‘Andhra Octopus’ Rajagopal Goes Wrong On Bihar Polls !
Lagadapati Rajagopal, who is also popular knows as ‘Andhra Octopus’ for his accuracy in poll surveys seems to have gone wrong this time in Bihar elections. The former Congress MP from Vijayawada, who is currently on ‘political sanyas’ attracted headlines with his poll surveys earlier which turned out to be almost correct with minor alterations. His survey predictions earlier proved correct when TRS, YSRCP fought bye-elections and during 2014 general elections, when he predicted comfortable victory for TDP in AP and TRS in Telangana.
It is learnt that Octopus Rajagopal took up survey in Bihar and predicted that BJP-led NDA would comfortably win the elections. There are rumours that Chanakya poll survey organisation is the benami of Rajagopal which conducted this survey. However, when actual results were out today in Bihar, BJP was seen nowhere and Nitish Kumar alliance recorded a grand victory. But some insiders say, Lagadapati’s survey also detected humiliating defeat for BJP in the survey but he deliberately manipulated survey results in favour of BJP to please BJP leadership with an intention of coming out of financial crisis and bank loan default being faced by his Lanco Group with the assistance of NDA government.
Pic Talk: Dirty Selfie Of Prabhas & Anushka
Here’s the Tollywood’s most successful onscreen pair, a muddy Prabhas and Anushka, posing or a selfie during the making of the epic ‘Baahubali rescuing Devasena’ scene in the magnum opus Baahubali. this photograph was unveiled by Prabhas himself as he wished Anushka saying, “Wishing the sweetest person I know, our beloved Sweety, a very Happy Birthday!” on 6th November.
Apart from the historical blockbuster of Baahubali, Prabhas and Anushka paired up with each other for two more successful films in the past, Mirchi and Billa. Both the best friends will once again be seen in the second part of Baahubali, the Conclusion, which is due for a release in 2017.
After Mega & Nandamuri, It’s Akkineni
Fondly called as a ‘Blockbuster producer’, Bandla Ganesh is knwon for his ardent worshipping of Mega family heroes, be it Chiru, his god Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan. Bandla in fact produced films with all the leading Mega heroes and narrowly missed bankrolling Chiru’s 150th film.
Apart from the Mega heroes, Bandla Ganesh also produced Baadshaah and Temper with NTR and the flood of praises he heaped on NTR was a talk of the town those days. But after getting stuck into legal tangle and the following Auto Jhonny fiasco, Bandla Ganesh seemed to have been sidelined by the Mega family as he is hardly seen in Mega family events.
Now, looks like Bandla Ganesh is shifting his loyalties towards the Akkinenis. After a series of tweets praising Akhil to the hilt, Bandla Ganesh even flew down to Vizag last night to participate in the Akhil platinum disc event. Speaking on the occasion, Bandla Ganesh said that Akhil will rule Tollywood for the next 40 years and even expressed confidence that fans will watch Akhil at least 5 times.
Needless to say, Akhil, Vinayak and all the fans who are present were amused by Bandla’s enthusiastic speech. With rumors of Bandla Ganesh producing Akhil’s next, his association with the Akkineni’s is only adding fuel to the fire.
Loafer Theatrical Trailer Response
Mega Prince Varun Tej’s Loafer first theatrical trailer was released this morning. We start the talk of the trailer with the positives. Like all Puri heroes, Varun Tej was also given a makeover. His styling and the action sequences are impressive.
On the flipside, still the body language and dialogue delivery of Varun is not at ease. Also the movie has the shades of Puri’s previous films like Ek Niranjan and Chirutha especially the Good mother in Flashback part.
Some how the trailer is not impressively cut. We will have to see how the movie will be. Rumours are rife that the movie will be releasing for Sankranthi but there is no official word yet about it.
Ruthless Layoffs won’t Make Hiring Easy for Startups
Layoffs over emails, town halls or through press releases at short notices before a festival show immaturity, human resources experts sayAs startups including Zomato and TinyOwl let go of employees because of changed strategies or shrinking funds, experts warn that the recent rush of layoffs could undermine hiring for India’s emerging businesses. “Startups are a risky business, many of them fail,” said K Ganesh, founder of entrepreneurship platform Growth Story. But “when a crisis hits, it needs to be handled maturely.” Indian startups requiring thousands of engineers and other skilled workers now compete with large technology companies for talent. But as online social media forums become venting grounds for laid-off employees and draw wide attention, startups face reputation risk that can cause serious damage to future hiring plans, experts warned.
“Decisions about layoffs should be conveyed in a cascading manner,” said Hema Ravichandar, independent human resources adviser and former global HR head at Infosys. “Such decisions at the time of festivities may have a lasting impact on future hiring.” At TinyOwl, two co-founders were held hostage by employees last week after they sprung a surprise second round of layoffs a week ahead of Diwali -ridding more than 300 personnel in about two months. Zomato in October laid off about 300 employees, many of them in the US, and Housing has sent away about 600 people this year. HelpChat is laying off about 150 employees, and online grocery retailer LocalBanya is also asking people to leave.
“I was asked to submit my access card when I arrived at the office,” said an employee of a Gurgaon based startup. “The CEO did not even bother to offer an explanation.” Layoffs over emails, town halls or through press releases at short no tices before a festival betray immaturity, human resources experts said. “India’s culture is yet to adapt to the hire-and-fire mentality as there is no social security like in the West,” said Ravichandar. “Startups should learn to do more with less.” Experts advised setting expectations at the time of recruitment at a startup. “Even before you hand over an offer letter… ask if the person is open to such risk,” said Harish Kumar, CEO at human resource consultancy Wenger and Watson that counts Flipkart and Amazon among clients.
Startups often also lack the expertise to handle layoffs as do large companies. “In big companies, we have outplacement strategies and experts to blunt the impact of a layoff,” said Ramgopal Rao, president at executive search firm Steinbach & Partner. “They would counsel laid-off employees and help them polish their CVs.” Even so, not all startups are resorting to knee-jerk downsizing.Struggling food ordering app SpoonJoy, which in October agreed to be bought by hyperlocal delivery startup Grofers, sent daily updates on its crisis, softening the eventual blow to employees.
“From the data-entry guy to the head of engineering, we were very transparent about our situation,” said Manish Jethani, cofounder and CEO. “We also got about 200 of our delivery staff placed in other companies such as Roadrunnr, Shadowfax and other agencies.” Ganesh of Growth Story took a similar approach at an earlier venture, TutorVista. “When we had to let go of onethird of our staff at Tutorvista (during the global economic crisis) in 2008, I addressed the employees personally. We gave them three months’ notice even though one month was the norm,” said Ganesh. “A few months later when things got better, we actually hired half of the people back.”

The “Rockstar” fame actress, who was also part of films like “Madras Cafe”, “Phata Poster Nikhla Hero”, is currently busy shooting for the biopic on former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin titled “Azhar”.
Nargis is playing the role of Sangeeta Bijlani, the second wife of Azharuddin.
Bihar Verdict: Has The ‘Modi Magic’ Faded ?
New Delhi: The Bihar poll outcome has come as a big disappointment for the BJP whose efforts to rake up extraneous issues like beef-eating and Pakistan, which were not considered germane by a politically conscious electorate, led to a drubbing that the party leadership least expected.Analysts said the results were without doubt a personal defeat for Narendra Modi, who staked a lot in the campaign, was its most visible face and addressed more rallies than any other prime minister in a state election.
The BJP, which announced “development” as its main plank, kept changing its election pitch apparently realising that the Grand Alliance of Janata Dal-United, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress was putting up a well-knit cohesive fight and giving it a run for its money. In came acute sarcasm on remarks of RJD leader Lalu Prasad on beef eating. In the fifth and last phase, the BJP inserted advertisements in local dailies about Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s silence on remarks on beef eating in an apparent effort at polarisation. In a damning indictment of the party’s campaign at what was seen as “communal polarization”, the Election Commission had to step in to stop release of more such advertisements.
Some of Modi’s remarks were seen as aimed at evoking loyalties of caste and community. He talked of Lalu Prasad not honouring tradition of Yaduvanshis and accused the Grand Alliance leaders of attempts to give away part of reservation quota on religious lines — an allusion to Muslims. Modi struck some false notes in his campaign addressing more than 25 well-attended rallies. His repeated talk of power shortage in Bihar found few takers as delivery of electricity had vastly improved in Bihar in the 10 years that Nitish Kumar had been chief minister. Modi’s talk of “Darbhanga module” in his last election speech and his poser whether people wanted “a government in Patna that protects terrorists” raised many eyebrows.
BJP president Amit Shah, who also addressed a large number of rallies, did his bit in stoking controversy and said that if BJP loses in Bihar, “crackers will go off in Pakistan”. Modi and Amit Shah’s repeated references to “jungle raj” had few takers for which Lalu Prasad had a riposte Sunday when he said “if Bihar has jungle raj, we are today all kings in that jungle”. The election verdict, in which the BJP is poised to finish third behind JD-U and RJD, is likely to have ramifications both for Modi and Amit Shah with dissenters, who had chosen so far to remain silent, expected to raise their pitch in the coming days.
Modi had announced a Rs.1.25 lakh crore package for Bihar prior to the polls but failed to convince people on his promises of development. Vijay Pratap, national convenor of Socialist Front, a socialist organisation which is not into electoral politics, said the electoral verdict was “personal defeat of faces of Modi which are divisive”. He said Modi has many faces with one face talking of development, another of “sabka saath, saabka vikas” and other faces being divisive. “This is defeat of his style, his amoral politics where he lost connection between means and ends,” Pratap, who is also involved with South Asian Dialogues on Electoral Democracy, told IANS.
“He used his divisive face in this election which is very sad for democracy,” he said, noting that the BJP’s insertion of advertisement on cows in the last phase of the five-phased assembly polls had sought to “distort public discourse”. Pratap said there was an attempt to catalyze communal and caste polarisation. Referring to Modi announcing the development package, he said “the way he announced it was an insult to the people of Bihar”. Pratap said Modi had addressed the largest number of rallies by a prime minister in a state election and no prime minister had “shown such partisanship” but it will take some time to prick the “Modi bubble”. “Opposition parties will have to put their heads together in polls in Punjab, Uttar Prdesh and West Bengal,” he said. Veteran journalist and political commentator Kuldip Nayar said the “magic of Modi has faded”.
“He put his reputation at stake by addressing so many rallies. His magic will wane within the party also,” he said. Nayar said there was an indirect effort at polarisation by the BJP in the Bihar polls and it remains to be seen if the party learns its lessons. Political analyst and senior journalist S. Nihal Singh said the verdict was certainly a personal defeat for Modi. After all, he was the chief campaigner of his party,” Nihal Singh told IANS. BJP’s campaign posters also centred around Modi and Amit Shah with marginal representation of local leaders.
Nihal Singh said advertisement in newspaper pertaining to the cow and eating of beef and Shah’s remarks about crackers bursting in Pakistan were attempts at polarisation. He said BJP’s earlier formula of Modi being the face of the election campaign did not click. “The Modi wave has waned,” he said, adding that there was disappointment among the people on development promises also as Modi had promised a lot ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He also said there was a healthy convention earlier of the prime minister not getting too much involved in state elections.

‘Mokshagna Is My Competitor’
Gone are the days of the legends of Telugu cinema NTR, ANR, Krishna, Krishnam Raju. Here are the days of their legacy and Lineage. While ANR’s grandson and T towns handsomest is having his big grand release on the day of festive of lights, he also let out a good news about another legendary lineage being launched into the Filmdom and names him his competitor.
The lineage being carried forward is the legacy of every Telugu speakers pride and God Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s. It’s his grandson Nandamuri Mokshagna, Akhil stated Mokshu was being launched soon and named him his competitor on a funny note while on a television talk show.
Also to be noted, NTR was senior to ANR and same was the case with fathers of these young charms. Nandamuri Bala Krishna was launched prior to Akkineni Nagarujuna but anyways they are all the standing pillars of Telugu cinema and we hope the younger generation too carries forward the charisma and legacy of their fathers and forefathers.
On a side not you can only wage a war with equals so is Mokshagna coming as prepped up as the latest Akkineni boy? Wohoo!! Good glad day to Telugu Cinema then!!
No Sentiment, Puri Sticks To Loafer
Well, till a few days back, there was talk that Puri’s film will Varun Tej will be called Maa Amma Mahalakshmi. The film has a story that has a good mother character and it was said that the title has been changed from Loafer to Maa Amma Mahalakshmi. Then, Puri showed the rushes of the film to Ram Gopal Varma and he too suggested a title change in keeping with the film’s subject. So Puri too talked of title change and of mother sentiment, etc.
But now the latest update is that Puri has decided to stick to his earlier choice of Loafer. Apparently, he decided to let go of Varma’s suggestion and retain the title. Now, some feel that Loafer is too harsh a title for a film. In the past, Puri had made Idiot and it was a huge hit, but industry insiders feel Idiot made a better title when compared to Loafer. This time around, Puri is adamant and Varun Tej’s film will be called Loafer.
Bunny’s Caution: Stop, Look And Proceed
Allu Arjun has emerged as a dependable star of late. Back to back hits with Race Gurram and S/o Satyamurthy made him a big star who could spin miracles at box office if comes up with impressive content that is made in a decent budget.
Going by the craze, Bunny could have easily signed 3-4 directors in a row for big production houses. After waiting for a time post his S/o Satyamurthy release, he has okayed Boyapati Sreenu’s Sarainodu that’s being produced by his dad Allu Arvind.
With a horde of directors like Gautham Menon, Gopichand Malineni, Harish Shankar and others bouncing him scripts, Bunny is not okaying one single film. We hear that he’s going with the caution ‘Stop, Look, Proceed’ when it comes to his next projects.
Without looking into the result of his present film, it seems like Allu Arjun is not interested to proceed for his next. He will stop and look at box office reactions, and then proceed for his next movie. So, directors need to wait in line. Isn’t it Bunny?
Nobody Should Remake Premam
This 30th will see the official launch of Naga Chaitanya’s Majnu. The film is a remake of Malayalam industry hit Premam. While Akkineni fans are thrilled with expectations of Majnu recreating the same historic success in Tollywood, star Tamil director Selvaraghavan feels otherwise.
Couple of days ago, Selvaraghavan watched Premam and was bowled by its magic. In a series of tweets, Selva expressed his amazement about the film and also about the remake and said, “As for remaking #premam, only one person can do it justice. That’s the one and only @alphonseputhren. others shouldn’t even try.”
Not stopping here, Selva further said that he cannot imagine anyone else but the film’s actor Nivin Pauly for the lead even in remakes. Interestingly, Selvaraghavan was rumored to be remaking Premam in Tamil with Vijay Sethupathi in good brother Dhanush’s production. Let’s hope that the Majnu team will prove Selva wrong.
Pic Talk: Mahesh Madness On Small Screen
Here are some of the pictures that show the madness for Mahesh Babu. Today, Mahesh’s Srimanthudu had its world TV premiere and fans and family audiences made it a blockbuster once again on TV. A lady and fan are seen offering Haarathi to Mahesh as he appeared on the screen. Such craze was existent during NTR, ANR days.
Scores of such photographs have been splashing all over the internet, with several kids and elders too catching up with the premiere. Around a week ago, India’s biggest blockbuster Baahubali created a huge site during its TV premiere. The telecast even broke several existing records in the TRP ratings history. Now, looks like it’s Superstar Mahesh Babu’s turn now.
Tamannah Does Item Songs For Him Only !
Tamannah, who is back in top league of actresses thanks to the super success of Baahubali worldwide, has done another item song in Tollywood. Her second item song is also for hero Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas.Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas, son of popular producer Bellamkonda Suresh, had made debut last year in Alludu Seenu and in which Tamannah did the item song as the producer paid highest amount for any heroine for item song. The song was a hit.
A year later, she completed shooting for another item song for the same hero but this time she reportedly did it for the friendship she shares with Bellamkonda Srinivas.
She recently completed shooting for this movie which is directed by Bhimaneni Srinivas Rao.
She is also paid handsomely, we are told. The question arises whether Tamannah does item songs only for Bellamkonda?
