Megastar’s 150th film is probably the most talked about news apart from Baahubali in the last couple of years. There were innumerable stories about various directors trying to impress Chiranjeevi with a script.But nothing happened, Puri was slowly set aside and it was said that Chiranjeevi will do the remake of Tamil super hit Kaththi.

Meanwhile, he technically finished his 150th film in Bruce Lee. The film did not give the kind of response that the mega family had anticipated and that naturally got the megastar thinking all over again. Well, there has also been talk that Chiranjeevi cannot do a remake film as his 150th film. So, it is said that he is once again thinking about the remake.

Also, Vinayak has been put on hold as his film Akhil is up for release. Talk is that Chiranjeevi has decided to work with him if Akhil becomes a super hit. And some time back, there was talk that he wanted to do a film with Trivikram. However, after watching S/O Satyamurthy, he immediately dropped the idea.

While such behaviour is expected of small heroes who are desperate for hits, coming from Chiranjeevi it is a little surprising, as hits or flops, top directors surely know their craft and having been in the industry for nearly three and half decades, Chiranjeevi too is well aware of this.

Superstar Mahesh Babu is now showing interesting to make his daughter make her silver screen debut. Earlier his son Gautham appeared in a brief role in “1 Nenokkadine” movie as a childhood Mahesh. And now it’s the turn of Sitara it seems.

As the news spread that Sitara is debuting in “Brahmotsavam” for a small role, fans of the Superstar are little worried now. Blame content but not these sentiments, says cine critics, however fans are little uneasy over the appearance of Mahesh’s own kin in his film.

That’s because of the result ‘1 Nenokkadine’ garnered at box office. Earlier when Mahesh and Krishna turned up for ‘Vamsi’, that film also bombed at box office. Anyway, if a director carves out brilliant content, no sentiment would ever hamper a film’s chance.

Meanwhile, some insiders have ruled out the possibility of making Sitara act in “Brahmotsavam”, because she’s too young for the camera, they feel. Watch this space for updates.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s much discussed comeback film has been a point of several intense discussions and rumors ever since Chiru expressed his wish to return to the silver screen. After a series of brainstorming sessions in the Mega family, director Puri Jagannadh was chosen to helm the prestigious project, only to be ousted within a couple of months.

During the audio launch of Subramanyam for Sale, Chiru even gave an open offer to all the present day filmmakers and story writers to come up with a solid story and grab the chance to direct him. That aside, director VV Vinayak was lately confirmed unofficially to direct Chiru in the Telugu remake of Kaththi.

Even Ram Charan, in the promotional interviews for Bruce Lee, said that an official announcement about Chiru’s comeback film will be made before Dasara. Now, it’s been nearly 2 weeks since Dasara festival was over and there has been no news from the Mega camp yet.

When probed, we learnt that Charan made those statements as the Mega camp thought that Akhil would release on Dasara and that they will announce the Chiru-Vinayak combo after looking at Akhil’s box-office result. Apparently, Mega family is on a backtrack post Bruce Lee’s disaster. So, Mega fans can only expect some announcement after Akhil releases on Diwali.

Anushka now has one major film on hand and that is Baahubali 2. Apart from that, she barely has any film on hand and that has led to some industry insiders feeling that she has become the ‘Vijayashanti’ of today’s generation.Of late, she has been doing heroine-oriented roles and the industry is full of younger heroes. Also, since she has a rather large frame, not all heroes can be paired with her.

So, she is having trouble finding films these days. Unless some writer or director creates a special role for her, she will have a tough time feel some industry insiders. However, unlike Vijayashanti, Anushka has the advantage of working in both Tamil and Telugu. Already, she is doing Size Zero, which is a bi-lingual that stars Tamil Arya. And he is not a small hero in Tamil.

The film has come up really well, at least from the way promos look and she looks really chubby and cheerful. Also, unlike the time when Vijayashanti reached the fag end of her career, today the audiences are more tolerant to ageing heroines and the new-age film-makers too are experimenting with scripts.

While staying or quitting industry is Anushka’s personal choice, she might find roles suiting her age just like Vidya Balan, Kajol and Aishwarya Rai are managing in Bollywood. In fact, Anushka was also seen in the Tamil version of Enthavaadu Gaani which had Tamil superstar Ajith in the lead and in Linga which had south Indian superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. Since times have changed, she might do some more interesting films before she calls it a day.

Rakul has been quite busy these days and irrespective of whether her films are hits or failures, she is being signed opposite big heroes.Of course, she hasn’t come till Mahesh Babu as yet, but she has a film each with Allu Arjun and NTR. And the girl has been doing everything to catch the attention of Mahesh, though nothing has come up as yet.

Meanwhile, Gopichand Malineni is said to have approached her for a film with Varun Tej.

Talk is that the film will be set in a sports backdrop and Rakul will be playing the main lead. Talk is that Rakul hasn’t given her nod as yet.

However, since she has already worked with the director, it is being said that she might accept the film. But her wait for Mahesh continues.

Nagarjuna has finally announced that his son Akhil’s debut film, Akhil, will release on Diwali, November 11. The film was supposed to release on Dasara, October 22, but was postponed due to technical problems.Talking about the reason behind the late release of his son Akhil’s much-awaited debut film, Nagarjuna says, “Akhil’s film got postponed only because the special effects were not ready. We didn’t want to rush it. Why should we? What’s the hurry? If a postponement by a few weeks can enhance the VFX in Akhil we were all for it.”

The superstar adds that it’s quality and not speed that’s essential for his son’s debut.

“Akhil is young. He has all the time in the world. We want his debut to be special.”

“Rajamouli’s Baahubali and Eega were delayed by more than a year. They worked hard on making the special effects really special. Akhil’s film should be a polished product. Fans who are waiting to see him should not be disappointed.”

Rakul Preet Singh and Regina entered the industry around the same time. But Rakul Preet is the toast of the industry right now and Regina is still struggling to get a big break.Talk is that she constantly compares herself with Rakul Preet and wonders as to what she lacks. Well, right now, Bruce Lee has become a flop and Regina has a hit in Subramanyam For Sale.

Apparently, Regina has decided to use this opportunity and has sent out signals that she is open to do lip locks and bikini scenes. It is said that she feels she is a better actress than Rakul and since she has no qualms in exposing, she must be getting better chances. However, Regina has to remember that though Bruce Lee is a flop, Rakul got to act opposite Ram Charan in the film. Also, she has two films with big stars.

On the other hand, Regina has only films with small heroes of the mega family. And if one looks at it, a hit with a small hero is equivalent to a flop with a big hero. Well, let’s hope that some hero notices her and gives her the big break.

Mumbai: Actress Deepika Padukone says when it comes to acting, she is selfish.”We all work so hard on every movie and want each one to have its own space to do it… sort of properly. But I look at the overall picture, of course I am selfish as an actor,” Deepika said at the unveiling of the video of “Wat wat wat” song from her forthcoming film “Tamasha”.

Deepika is elated that this year has been one of the best.

“While ‘Piku’ has already released, now we have ‘Tamasha’ and then ‘Bajirao Mastani’. So, as an actor I am very happy,” said the 29-year-old.

Talking about “Tamasha”, she said: “‘Tamasha’ is something that talks about breaking stereotype and expressing things differently. And I think we were expressing the character’s mood differently, how one could normally express that.”

The movie also stars Ranbir Kapoor.
