Bruce Lee has seen an alarming drop on second day indicating that it will go down as one of the biggest failures in recent times.
Below par collections on second day added to the worries of third parties and exhibitors that have invested a lot in this film with the recent boom in Tollywood’s market.
Once again it is Ram Charan’s choice of script is to be blamed for this failure. It is Megastar Chiranjeevi who approves the scripts for Ram Charan films before the young hero gives a nod.
Although Chiranjeevi has great judgment over commercially viable scripts Charan cannot continue to play it safe in these days where the film lovers are looking for variety.
Racha, Nayak and Yevadu were commercially successful but they have branded Ram Charan as a hero who doesn’t offer any novelty.
Govindudu Andarivadele was different from his previous films but that had a stale script. Now Bruce Lee is another outdated script that has age old brother, sister sentiment as the main theme.
Scenes like hero waiting outside someone’s house for hours to get the attention seem absolutely ridiculous and dated to this generation’s audience. Movie lovers are ready to watch films like Rudrama Devi irrespective of the public talk just because of variety.
Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun don’t involve their fathers in selecting scripts. For example Aravind didn’t like the idea of Allu Arjun doing a character like Arya. But Bunny believed in Sukumar’s script that has earned him identity.
He took risks of doing movies like Arya 2 and Vedam that elevated him as an actor. Charan should stop running after safe bet subjects and take some risks as soon as possible.
It is better to try some variety and fail rather doing a dated movie and fail, right?
The Story Behind Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan Meeting!
Ram Charan went to Sardaar Gabbar Singh location to meet his ‘babai’ Pawan Kalyan, who reportedly congratulated Charan on Bruce Lee’s success.
Charan recently said that he met Pawan on the sets of Sardaar to talk about the project that Powerstar is supposed to produce with him as the lead. Pictures were not clicked during that time and there is absolutely no media coverage for it.
Interestingly Ram Charan’s latest meeting was photographed and duly reported to the media. Here is an interesting insight about this meeting.
Mega family was shocked to see poor turnouts for Bruce Lee in spite of Chiranjeevi’s cameo and superb publicity. They were so alarmed that they have immediately sat together to analyze what went wrong with the movie.
Mega fans that have always stayed loyal and gave great openings to each and every mega movie showed little interest in Bruce Lee. Many fans shows had to be cancelled due to low attendance.
One of the reasons that Mega family has detected is Pawan fans non cooperation for Bruce Lee it seems.
Pawan’s fans were seriously hurt by Nagababu’s comments against them at Chiru’s 60th birthday event. They decided to stay away from Bruce Lee which is one of the reasons for poor turnouts for fans shows.
So Charan immediately went to meet Pawan Kalyan to send right signals to the mega fans. This may not help Bruce Lee to recover from the damage that was already done, but it would clear the air to keep all the mega fans united so that similar situations don’t arise in the future.
Lagadapati To Shun ‘Political Sanyas’ With Rs 100 Cr?
‘Samaikhyandhra champion’ Lagadapati Rajagopal, who took ‘political sanyas’ in 2014 to protest the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and formation of Telangana State, is all set to return to ‘active politics’ soon.
The two-time Congress MP from Vijayawada, is reportedly making ‘active moves’ to join ruling Telugu Desam and is in touch with party leadership.
However, he is shunning ‘political sanyas’ of nearly 19-months not for free and just like that. He reportedly offered Rs 100 crore to TDP for giving him ‘admission’, while his political rivals term it as ‘donation’ for seat.
When he offered that much amount of money being a high profile businessman, his expectations in return would also be naturally on the same lines.
Lagadapati is said to have sought his favourite Vijayawada MP seat and expressed his desire to contest as TDP candidate in 2019 elections from the same seat.
Let’s see how this ‘political deal’ works out in the end.
Will Andhras Welcome His Presence?
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu will be inviting his Telangana counterpart to attend the foundation ceremony of Amaravathi.
Normally, one would say that he is just maintaining protocol by inviting K Chandrasekhar Rao and showing courtesy.
But given the strained relations between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh which were initiated by KCR, it will not come as a surprise if the majority of people in AP were to oppose KCR’s presence in their state.
It is KCR who is responsible for the Andhras having to build a new capital from scratch. KCR and his family resorted to the vilest and foulest language possible against the Andhras during the T-agitation and still continue to do so.
Statue of ‘Telugu Thalli’, the symbol of the Andhras was defaced and visiting faculty of professors from Andhra was manhandled in OU.
One can understand if the Telangana agitation was based on a need for self-determination. But it was based on the plank of hatred: hatred against the Andhras.
After accusing each other in the cash-for-vote scam and section 8 issues, KCR and Chandrababu might find the occasion apt to patch up and pursue their individual interests.
But the Andhras can never forgive KCR. And as CM of AP, Chandrababu would do well to recognize and honor this sentiment. But then, when has he ever respected public sentiment?
Modi Serious On AP’s ‘Lavish Spending’ For Amaravati!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is to attend as chief guest for laying the foundation for AP’s new capital Amaravati on October 22, is reportedly serious on ‘lavish spending’ by AP government on the ceremony despite the state facing severe financial crunch.
The Prime Minister’s Office is said to have dashed off a letter to AP government to clarify immediately on media reports stating that the AP government was spending over Rs 400 crore for a single day event.
It also sought to know what is the difference between ‘bhoomi pooja’ and ‘shankhusthapana” (foundation laying ) since AP Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu already conducted bhoomi pooja for Amaravati on June 6 and why foundation is being laid again now by spending crores of rupees.
The PMO asked AP government to clarity all these things in written immediately so that the PM will take a call on whether to take part in such a programme or not.
The PMO is also said to be serious over AP government inviting Prime ministers of Singapore and Japan for the ceremony in violation of protocol norms.
According to sources, some BJP leaders, including from AP including union minister Venkaiah Naidu felt extravagance with tax-payers’ money would send a wrong signal to the Prime Minister at a time when state is making all-out efforts to get more funds from the Centre and brought this issue to the notice of Modi.
AP government is now struggling to clarify on the expenditure and reportedly asked officials to ensure that expenditure does not cross Rs 10 crore at least on the paper to be sent to PMO.
Jagan Batch Relentless Attack On Chiranjeevi
Puri Jagannadh was hurt when Chiranjeevi openly stated that he didn’t like the second half of script narrated by the senior director.
Puri went on to say that Chiranjeevi should have told him that he has problems with the second half so that he would have made changes to his liking.
Puri Jagannadh is apparently unhappy with Chiranjeevi saying that to media without any diplomacy.
Although Mega Family still doesn’t count Bruce Lee as Chiranjeevi’s 150th film, this is his landmark movie for sure. Why because Chiranjeevi completed 149 films till date only after counting his cameo appearances in movies like Handsup, Style and Magadheera.
With Bruce Lee turning out to be a disappointment and second half of the film being criticized, Jagan and his batch are having the last laugh.
Ram Gopal Varma has been repeatedly posting a series of tweets against Chiranjeevi and his choice of doing Bruce Lee as his 150th film. He is also making fun of Chiranjeevi for choosing to remake Kathi for his reentry.
Jagan’s best buddy Charmi has posted a sarcastic tweet with so many emojis right when the verdict of Bruce Lee is out.
Why Is Chiranjeevi Silent?
Former union minister and Congress leader K Chiranjeevi is off all activities concerning his political party.
Chiranjeevi has also stopped meeting the press regarding political issues as he feels it is not the right time for politics.
So, for now, megastar is all focused on films. He plans to do three films this time around and he will then get back into politics.
With Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee his second innings has begun in films. And it is being said that he has plans to revive his political career in 2018.
Sher Censor Tomorrow
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Sher will be placed for censor scrutiny tomorrow. There is a sudden void at the box office for Dussehra with the postponement of Akhil and Bruce Lee’s flop result. And so the makers are trying to release the film on Vijaya Dasami day.
The movie will have a clash with Varun Tej’s Kanche on that day but they feel there will not be major effect as Varun Tej is still not proven and also the movie is of a different genre. It has to be seen if Sher manages to release for Vijaya Dasami completing all the formalities.
Sonal Chauhan who appeared in films like Legend and Pandaga Chesko, is romancing Kalyan Ram in this film. Kaththi fame Mallikarjun is wielding megaphone for this film. Nandamuri fans hope that this film will be one more hit in Kalyan Ram’s career like the recent blockbuster, Pataas.
Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo in Last Schedule
The last schedule of Naga Chaitanya’s Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo is currently going on in Chennai. By the end of this schedule, the entire shooting part will be complete. The makers are planning to have the audio launch event in November and release the movie for December.
The first look teaser of the film which was released couple of months ago, garnered good response. The movie is a bilingual and the Tamil version has Simbu playing the lead role. Rumours are rife that Rana will appear in a little cameo in the film.
Malayali girl Manjima Mohan is playing the female lead in both the versions. Ravindra Reddy is producing the film in Telugu under his Dwaraka Creations banner while Kona Venkat is co-producing it. World famous AR Rahman is the music composer.
Akhil in December?
Looks like there is a long delay on card for Akhil Akkineni’s debut movie, Akhil. The movie which was supposed to release for Vijaya Dasami was postponed due to poor quality CG work, the makers said. They refused to announce a release date before it is complete.
While every one are expecting November release for the movie, buzz from Akkineni camp is that the movie may be pushed to December. They say they are considering December 18th or 25th release for the movie.
Fans however are totally unhappy with this development. They feel a golden opportunity is lost with losing Dussehra release especially as Bruce Lee is heading towards a big flop. They are of the opinion it will be better to postpone the movie till Sankranthi for a better season release.
