Mega hero Varun Tej earned laurels for his mature acting as Dhoopati Hari Babu in Kanche. The film is running successfully and Varun could not have asked for more. Now, as per the latest buzz in the T-town, the handsome Mega lad will soon team up with mass entertainers specialist Gopichand Malineni.

Sources further say that Gopichand recently met Varun and Naga Babu and narrated a story, which the father-son duo liked immensely and apparently gave a go ahead. Gopichand is now busy giving finishing touches to the script, which is said to be a sports-based film with ample doses of comedy and romance.

Producers Nallamalupu Srinivas and Tagore Madhu will be producing this film. Incidentally, both the producers launched Varun Tej with Mukunda. Pre-production work is in full swing and the shooting may kickstart in December. Until a few days ago, Veeru Potla was also in talks with Varun Tej and looks like the Mega family voted for Gopichand Malineni in the end.

Once a delay hits a cinema, various rumours always rotate and revolve around it. As “Akhil” got pushed away from releasing on October 22nd, it is being speculated that the film hasn’t come out well. Though Nitin and Nagarjuna clarified that it’s the quality of CG work that bothered them and they have postponed only to give some quality visual effects, speculations haven’t died down.

Latest rumours are that Nagarjuna disliked few scenes and climax as well. Director Vinayak is said to be reshooting a lot of parts as to the like of the senior Akkineni hero. Putting a full stop to all these gossips doing rounds, Akhil gave a clarity.

“Just clearing the air ! There is no reshoot of any sort happening for #Akhil Lots of rumours going around which are completely false !!”, (sic) tweeted Akhil, today evening.

We hear that “Akhil” is heading for a November 11th release and the date will be confirmed once censor work gets completed. Featuring Akhil and Sayesh Saigal in the leads, “Akhil” has VV Vinayak in the director’s seat while Nitin is the producer.

Ace designer Archana Kochhar has designed the wedding costumes for cricketer Harbhajan Singh and actress Geeta Basra who will tie the knot on Friday. “Geeta wanted an extremely traditional look for all the important occasions, so we decided to go with lehengas, attached dupatta and a crop-top blouse with an Indian work on it,” Kochhar said in a statement.

She added that Geeta and Harbhajan knew exactly what look they wanted for the wedding. While Geeta was specific about her colours, Harbhajan wanted to go for something classic and simple.

“For the mehendi ceremony, Geeta will be sporting a lime yellow kurti and pink lehenga with antique silver work. For the chuda ceremony, it will be an orange lehenga made of Ahimsa silk.

“The wedding lehenga will be in traditional red-and-gold combination accessorized by a nath, a matha patti and a tika with a beautiful head dupatta to complete the ensemble. The reception lehenga will be in electric blue colour with mirror work and sequins,” said Kochhar.

Harbhajan, on the other hand, will go for “an off-white, self-on-self embroidered sherwani with an ornate red sword.”

“He keenly took part in the selection of his outfits. For the Gurudwara, he will sport an achkan with breeches or churidaar, and a turban. He too has opted to wear an outfit made of Ahimsa silk for one function,” said the designer.

The wedding celebrations will be spread over five days, including mehendi, sangeet, pheras and reception, which will take place here on November 1. The reception is likely to see big names such as Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli, and many Bollywood celebrities.

Hyderabad, Oct 27: Chiranjeevi gold coins, with the actor’s face embossed on it were released. Chiranjeevi Fans Association of North America has launched the gold coins.

Chiranjeevi launched the gold coins in the presence of the association members at a programme held in the city yesterday.

On this occasion, the fans brought a special book on Chiranjeevi. The book has the details of Chiranjeevi’s films in Telugu, Hindi and other languages. There was a mention of social services being conducted by Chiranjeevi and his political career, in the book.

Though Chiranjeevi expressed happiness for acting with his son in Bruce Lee film, he has not revealed about the plans of his 150th movie.

As per the Film Nagar buzz, actress Chandini Chowdary is out of Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam. Chandini recently shot for a song alongside Mahesh Babu in Brahmotsavam. While the exact reasons for her ousted are not yet known, sources say that makers decided to chop portions of Chandini in the film.

Chandini was roped in for a small role which has few scenes and a brief presence in the special song on Sangeet ceremony of Chandini. Now makers decided to cut her portion.

Shot to fame with short films, Chandini recently made her silver screen debut with Ketugadu which turned out to be a dud. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s ‘Sher’ was earlier supposed to be released on October 22 as a Dasara gift to Nandamuri fans. However, the movie’s release was postponed at the eleventh hour. And now the movie is slated for release on October 30.

Had ‘Sher’ been released on October 22 itself, it would have faced a big competition from other releases like ‘Kanche’, ‘Rajugari Gadhi’ and ‘Columbus’. Moreover the movie could not have got more number of theaters for release.

With the available reports, ‘Sher’ is going to be the only release on 30th. ‘Size Zero’ and ‘Kumari 21 F’, which were earlier scheduled for release on Ocotber 30, have been postponed to November. ‘Sher’ was directed by Mallikarjun. Sonal Chauhan has done opposite to Kalyan Ram in the film. Thaman has composed the music. Komara Venkatesh is the producer.

A newcomer Uday Nandanavanam is said to be directing hero Nikhil, whose film is titled “Shankarabharanam” and it is produced by none other than Kona Venkat. All these days everyone would have expected that Kona is giving chance to an youngster to become a director, but the newly launched promotional video proves something else.
