Blatant Usage Of Super Hits Continues
Using super hit films for their success became a norm in Telugu film industry. Recently we have seen how scenes from Attarintiki Daredi and Srimanthudu are used in the movie Bengal Tiger as a spoofs. They are the ones that are actually pulling the crowds. This blatant is continuing with two upcoming Christmas releases, Soukyam and Jata Kalise, as they focus on these spoofs for comedy.
In Soukyam we have 30 years Prithvi imitating Baahubali Sivudu’s shiva lingam lifting scenes, while in Jata Kalise there is Saptagiri imitating Mahesh from Srimanthudu.
For how many times Telugu industry depends on these spoofs to score marks at box office? Can’t we do something better to create comedy?
As we are discussing this happening, there are a dozen more films out there in production stage filming spoofs on Attarintiki Daredi, Baahubali and Srimanthudu. The situation is turning quite pathetic with these films equating their content with silly youtube videos.
Robot bai!
Robotic vacuum cleaners and floor washing robots with sweeping and wet mopping functions, doing chores inside homes, is not exactly new. They have been around, for a decade and more in the US—after a robotics engineer from the MIT Artificial Intelligence Lab, Rodney Brooks co-founded iRobot in 1990 with two colleagues. However the company’s first domestic cleaning robot, Roomba was launched only in 2002. Home cleaning robots were first introduced in India in 2012 by a domestic company founded by Rajeev Karwal, under the brand name Milagrow which today has a slate of half a dozen home cleaning robots including some for cleaning glass windows, swimming pools and lawns. They have also cannily adapted the technology to Indian needs, by getting most of their indoor range to do both jhadoo and pocha.
iRobot has finally brought its flagship Roomba products to India a few weeks ago through Bangalore-headquartered Puresight Systems, offering models in 3 series—600, 700 and 800—all looking and working alike, with small variations in vacuum power, and ranging in cost from Rs 32,900 to Rs 69,900. I have been trying out the model 700 for a week. Like all models it has a pair of extractors rotating in opposite directions, to pick up debris from the floor. The extractors are enhanced by a vacuum, which directs the airflow through a narrow slit to collect fine dust. Another horizontally mounted “side spinner” brush sweeps against walls to reach debris not accessible by the main brushes and vacuum.
The robot is powered by a battery that has to be recharged from mains through a docking station, which is the homebase to which it returns after its chores are done. It includes a cliff sensor so that it does not fall down stairs. To create no-go areas, which you don’t want cleaned, you can build infrared ‘virtual walls’, using two additional ‘Lighthouse’ units provided. The robot is programmed by a built-in algorithm that follows a spiral path, cleaning in widening circles, and in another mode, follows the wall, changing its angle if it bumps into an obstacle like a chair leg.
One common problem with floor cleaning robots is that hair on the floor tends to entangle in the rotating parts, slowing it down. But the Roomba has a very simple system to remove and clean the extractors. The Roomba 700 which is a mid range model costs Rs 49,900. The Roomba robots are dry cleaners. For wet mopping, iRobot has another product the Brava 380t for hard floors, which uses reusable cleaning cloths. (Rs 27,900)
New app allows smart home devices to ‘talk’
Washington: Imagine a lamp that turns down the volume of your TV when you dim the lights or a car that switches on your home air conditioner when you leave the office! A new app may make this possible. MIT researchers have created an augmented reality app that lets you link together smart objects around you just by drawing connections with your finger between them.
The Reality Editor smartphone app aims to give users the power to fully control the smart objects in their lives. For example, a lamp can turn down the volume on your TV when you dim the lights, a light switch can also turn off your television, or a car that switches on your home air conditioner in the summer when you leave the office.
“Imagine a future where everything around you can be controlled,” said Valentin Heun of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s Fluid Interfaces Lab, who developed the app. The smartphone app uses fingerprint-like codes that identify smart objects when viewed within the app, ‘Fastcodesign.com’ reported.
It then calls up a literal HTML webpage, representing that object’s corresponding functionality, and overlays it on the gadget so that users can programme it.
Naidu Gives A Shocker To Reddy!
Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who had been encouraging party MLA from Kodangal A Revanth Reddy ignoring other senior leaders, is learnt to have given a shocker to the firebrand MLA.
A few days ago, Revanth went to Naidu’s residence in Hyderabad when the latter was in the city, to apprise him of the developments in the party in Telangana region. The MLA thought he would straightaway walk into Naidu’s chamber, as he was the working president of the Telangana TDP. But the staff in Naidu’s residence asked Revanth to wait for some time, as the party boss is in a meeting with some VIP.
And when the VIP came out of Naidu’s chamber, Revanth was in rude shock; as he was none other than My Home Group chairman J Rameshwar Rao, a de facto power centre in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Apparently, Rameshwar Rao had some business dealing with Naidu; may be, he wants to have a role the construction of Amaravati, the new capital of AP.
Well, it was definitely a shocker to Revanth, as the latter was fighting against the TRS government for giving undue importance to Rameshwar Rao, who he calls “Nandagiri Dora.” Revanth had exposed KCR’s favouritism towards Rameshwar Rao in the multi-crore Rayadurgam episode in the Assembly. Now, with Naidu himself encouraging Rameshwar Rao, Revanth will be forced to keep his mouth shut. What else can he do?
Balakrishna Dictator Funky Look
Nandamuri Balakrishna is a ferocious lion when given the right skin of characterization. Directors like Boyapati Srinu and B Gopal have bought the best of heroism and powerful body language in Balakrishna to work at Box Office. Off late, films such as ‘Lion, Legend’ have shown Nata Simham in commanding roles. Styling of Balayya in these projects also won loads of appreciation.
Just before the audio launch of Balakrishna new movie ‘Dictator,’ here is the funkier side of our mass hero in the above poster. The western styled wide brim beach party cap with cool mint blue shaded denims and shoes is surely an impressive, funky look. Makers are eyeing on a gradual build of hype around the film and audio function to be held on 20th of this month at Amaravathi will be the special stint in presence of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu.
‘Dictator’ directed by Sriwass with Anjali, Sonal Chauhan as heroines is said to be an action and comedy entertainer with all commercial ingredients. The film is all set to hit the screens for coming Pongal.
Amy Jackson Plays Lady Robot in Robot 2
Chitti, the name of Rajinikanth in ‘Robot’ which gets dismantled in climax is going to come alive yet again the sequel ‘Robot 2.’ For a change, Chitti gets a heroine to romance in the sequel and this lady Robot is going to be hot heroine Amy Jackson. Despite Chennai is reeling under pathetic situations under flood devastation, Rajinikanth’s birthday has become the best time for director Shankar to launch ‘Robot 2.’
As per Kollywood reports, ‘Enthiran 2’ shooting was started in Chennai two days back with Amy Jackson in a lady Robot getup. Director Shankar canned few scenes on Amy and their professional chemistry is going to carry for one more assignment after the successful ‘I Manoharudu.’
While Amy plays one heroine, Shankar is planning to rope in one more Bollywood beauty for main female lead. As reported in the past, Neil Nithin Mukesh is going to play the antagonist. There is something new in the offing from Chitti romance with Amy.
Pawan Kalyan No Reaction on Puri Advice
Pawan Kalyan Fans generally go berserk whenever there is a Mega function. May it belong to Ramcharan or Varun Tej or Sai Dharam Tej; what they know is to just show their love towards Power Star in a loud format. The same happened at one of the recent functions and Naga Babu was left angered with it advising Power Star Fans to go and make this noise before Pawan’s house. Thankfully, the issue subsided in no time because the matter was within their family.
Now that Puri Jagannath was also left irritated with Power Star Fans hungama at ‘Loafer’ audio launch, the yesterday statement from Puri referring the Fans as common-sense-less isn’t welcomed by many. Even Puri requested Pawan to interfere and interact with Fans groups and control their energy. How come Puri forgot a fact, it was the same Fans who lifted ‘Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu’ to a better commercial verdict and how come he got so much of crowds gathered for free in shooting the film climax?
Apparently, Pawan Fans go beyond all the border is sure to be agreed on. But, that’s their style and who can control them? Pawan may not be such a big fool to respond on the free advice given by Puri.

Sudheer Babu In his bava Footsteps!
Till now, hero Sudheer Babu is addressed as brother-in-law and family member of Super Star Mahesh Babu. Despite good hits like ‘Prema Katha Chithram,’ there was no way Sudheer Babu earned an individual recognition which can be possible now with new release ‘Bhale Manchi Roju’ set to arrive in theaters on 25th of this month.

Arranged Marriage Troubles For Young Heroes
A love marriage for a cinema hero will be fine, but there are lot of hiccups if a bride has to be found for an arranged marriage. There is no shortage of brides, but the mental torture a hero has to undergo is what we are talking about.
Actually when a young hero finds a match from a simple family, the girl and her family might be fine with it, but relatives keep on pestering with their doubts. Courtesy, hero’s closeness with a heroine during photo-call moments at press conferences. As long as the would-be wife don’t get such doubts, it’s fine for young heroes, otherwise it will be a big torture from the girl too.
Probably open mindedness, coping up with modern culture and understanding that cinema is just ‘acting’ but nothing else, is what girls should have in case if they chose a ‘hero’ as a bridegroom.
An young hero who got tired of looking for matches for years, has revealed this stuff on condition of anonymity. Anyway, some heroes are luck to find their wife through love and making everyone agree for the love marriage, he says.
