‘Sardaar’ Pawan is Ready, Shaves Off Beard
Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and his beard have become a hot topic in the media as well as general discussions.Pawan never revealed the reason for growing that beard and didn’t shy away from media either. People started to believe that Pawan Kalyan has been doing this for his upcoming film Sardaar aka Gabbar Singh 2.
Power fans were not happy to see their glamorous hero look so clownish in that beard. Even some of Pawan’s diehard fans took potshots at their matinee idol in this regard.Although reasons behind the beard are not known, fans can rest assured that Pawan Kalyan is not going to appear in this look in Sardaar.
As per sources, Pawan Kalyan has got rid of the beard a week ago and is looking as charming as ever. His look from Sardaar will be revealed after Pawan joins the shoot in first week of August.
Pawan Kalyan will finish off Sardaar shooting by February/March and will start his next project immediately after that. He is already in talks with few directors for his next film.
Does Criticizing Baahubali Mean Anti-Telugu?
Any criticism of the movie ‘Baahubali’ is being met with shocked silence. It has almost become taboo to say anything even remotely negative against any aspect of the movie. Such has been the orchestrated media campaign.
Baahubali has become the highest ever grosser in the history of Tollywood. It also put Telugu cinema back at the helm as it made India sit up and take notice of its collections.
Now, as with any other movie, there will be people who like Baahubali and those who do not like it. But attempts to express a non-positive opinion on the film are being termed as anti-Telugu.
How can criticizing a movie be termed anti-Telugu? Admittedly, Baahubali has put the focus on Tollywood. There is no doubt about it.Yet, at the end of the day, it is just a movie and one can either like it or not. Therefore, attaching regional or cultural connotations to criticism is highly unfair and uncalled for.
PK does not make the Hindi speaking people superior to other Indians; neither does Baahubali make the Telugus superior to other Indians or Robo, the Tamilians.At the end of the day, we are all Indians, irrespective of our differences and a movie is just that, a movie and nothing more.
OMG! Akhil on par with Pawan and Mahesh
Akkineni Akhil is creating sensation among the film business circles even before his first film hit the screens.His debut film directed by VV Vinayak has turned so hot in the trade that buyers are shelling big bucks to bag the rights.
As per trade sources Akhil’s debut film distribution rights for Nizam and Karnataka were sold for Srinivas (Devi Films) for an astronomical price.
The said buyer acquired the rights of Akhil, Vinayak’s film for 18 crore (14 crore Nizam + 4 Crore Karnataka). This is huge for a debut hero as superstars like Mahesh and Pawan Kalyan movies have such demand in Nizam territory.
Despite this being produced by Nithin, his distribution company is not releasing it in Nizam as they got this resounding offer.Total theatrical business of this film is estimated to be around 40 to 42 crore, which is humongous for a debut hero.
Akhil should score a blockbuster to take buyers to the safe zone. Nithin has spent so much money on the film as he believed that Akhil has the potential.So Nithin’s confidence in Akhil and Vinayak has been paying off rich dividends.
Baahubali two weeks collections!
SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus film, Baahubali had completed its two weeks run at the box office. The movie had amassed more than 86 Crore share only in AP and Nizam which is more than outstanding in this two weeks run.
The movie had slowed down a bit in the last couple of days due to the working days effect. But it is expected to pick up by the evening shows of today and will have a good weekend even in its third week.
