Commemorating the 2nd death anniversary of the popular character artiste Real Star Srihari, a statue of Srihari will be unveiled this morning in Balanagar, Hyderabad. Senior director and former central minister Dasari Narayana Rao will unveil his favorite disciple’s statue.

Srihari was at the peak of his career when he suddenly succumbed to a serious liver ailment. The Real Star was shooting for Prabhu Deva’s Bollywood film Rambo Rajkumar in Mumbai, where he died at a hospital on 9th October 2013.

Several Tollywood celebrities and noted politicians from Telangana will be attending the statue unveiling ceremony today. A true Real Star, Srihari was also known for his generous social service and charity works. Srihari is survived by his wife and former actress ‘Disco’ Santhi and two sons.

Gunasekhar’s 80 crore historic magnum opus Rudhramadevi was off to a jittery start, with critics and normal moviegoers giving it mixed reviews. However, the film’s box-office performance in the first two days tells a different story altogether.

Rudhramadevi did a sensational pre-release business of close to 58 crore including all languages. At such a huge stake, the film needs to perform phenomenally at the box-office to recover the investments. Rudhramadevi’s first day collections exceeded all expectations and the day one share collected was of 9.17 crore in Telugu states and nearly $300,000 in the US.

The flying start on the opening day ensured a decent second day, as the film ended up collecting close to 4.45 crore share in Telugu states and $203,000 in the overseas areas. Even today, all the shows are declared advance housefulls and the final numbers are expected to be huge. Monday being the Columbus Day holiday in the US, Rudhramadevi has even more advantage at the box-office.

Now, Rudhramadevi’s box-office performance is much similar to that of Baahubali, which too was released to disappointing mouth talk and average reviews. However, Baahubali went on to become the country’s biggest hit.

While the hype surrounding Rudhramadevi is not as big as Baahubali, Rudhramadevi too looks all set to end up as a profitable venture, if it continues its steam until Bruce Lee releases.

The shooting of Nikhil’s next, Shankarabharanam is now complete. The audio release event of the movie will happen this month itself and the movie is planned in November as Diwali Special. The theatrical trailer of the film is being attached with the prints of Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee.

Kona Venkat has given story and screenplay to Nikhil’s next, Shankarabharanam. The movie is a crime comedy with a Bihar backdrop. The makers have shot the movie in very tough locales of Bihar and Pune. Some scenes are also canned in USA.

Nanditha is playing the female lead in the film in which Anjali is doing a special character. Apart from that, the film has a huge star cast with many popular actors. A new comer, Uday Nandanavanam is directing the film. Nikhil is on a high with back to back hits after Swamy Ra Ra and Karthikeya.

Gunasekhar’s Rudhramadevi has collected a whopping 4.3 Crore share on its second day which is superb for the talk and reviews it is carrying. The movie is particularly strong in Nizam where it registered impressive numbers on the day-2 too.

However the bandh effect had killed the collections to some extent in Nizam as noon shows were cancelled in many places. The movie is expected to put up similar performance on Sunday too. Here is the breakup of Rudhramadevi two days collections:

Well-known actress Taapsee Pannu will soon be seen in a brand new avatar in filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia’s yet-to-be-titled short film. The actress, who was last seen in the espionage thriller movie ‘Baby’ starring Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, will now be draped in a sari in the Marathi style. The actress will be donning a Maharashtrian look for the film, all with nose pins and hair buns.

The short movie, a love story as we hear, is being filmed in Mumbai right now and while the actress is busy shooting, she takes out some time for online shopping. Apparently, the actress is pretty much addicted to it and has been spending all her free time buying accessories or beauty products or fashionable clothing on her phone.

Aside from this film, Taapsee has a few other soon-to-be-released movies in hand and a contract with Tigmanshu Dhulia for a feature film.

After the successful ‘VIP’, a sequel featuring Dhanush, Amy Jackson, and Samantha is soon to hit the screens. While the movie was being referred to as ‘VIP 2′ as tentative title until now, its official title has been made public and is ‘Thangamagan’. However, ‘Thangamagan’ is also the name of a Rajinikanth starrer 1983 film, also featuring Poornima Bhagyaraj.

Apparently, ‘Thangamagan’ is not the only film name the superstar and his son-in-law have in common. Movie titles like ‘Padikkadhavan’, ‘Polladhavan’, and ‘Mappillai’ are also old Rajinikanth movies that are now the names of Dhanush’s films.

Andhra Pradesh government is planning to make Amaravati a hub of green buildings. The government after starting the capital construction will amend the existing building norms. According to that, the government will make it compulsory to have solar roof tops to every building.

These solar roofs tops should be able to meet the power demands of the building and will also get to see excess power to the government. The state government will offer the solar roof tops at subsidized rates to make them affordable.

Tamil veteran and legendary actress of over 1000 films Manorama has passed away in Chennai. The actress has been unwell for some time now and was a regular to hospital. She has breathed her last on October 10. Exact reason for her demise is yet to be known.

Rumors of her ill health reached a peak earlier in the year when hoax death news spread all over. The actress then came out and spoke to the media and confirmed her well being. She even said that few films are up her sleeve back then. This was in February, earlier in 2015. The last big film that she was part off was Suriya starrer Singham 2.

Manorama popularly referred to as Achi Manorama in Tamil is iconic more for her comedy acts. She is also a winner of National Award in Supporting Actress category. For her achievements in entertainment field she was bestowed with Padma Shri award in 2002. May her soul rest in peace.

After a long delay, Nandamuri Kalyanram’s action entertainer Sher finally had its audio launch this evening, with Young Tiger NTR releasing the audio. On the occasion of this star studded night, the film’s theatrical trailer has been released amidst huge fan frenzy.

Sher’s trailer glimpses a neatly packaged mass masala action entertainer in typical Nandamuri films flavor. Kalyanram looks at his best and infuses a lot of energy which was first unleashed in Patas. Kalyanram also surprised with a few fluid dance movements, which will be a huge treat for fans.
