launched today.

Reshmi, the hot looking anchor, has huge fan following among youth. She is game for skin show too.

Tamil star Dhanush’s latest Tamil film Thangamagan is having simultaneous release in Telugu this Friday. Dubbed in Telugu as Nava Manmadhudu this film is directed by Velraj who previously directed successful VIP (Raghuvaran BTech) with Dhanush. Nava Manmadhudu features Samantha and Amy Jackson as the female leads.

Despite Samantha’s stardom in Telugu cinema industry, Nava Manmadhudu didn’t fetch high price. Raghuvaran BTech’s success or Samantha didn’t add any value to this project as Brundavan Pictures bought it for a cheap price.As per trade sources Telugu dubbing rights for two states were bought for 1.8 Crore on NRA basis.

This is a very cheap deal and the buyers could strike gold if it clicks. Samantha has high hopes on this film as she plays a performance based character after a very long time. Nava Manmadhudu has to compete with Loafer and the Bollywood biggies Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani that are also releasing this weekend.

The long pending project announcing the directorial debut of Gopi Mohan with Sunil as hero under the production of Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments banner can now be considered as almost shelved. In return, Sunil who took the advance remuneration from Anil is all set to work with director Veeru Potla for a new movie titled as ‘Eedu Gold Ehe.’

The project is officially announced today along with first look release of ‘Eedu Gold Ehe.’ As we do know, Veeru Potla is a good commercial director with hits like ‘Doosukeltha, Ragada’ and Bindaas’ to credit. Though Veeru way trying to join the big league by directing a star hero but he couldn’t.

While Sunil’s new movie ‘Krishnashtami’ is due for release in January first week and one more project in direction of Vamsy Akella is in production stages, this can be third film from Sunil to release in next year. Really, Sunil can be the golden hero of 2016 much apt to the title ‘Eedu Gold Ehe.’

After achieving tremendous success in a short spanned career, many people easily travel on to a wrong track relaxing in mid stages of career thus giving a chance for critics to bash them. But those like music directors Devi Sri Prasad and SS Thaman are showing thorough professionalism, providing one more standard example on why their market-demand isn’t falling down.

After the natural calamity of floods devastated entire Chennai city, music director SS Thaman’s new music studio was completely drowned under water with all his musical equipments left damaged. This has put ‘Dictator’ team under immense pressure because recovery of Thaman’s studio would have needed at least ten to fifteen days for repair so that re-recording actually began. Although director Sriwass thought of sharing the re-recording burden with Mani Sharma or Chinna, final decision was left on Thaman. Magically, Thaman is heard to have taken lot of pressure on himself and made his music studio operational in a span of just three days surprising his technical team.

Same do applies for Devi Sri Prasad because despite the personal loss of his father Sathya Murthy couple of days ago, he promised producer BVSN Prasad and director Sukumar to stick with their release strategy for ‘Nannaku Prematho.’ In next four to five days, Dsp is expected to formally join the re-recording works. Very few people in industry are such quick to react. This could be the reason why none of the music directors are able to replace the top slots occupied by Dsp and Thaman.

The long unemployed season of Victory Venkatesh is going to end. His new movie tentatively titled as ‘Babu Bangaram’ in Maruthi direction has took-off today in Film Nagar Temple amidst the presence of limited number of guests. In fact, Maruthi succeeded in winning the trust of Daggubati camp much before ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ with a project titled ‘Radha.’ Due to reasons unknown, Venky called it off at penultimate hour.

Later, Maruthi took on the assignment of serving a break to Nani with ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ which evolved as a surprise hit. So, Venkatesh did not waste much of time when Maruthi re-approached with a new story as producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsy is also ready to invest. With wonderful Nayanathara joining the cast as heroine and entry of Ghibran bought extra charm for this venture.

While the regular shooting will be commenced from tomorrow, Maruthi planned the release of ‘Babu Bangaram’ for next year summer holidays. As the title suggests, this one is a clean family entertainer standing up to the reputation of Venkatesh.

Comedian turned hero Sunil has taken a long time gap as he is coming with ‘Krishnashtami’ in Vasu Varma direction under Dil Raju production. The project went on sets some time ago and if reports are to be believed, ‘Krishnashtami’ is all likely to hit the screens before Pongal, if Dil Raju planning goes right. Apparently, media has been buzzing on possible Pongal release of this film standing in competition against ‘Dictator’ and ‘Nannaku Prematho.’

However, latest reports from Dil Raju camp suggest that ‘Krishnashtami’ can arrive few days earlier to escape from Pongal threats. A better option available before Sunil and Dil Raju is to keep the film on the advantage of solo release if January first week is locked. As this movie is a complete family entertainer, a positive post release talk can also serve the advantage carrying the trade even into festive season.

‘Krishnashtami’ has enormous casting of Nikki Galrani and Dimple Chopade as heroines while Dinesh Kanagarathnam is composing the music. Currently in a swift post production mode, let us see how Dil Raju moves forward with a strategy?

Actor Madhavan’s name resonates with lighthearted romance and gentleness. But now, the lover boy has turned an gritty and a rugged boxing coach in his debut home production, Saala Khadoos. The film’s trailer has been unveiled yesterday by one of India’s most successful directors Raj Kumar Hirani, who is also co-producing the film along with Madhavan.

In Saala Khadoos, Madhavan plays Adi Tomar, a talented yet a failed boxer. Who has been transferred to Chennai to train a low-rated women’s boxing team. Maddy then stumbles upon Madhi, a fiery young girl from the fishing community with incredible power in her fist and begins his journey of turning her into a national champ.

With faint resemblances of the iconic Chak De India, Saala Khadoos promises to be another landmark film in Indian films with women’s sports and empowerment as its main theme. The film is directed by Sudha Kongara, a former associate to Mani Ratnam. Saala Khadoos will hit the screens on January 29th.

Brit beauty Amy Jackson is all set to play the female lead role in the Rajini-Shankar Robo 2, which started its shooting today. Surprisingly,  Amy will be playing a humanoid robot in the film. While Amy’s career is going great guns, her personal life has been in news time and again because of her failed relationships.

Of late, Amy has been linked up with the controversial Bollywood young hero Sooraj Pancholi. The Amy-Sooraj link up rumors caught steam ever since the young couple was spotted spending some jovial time at a film’s premiere show. However, Amy has cleared all the rumours and said that she is not seeing Sooraj or anyone and that she is only serious about her films down south.

In the past, Amy was in a live-in relationship with her debut Bollywood hero Prateik Babbar, but split with him after a year. New Delhi: Be it Deepika Padukone’s role as independent but hassled daughter in “Piku” or Kangana Ranaut’s double avatar as Tanu/Datto in “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”, 2015 saw actresses finally win the box office battle and question the gender pay disparity in Bollywood. Deepika had a third successful year in a row. The actress, who was once considered just a pretty face, took the lead in “Piku” with megastar Amitabh Bachchan playing her cantankerous father and Irrfan Khan also in a key role.

The movie had an exceptionally good run at the box office while her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s “Roy” and “Bombay Velvet” bombed. She did not have a big role in Imtiaz Ali’s “Tamasha” but it was enough for critics to applaud her performance. It is yet to be seen whether she makes a hat-trick at the box office with her period drama “Bajirao Mastani”, which is pitted against “Dilwale”, fronted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who launched her in “Om Shanti Om” and worked with the actress again in “Chennai Express” and “Happy New Year”.

Deepika is the only woman to break into the top-10 list of Forbes India’s highest earning celebrities, which was dominated by male stars. It has been an eventful year for Deepika, who went public about her fight with depression and starred in a woman empowerment video. She has also been vocal about the pay disparity, calling it unfair. She is now all set to make her Hollywood debut opposite “Fast and Furious” star Vin Diesel. Another actress, who has challenged the established order of things in Bollywood, is Kangana. Her candid and devil-may- care attitude may not have earned her many friends but Kangana has come a long way to be counted among the best actresses that Bollywood has today.

Kangana’s road to stardom has not been easy and in recent times she has called out the industry for its harsh attitude towards women. “When I was struggling people treated me so badly. What happens is that a heroine is always dependent on the producer or the hero. So no one thought, ‘What if someone becomes Kangana Ranaut and then she will never work with me as producer or actor’. They should have some shame before they treat women badly. They assume ‘kya karegi’. She is just a girl’,” Kangana said. The actress, who won her career’s second National award this year, is also not happy with the existing pay gap between male and female stars.

Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Tamil sci-fi actioner “Enthiran 2.0” went on floors here on Wednesday. A sequel to Tamil blockbuster “Enthiran”, the film will be directed by Shankar. “2.0 shoot starts from tomorrow (Wednesday). Excited,” Shankar wrote on his Twitter page on Tuesday night.

According to a source from the film’s unit, the first shot was canned between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday. “The initial portion will be shot in a special set that has been erected in a studio here,” the source told IANS. Also starring Amy Jackson, who will reportedly be playing a robot, the film is being produced by Lyca Productions.

While A.R. Rahman will compose the tunes, the cinematography will be taken care by Nirav Shah. “Baahubali” fame Srinivas Mohan will take care of the visual effects work in the film, which will hit the screens next year.

It is already known that Ram Charan confirmed that ‘Kaththi’ remake will be the 150th film of Mega Star Chranjeevi and VV Vinayak will be directing the prestigious project. But the question is why to select a remake instead of an original one? The reason for this is, Chranjeevi wants to come back with a commercial film loaded with social issues. And none of the writers and directors was able to satisfy Chiru.

If we look back, Chiru became successful in most cases whenever he selected a remake. When he was in flops, he remade a film and made ‘Hitler’. Then he scored a massive hit with ‘Tagore’ which is the remake of ‘Ramana’.

Then he scored a big hit with ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’ which is also a remake of Hindi film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’. His last film as a hero was also a remake. Also our films did not touch the socio-political type of films like ‘Rangam’, ‘Kaththi’ in recent times. So Chiru selecting a remake script is not a wrong thing.

Like in our Defence services, where we see one brother giving his life for the country and the other sibling joins the Army next day itself, even movie celebs are behaving the same way. Personal loss happened to composer Devi Sri Prasad is irreparable but the talented lad is showing professionalism as per reports.

With the passing away of his father Satyamurthy, it is felt that Devi Sri Prasad will not be able to finish the “Nannaku Prematho” re-recording work, thereby affecting the film’s January 13th, 2016 release as planned. Even producer Bhogavalli Prasad and director Sukumar also left it to DSP whether he will be wrapping the work or not, and they are exercising the possibility of zeroing next best date.

Meanwhile, DSP has struck to professionalism, saying that nearly 60 crores business of Nannaku Prematho will be at stake if he fails to finish the work and owed to complete it as planned.

Close sources informed us that Devi Sri asked Nannaku Prematho producer to fix up a Censor date as far as January 8th, such that he could take some time to bounce back, healing his wound faster, and finish the pending job. However, Sukumar is said to be not convinced with this move of DSP and he’s asking him to take own time to come back to normal before starting work.

As we know already, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is literally overseeing everything to everything for “Sardaar Gabbar Singh”. He is the ‘kartha karma kriya’ for this movie, while KS Ravindra is the director. With the news of Pawan composing and designing action sequences is spreading fast, people are looking if this could be a plus or minus for the film.

For movies like Kushi, Jhonny and Daddy, Pawan Kalyan has conceived the action sequences. While they are undoubtedly stylish and stunning in those films, success rate is what it matters in the end. Except Kushi, rest two are one of the best disasters in Pawan and Chiru’s career. Also, those fights looked just stylish but at the end lacked punch. For the now, audiences are waiting to see Pawan in mass masala fights unlike that stylised action.

On the flip side, Pawan should have focused on dance choreography this time as complaints are coming out that he’s toning down the dances film by film. We expect some hard hitting dance moves Pawan, are you going to refill our thirst?
