Mumbai: Soon after Salman Khan made a comment on his alleged ex-beau Katrina Kaif during his appearance on Kapil Sharma’s TV show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, media was abuzz with the news. On the show, the actor took a dig at Katrina, whose face featured on a crackers’ packet. Commenting on the packet, Salman said, “She is of no use to me”. While media was abuzz with Salman’s comment, the news didn’t go down well with Katrina Kaif. The actress called up Salman and yelled at him for his comment. The actor then apologised to Katrina.

“The base of my relationship with Salman was correct, it was true. Which is why we are still able to be friends. But he lives in a parallel universe, always making these jokes about me publicly, which get the media really kicked. Like the comment he made on Kapil’s show when he saw my pictures on a set of crackers. ‘She is of no use to me’! I called him and yelled at him. I can do that, it is the sort of equation we have. He said, ‘Okay sorry I will apologize to the media’. I told him to do no such thing and maintain a dignified silence if that is possible,” the actress revealed in her GQ India interview.

Ram Gopal Varma’s horror film titled Patta Pagalu, starring Rajasekhar and Swathi Dixit, was supposed to release last year around May, but it still hasn’t seen the light of day. According to a source, RGV is not interested in the film and after it was completed, he handed it over to Rajasekhar. “So Jeevitha and Rajasekhar will have to decide the film’s fate.

They wanted to re-shoot some scenes but RGV was not interested. So the film is lying at the lab,” adds the source. Rajasekhar too is not showing much interest in releasing the film as he wants to comeback with a big film. “Rajasekhar now wants to do character roles and is waiting for a good opportunity,” says the source.

With small films always getting affected due to the continual postponements of big films, the Producers’ Council has decided to control releases henceforth. “Big films like Baahubali, Srimanthudu, Rudhramadevi and Akhil were postponed several times. Because of these postponements the exhibitors and small films are affected the most. So to keep things in order, the Producers’ Council has decided that once a release date for a film is announced, the makers will have to stick to it,” says a source from the council.

If the producers can’t meet the release date the film should be postponed for at least four weeks. “It will allow small films to release during that time,” adds the source. This rule will come into force from January 1. Interestingly, releases in the Hindi, Kannada and Tamil film industries are always on time, it is only in the Telugu film industry that there’s no control over release dates. “Recently, everyone agreed to it during a meeting,” says the source. “Now, the Telugu producers want to put the releases in a streamline,” added the source.

Comedian Brahmanandam who used to be considered number one comedian until recently is now going through toughest times as his movies are biting the dust one after the other. While he is at all-time low, popular entertainment TV channel is going to do sanmanam (facilitation) on completing one thousand movies in his career and air the programme.

Young actress Anisha Ambrose who made debut with Alias Janaki was elated when she was given an opportunity to work with none other than Pawan Kalyan in Gabbar Singh sequel. Eyebrows were raised when Pawan opted to cast Anisha over many other star heroines for the sequel. However things didn’t work out as planned as Pawan decided to replace the director and heroine. As part of the “Bold Is Beautiful” series, they have earlier addressed problem of lesbians, and now focused on issues of pregnant.

Apparently the ad deals with a corporate boss of a construction company and her Senior Architect, played by Radhika Apte, as the lady boss explains why company removed from a top project. She’s denied a promotion because of her pregnancy, as the company confirms that she can’t be around the client 24 hours.

In the climax, the cinematic twist addresses the competition spirit women have, saying that they can handle both work and pregnancy at same time. Radhika is a treat to watch and respect for her grows double, watching this.

Nikhil and Nanditha starrer Sankarabharanam released yesterday to decent collections across the Telugu states. As per the trade sources, the comedy thriller minted around Rs 1.5 Crores in AP and Telangana on day one and this is biggest opener for Nikhil till date.

Due to poor reviews, mixed word-of-the-mouth and high costs involved, it’s unlikely that the buyers of Sankarabharanam recover their money. Though day 1 opening is good, trade analysts are not sure how long the collections remain so. Pulling off the film is definitely not a cake walk for Nikhil and Kona.

Sankarabharanam is free make of Bollywood sleeper hit Phas Gaye Re Obama. But, Telugu makers have failed to adopt and present it rightly in Telugu. Neither the movie has adequate entertainment we expect from the ace writer Kona Venkat nor has any uniqueness in the narration like Nikhil’s recent films. Except for few comedy bits, the film has nothing much to describe.

Analysts predict, Sankarabharanam will do decent business for this week until arrival of Ravi Teja’s Bengal Tiger gracing theaters on 11th of this month.
