South Indian Film Targets Hollywood

Director Shankar’s last movie ‘I’ grossed over Rs 200 crores, despite mixed reviews. Although Vikram is a star hero, major reason for the grand collections is Shankar. Known for making high budget films engagingly, Shankar will next work with Superstar Rajinikanth for Robo (Enthiran) sequel. Buzz is that, Amy Jackson will essay lead heroine in the flick.

The film tentatively titled Robo 2 (Enthiran 2) will be launched on Rajinikanth’s birthday (December 12th). The graphical extravaganza will be made on a lavish budget, bigger than Rajamouli’s Baahubali. After capturing China and other International markets with Robo and I, Shankar is now targeting Hollywood market with Robo 2.

For that, Shankar is bringing in Arnold Schwarzenegger to play baddie in the film. When the makers approached Arnold recently, the former Mr Universe said he is interested to work with Shankar. During I audio launch also, Arnold said he is keen on teaming up with Shankar if given a chance.

In fact, Arnold’s presence will certainly help Robo 2 to grab Hollywood market. AR Rahman who is familiar to Hollywood spectators will render tunes for the movie for which Hollywood technicians will work on graphical works. Let’s see whether Robo 2 will break Baahubali records!

Vakkantham Vamsi finally gets NTR’s nod

Writer Vakkantham Vamsi who was waiting on sidelines for NTR’s nod to become director finally got his nod. The project will be launched in late February or early March. However the movie will start rolling only in the second half of 2016.

NTR wants to complete the shooting of his next, NTR26 with Koratala Siva and release it before shifting his focus on to Vakkantham’s project. So the project may see light towards the end of 2016 or early 2017 NTR’s brother, Kalyan Ram will be producing the film on his NTR Arts banner.

Kalyan Ram who suffered a massive flop recently with Kick-2, is banking on this project to be back on success track.

Sumanth Ashwin’s Columbus gets a Release date

Senior Producer MS Raju’s son, Sumanth Ashwin’s next ‘Coloumbus’ has completed its shooting part. The movie’s post production works are also nearing completions. The makers are planning the audio release event in this month itself and the movie is being planned for November 13th release.

The movie is a romantic entertainer directed by a new comer, R.Samala. Despite showing some promise, Sumanth Ashwin is yet to fire at the box office, he had pinned high hopes on this film to make a mark. Run Raja Run fame Seerat Kapoor is romancing Sumanth Ashwin in this film.

Chinnadana Nee Kosam fame Mishti will be seen in a special role. Jatin Roshan is composing the music while Bhaskar Samala is cranking the camera. A new producer is lolling out the money bags for this project.

One more Chiru remix for Sai Dharam Tej

Mega scion Sai Dharam Tej had used the remix of Guvva Gorinkatho from Khaidi No 786 in Subramanyam For Sale and the movie went on to become a big hit. And repeating the same sentiment, he is planning to remix Megastar Chiranjeevi’s super hit song from Yamudiki Mogudu for his next, Supreme.

The regular shooting of Supreme began from last week. Earlier Chiranjeevi used to have Supreme title, this is well before he got the Megastar title and it comes with a caption ‘Don’t sound horn’. Sai Dharam Tej plays a cab driver in the movie.

The project will be handled by Pataas fame Anil Ravipudi. Sai Dharam Tej is very excited of the movie’s script as it comes from the stable of the director who bagged a sensational hit with his debut movie.

‘Jagan, Ask CM To Save Your Life’

YSRCP President YS Jagan’s deeksha reached its sixth day today. The party leaders have been alleging that the TDP government is not worried about jagans health and that it employed lower ranked doctors who have been checking Jagan’s health with faulty medical equipment.

The YSRCP party also said that the government is not issuing regular health bulletins of Jagan. Reacting to this senior TDP leader Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu said that Jagan earlier announced his ambitious fast unto death protest and that the YSRCP leaders should not worry about the health bulletins or the regular tests.

Stating further, the TDP leader said that if Jagan is so worried about his health he should directly ask the CM to save his life. Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu also clarified that he is not asking Jagan to die in his deeksha. The senior leader said that TDP will win the 2019 elections only if Jagan challenges them in the opposition.

Mahesh Doesn’t Have Time To Shop For Me!

With back-to-back films, Superstar Mahesh Babu is busiest star whose dairy is chock-a-block. The Srimanthudu star hardly finds time to go out and shop for himself, his darling wife and doting kids. And if you wonder who shops for him and kids, it’s none other than Namrata Shirodkar.

Divulging it, Mahesh’s better half and former Femina Miss India, actress Namrata shared, “Mahesh doesn’t have time to shop for me. Even it’s not fair for me to expect him to shop for me. In fact, I only shop for him. I love Dubai, America to shop. But I haven’t been to America in a while.”

Talking about superstar husband Mahesh, she adds, “Mahesh loves spending time with family. Whenever he gets free time, he likes to have fun with Gautam, Sitara. He loves traveling and likes to give us surprises by planning holiday trips without my knowledge.”

Censor Talk: Length Is Bruce Lee’s Weapon

As we reported earlier, October 16th release “Bruce Lee” finished its Censor formalities today after a special show is screened for the Board members today noon. So, what’s the result?

Reports have arrived that “Bruce Lee” is being awarded an U/A certificate with couple of cuts. Also the biggest asset of this movie is going to be the length of the movie. Censor Board has certified 146 minutes of runtime for the film.

Earlier Sreenu Vytla has received the biggest flak of his life with “Aagadu”, where runtime of 165 minutes is considered to be one of the biggest minuses of the film. Many movies like “Kick2” and “Shivam” most recently are flops due to their unbearable run time and chopping of some scenes post release haven’t’ helped much.

Taking care of the length issue, Sreenu Vytla has made sure that 2 hours 26 minutes will wrap up “Bruce Lee” on silver screen. That’s really a bearable time for audiences and there will be no scope for lags and slow-downs in the content too at such time.

We have to say length is going to be Bruce Lee’s weapon in case Sreenu Vaitla stuffed all ingredients properly and perfectly.

Jagan’s Deeksha Is Very Painful: YS Bharathi

YSRCP President YS Jagan’s indefinite fast with the demand of special status for AP has entered its 6th day. This morning, the doctors expressed concerns over Jagan’s weakening health condition and they already advised him to withdraw his fast. Yesterday, Jagan’s wife YS Bharathi met Jagan and enquired about his health.

Speaking on this occasion, Bharathi said that Jagan’s has not been eating for the last 6 days and that it is extremely painful for her to see Jagan in such condition. YS Bharathi also expressed concerns over Jagan’s dropping sugar levels and ketones and said that Jagan has become too tired and weak.

Lashing out at the TDP ministers who mocked saying that the YSRCP is fooling people with wrong sugar levels of Jagan, YS Bharathi said that it is wise of the ministers to talk about their developmental activities intsead of making fun of a man who is fasting for a cause.

Meanwhile, Jagan’s mother and YSRCP Honorary President YS Vijayamma has once again left for Jagan’s deeksha premises in Guntur, following the doctors’ reports of Jagan’s weakening health. Even Jagan’s sister YS Sharmila is said to be on her way from Bengaluru to see her brother.

They Rejected Rudhramadevi

Gunasekhar’s magnum opus Rudhramadevi is the talk of the town. Taking critics, trade analysts by surprise, the movie is setting cash registers ringing at the Box Office. The Anushka Shetty-Allu Arjun starrer, which opened to mixed reviews, garnered good collections in two Telugu states much to the surprise of many. Even the historic drama is faring well in overseas. As per the trade sources, the Telugu version alone grossed Rs 25 Crore share world-wide in the first three days (including Thursday premiers)

However, the movie which was simultaneously released in Hindi, failed to repeat the magic there. Trade analysts declared the film as super flop as the film’s collections were in no close to SS Rajamouli’s epic Baahubali. The Hindi-dubbed film couldn’t manage to pull in crowds to theatres.

Despite having Anushka Shetty (Baahubali fame) and Rana Daggubati ( who has hits like Dum Maaro Dum, Baby, Baahubali to his credit) as film’s lead cast, Rudhramadevi didn’t do well in Hindi. Apparently, there was no hype surrounding the film in Hindi unlike Baahubali. This said to have affected the Hindi-dubbed version.
For now, the Telugu version is doing well bringing cheer to its makers. Let’s wait and watch how the film going to fare in the coming week.

I’m Open to Work with Prakash Raj

The ugly war of words between director Sreenu Vaitla and actor Prakash Raj during Aagadu were something that Telugu audiences won’t forget in the near sight. The open rift between the duo had hit headlines and in fact, the duo complained one against in AP Film Chamber when things had turned further bitter. However, it’s a history and the duo called for truce.

Ask Sreenu Vaitla whether he would cast Prakash Raj in his upcoming films? Pat comes reply. Making it clear that he is open to work with Prakash Raj, Vaitla said, “Of course, I’m open to work with Prakash Raj in future. There are no permanent enemies in the industry. The differences we had arose in the spur of the moment. That’s past and we’re in happy space now.

In fact, I had stated then itself that I’d work with Prakash Raj.” Expounding further, he said, “As a director, I go by what my film needs. In fact, any director goes by this. If my film requires Prakash Raj, I’d definitely rope him in.”

Sreenu added that he patched up with writers Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan and stated that he would continue to work with them even after Bruce Lee. Vaitla said that he was fortunate to direct Chiranjeevi in his upcoming film Bruce Lee and stated that it was the best thing that happened to him during the making of the film. He said that Ram Charan evolved as an actor and he does the film with ease.
