Reddy Ropes In Shruti Haasan For Cherry
Director Surender Reddy roped in his Race Gurram heroine Shruti Haasan for his next movie with hero Ram Charan that is to be launched next month. The film is the remake of Tamil super hit Thani Oruvan and the movie’s pre-production work has started once Allu Aravind took over the project from producer Danayya.
Earlier, Shruti Haasan was paired with Ram Charan in Yevadu and the film went on to be a big hit. So now Charan has given his nod to Shruti when Surender Reddy suggested her for the role. The part was originally played by Nayanatara in the Tamil version. Also, Shruti Haasan was recently seen in Srimanthudu opposite Mahesh Babu as Charuseela and this will be her next big film in Telugu, though she is playing one of the heroines in Naga Chaitanya-starrer Majnu.
Shruti Haasan also recently hiked her remuneration to Rs 1.5 crores and the producers are willing to pay her the amount as she has become the lucky mascot to several heroes in Tollywood.
Mahesh Babu lauds Balakrishna’s good work
The makers of Srimanthudu had ran a contest in which the winners will be presented the cycle used by Mahesh Babu in their film. The contest was completed and the winner was finalized. The makers have got 15 Lakhs from the contest.
They have donated 10 Lakhs for Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital and another 5 Lakhs for Heal a Child Foundation. The makers have handed over cheques to the hospital and the NGO on Wednesday. Mahesh’s wife Namratha was also present.
Our readers are ware that Nandamuri Balakrishna is the Chairman of Basava Tarakaram Hospital. The actor is putting serious efforts to promote the hospital and is doing very good service to the poor in both the Telugu States. Its good to see Mahesh acknowledging Balayya’s good work.
MEK-3 gets a telecast date
King Nagarjuna is currently shooting for his very successful TV show, Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’s third season. The TV telecast of this new season will begin from 27th of this month in MAA TV. Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu-3 will have 60 Episodes that season.
Nagarjuna reportedly already completed the shooting of about 40 Episodes. There are reports that MAA TV is considering changing the timing of the telecast. On the other side, Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana is gearing up for Sankranthi release.
While Oopiri is being planned for February 5th, the next year. Nagarjuna will also be seen in cameo roles of Size Zero and in Srikanth son, Roshan’s debut movie, Nirmala convent.

Few days ago, the Size Zero team released a Press note that their film have little cameos of nine stars – Nagarjuna, Rana, Tamannah, Hansika, Kajal Agarwal, Manchu Lakshmi, Jeeva, Sri Divya and Revathi. They even told several reasons for why the actors agreed for the cameo roles in the film.
But the fact is that not all these stars have shot this song. Many cameos were added to the film using CG work. This will happen in a song in the film. Size Zero is a romantic comedy which hits the screens this 27th.
The film also has Sonal Chauahan in its ranks. It has a stellar cast line up with heavyweights like Prakash Raj,Urvashi, Ali, Posani, Master Bharat. Ananganaga O dheerudu fame Prakash Kovelamudi is wielding megaphone for this film.
Poor Nithin Goes Offline After Akhil
Hero Nithin proudly took up the challenge to launch Akkineni Akhil on his banner. He got the best technicians on board and invested lot of money in the movie to make sure of a grand launch pad for Akhil. He also took a break to make sure that everything falls in place for this prestigious film. Despite his passion and dedication Akhil turned out to be a major disaster. Although Nithin’s zeal is unquestionable, Akkineni fans are blaming him for the failure. They are pointing fingers at Nithin’s inexperience is one of the reasons for this debacle.
An experienced producer would have sensed that the film is not going to work is what they claim. However it was Nagarjuna and Akhil who have finalized the story and Nithin has little to do with it. Akkineni fans are targeting Nithin on social platform right from the day Akhil release was postponed from Dasara to Deepavali. It is downright silly that few fans are alleging that Nithin purposefully launched Akhil with such a disastrous film. Nithin who has always been active on Twitter went offline ever since the movie has hit the screens. Poor Nithin is not even being consoled for losing so many crores of hard earned money on Akhil.

100 Days Treat: Srimanthudu Giving Back
Mahesh Babu’s latest movie “Srimanthudu” has collected nearly 145 crores from people as ‘gross’ while producers will make nearly 85 crores ‘share’ out of it. What will he do with this money after the movie completed 100 days at box office? Some share, he’s giving back to society.
Standing by the word and the message he has given in Srimanthudu movie, Mahesh Babu is now giving back what he has earned from the film. As people loved the strong point that any millionaire should give back something to society and to their native places, Mahesh has already adopted villages and now he’s donating money to needful.
On the eve of film’s 100 days completion, today Srimanthudu team, Namrata and Koratala Siva, have handed over a 10 lakhs cheque to Basavatarakam Cancer Foundation and another cheque of 5 lakhs to Heal A Child Foundation in Hyderabad.
What’s more ideal is, not just preaching on the silver screen but living by it off the screen too. Good job Mahesh and Srimanthudu team.
Liplocks Got More Buzz Than Legend
This might be a bit shocker to few but true. Liplock pics, romantic stills from upcoming film “Abbayitho Ammayi” have gained much attention than the name of legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja who composed songs for the film. Apparently, youth of this generation are more into fast beats, liplocks, spectacular dance moves of lead pair.
Abbayitho Ammayi got good buzz due to its first look of the film, meaty posters of the hero, heroine. Even during the film’s audio, the romantic scenes have taken center stage by thus dominating the veteran.
No doubt, maestro Ilaiyaraaja is doyen of Indian music and legend unto himself. But the septuagenarian seems to be losing his charm among younger lot. It’s been a while maestro delivered great numbers. Even his songs in previous film Rudhramadevi failed to have his magic.
Although songs from Gundello Godari are nice, they didn’t turn out to be chartbusters. Perhaps, maestro’s songs are a bit slow to this faster generation. Only time will tell. Let’s hope he will soon be back with a bang.
Bandaru Dattatreya collapses in Warangal Campaign
BJP veteran and Union minster from the state of Telangana Bandaru Dattatreya, fondly called Dattanna aged 68 collapsed in the Warangal campaign today. He was rushed to the hospital immediately. There was bleeding out of his nose says sources. He was rushed to the Max care hospital in town.
He was there campaigning on behalf of P.Devaiah, combine candidate for both BJP and TDP in the By elections. Dattatreya was elected for Loksabha from Secunderabad Constituency. He is also the National Vice president of BJP. Like many other BJP member Dattanna too is a RSS member and severed as a Prachark before joining BJP
He held many posts in his 3 and a half decade old career and stayed loyal to BJP. She started off as BJP secretary for AP in 1980, went on to become MLA in 1991, reelected as MLA again in 1998. He also held the post of union minister between 98-99 and again got elected a MLA in 1999.
Between 2000-01 he was made the union minister for Development and poverty Alleviation. Between 02-04 he held the office of Union Minister for Railways. Now in 2014 he is Union Minster of state (Independent Charge) Labour and employment.

A sentimental blockbuster is what we have to say about Thala Ajith’s latest movie “Vedhalam” that is running to packed crowds in its first week at box office. Though rain hampered the film’s chances from the last couple of days at Chennai box office, it’s going steady, after collecting nearly 45 crores ‘share’ in its first weekend that consisted of 6 days since its release on 10th November.
Interesting happening is that Jr NTR is heard watching the special copy of a movie at a home theatre in a top producer’s office the other day. Grapevine has that Tarak got bowled out by the way director Siva presented the film despite a routine story. Especially he liked hero’s sentimental bonding with his sister. Even Shruti Haasan’s character as a lawyer impressed him. Will he do the Telugu remake version now is the biggest question?
NTR might take a decision on this film once he’s back from the Spain schedule of Nannaku Prematho which is likely to start in a couple of days. Watch this space for updates.
Varun Tej Repeats Akhil: Will It Pay Off?
Expectations and reality aren’t matching up when it comes to these star kids. Hype is always doing rounds around them, but blockbuster successes are maintaining the distance. Blame content first and then our equations could be reasoned.
Recent big lesson for Telugu industry came from Akhil Akkineni’s debut film Akhil. Keeping the whole of this film’s business, guess what has happened with Nizam rights. Though the makers themselves have held rights with them, the local distribution business went up to 10-12 crores. What happened with result? 5 crores is recovered by first weekend, but rest is impossible. Analysts say that the film is sold for a price beyond its capabilities.
Latest news is that Varun Tej’s Loafer is bought for 7.5 crores for Nizam by an young distributor, repeating an Akhil’s feat. Recently Kanche pulled 1.9 crores after first weekend and then remained silent. How far this idea of paying 7.5 crores for Loafer will pay off? Only a genuine mass blockbuster could save Varun, Puri Jagan and their distributors.
