Universal Hero Kamal Hassan’s Cheekati Rajyam is gearing up for release on November 10th as Diwali Special. The makers are planning to begin the promotions with a song release tomorrow. The movie shoot was completed long ago and currently the post production works are going on.

Strong Buzz emerging from Kollywood is that the movie is a heavily inspired from a French film in which the entire story takes place in one night. The movie which was extensively shot in Hyderabad and Chennai was wrapped up in a record 38 working days.

The movie being a bilingual, is a straight Telugu movie of Kamal after a very long time. Kamal Hassan’s associate Rajesh is directing the film. Trisha is pairing up with Kamal Hassan for the second time in her career after Manmadha Banam. The bilingual film is being produced by Kamal Hassan himself on his RajKamal Films International banner.

Despite his best efforts, Vishnu Manchu did not manage to bag the much needed hit with Dynamite. The actor is disappointed but not out. He started his next film, directed by G.Karthik Reddy and they have also completed the first schedule of the film.

The makers have canned few scenes on the lead pair in this schedule. The second schedule currently began in Hyderabad. The movie will be extensively shot in Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam. Some action part will be canned in this second schedule, They are planning to announce their title on Dussehra day.

Touted to be a love story with good feel, the movie has Jadoogadu fame Sonarika playing the female lead. The film will be produced by Palli Keshava Rao and D.Kumar under Sri Venkateswara Swamy Films banner. Anoop Rubens is the music composer. Vijay C Kumar is cranking the camera.

By the end of the last weekend, Subrahmanyam for Sale had completed its 11 days run at the box office. It has collected 16.6 Crore Share in the 11 days Worldwide. The movie got good crowds in its second weekend thanks to the disastrous result of Shivam.

The movie had collected 3 Crore Share in its second weekend. And from yesterday there are drops all over indicating that its run is nearing an end. The movie may be termed as a decent hit now.

Overseas is one territory which is the weakest for Ram Charan. He is yet to score a one million dollars gross there, a feat achieved by Nani twice. Doing too many mass films is also the reason for this but now Charan eyes an opportunity to make amends with Bruce Lee there.

Srinu Vaitla is a brand in Overseas and his films work there big time and so Charan is banking on Vaitla’s image now. Great India Films. the leading Overseas distributor had chalked out a wide release for the movie there.

The movie is releasing for Premieres on October 15th in a total of 350+ locations in Overseas and 220+ in North America alone. The film will rake in good numbers provided the reviews are good.

Presence of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s cameo will also help the film to some extent there. Efforts are on to ship the drives well in advance so that all the premieres are canned as per the schedule.

As the release date draws closer, things are getting increasingly difficult for Akhil. It is confirmed that a clash with Bruce Lee is inevitable and moreover Rudhrama Devi coming on 9th is making things difficult for getting more theaters. Adding to the misery, the holidays advantage is only for a single day.

Citing these reasons, RS Films backed out of Nizam distribution. Business in all the territories slowed down significantly. Nagarjuna and Vinayak want the movie to postpone to a later date but Akhil and Nithin would not listen.

Hence the movie is coming on October 22nd as planned earlier amid all the odds. Mass Masala director VV Vinayak is wielding megaphone for this film. The movie is a hot cake in trade and had witnessed never before business for a debutant.

Now the distributors are carrying high risk. Akhil had done prerelease business worth 47 Crore which is the highest ever for a new comer in the history of Telugu cinema.

That itself is a big win for this panel, whose undercurrent boss is hero Vishal Reddy. This guy is now getting ready to meet Telugu biggies like Chiranjeevi, Balayya and other superstars who got registered in Nadigar Sangam.

Of the 3500 members of that association, nearly 500 artistes are from Tollywood only. Whether Telugu biggies will travel all the way to Chennai to vote in this election or not is yet to be seen, but if they extend support to Vishal or senior heroine Radhika’s husband Sarath Kumar is something to be seen.

Redefining the quality of visual effects in Indian films, Rajamouli’s “Baahubali” has set the bars pretty high. They are at such unreachable pinnacle that other filmmakers who are attempting content that has computer graphics as a backbone are sweating a lot. All said and done, Vijay’s “Puli” is something aimed at “Baahubali” but has fallen flat on its face.

Neither an exciting story, nor the visual effects failed to create any impact. And now, another competitor in the same ‘visual effects’ genre is coming out. Gunasekhar’s “Rudhramadevi” has just 3 days to hit cinemas, on October 9th, we will witness another war film that’s based on history this time.

Trailers of Rudhramadevi have earlier won criticism for their amateurish graphics, for which our director-producer took time to render them to a higher quality. Along with some gripping narrative of Queen Rudramadevi’s historical greatness, these graphics should also impress audiences in order to succeed like a Baahubali. Else, the result will be Puli.

Delayed amidst high-drama with the income tax raids on the film’s hero Vijay and the producers, Puli missed out on a huge chunk of its premiere and early morning shows. Adding to the woes, critics and general audiences gave the film a huge thumbs down for its silly and jaded script. But, the first weekend collections show what a real Puli roar will be like.

Puli, at the end of its first weekend, grossed a humongous 68.4 crore worldwide, with a distributor share worth 35.15 crore. In overseas alone, Puli collected 14 crore, with a share of 7.80 crore. Another 2.75 crore in Karnataka and 2 crore in Kerala helped the matters to a great deal.

Coming to Telugu states, Puli reportedly grossed close to 6.8 crore, with a share of 4 crore. Despite such poor reviews and bad word of mouth, the worldwide weekend collections of Puli are the second highest of this year, after Shankar’s I.

The collections are also all-time second highest in Vijay’s career. While the long weekend did help Puli to a great extent, the party, unfortunately, seems to be over for the distributors, with steep fall in the collections.

Just a couple of days back, hottie Lakshmi Rai got full appreciation for sharing those ‘selfies’ she got clicked with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. Because that has in a way proven that “Sardar Gabbar Singh” shooting is actually going on, and that gave much relief to fans. All this good work, say good promotion, done by Lakhsmi Rai has gone haywire today.

Actually today also the unit is canning that hottest item number on Pawan and Lakshmi, and in between the shoots our hottie found a homeless puppy (small dog) on the sets. After taking that do into her lap, Lakshmi Rai has asked fans for a suggestion regarding the name she should give for that dog.

Finally she felt like, as she found the dog on Sardar Gabbar Singh sets, she named it as “Gabbar”. That hurts now.

Pawan fans have immediately shot back, how could you give a Pawan Kalyan title to a dog? some asked; Some went on blasting Lakshmi Rai for using the name and fame of Gabbar for her self image. Anyway, naming a dog with Pawan’s film title and name is not acceptable for these fans. We have to see what Lakshmi Rai will say.
