One of leading commercial directors in India, S Shankar is always known rnfor his big canvas films. Also he’s known for working with top class rntechnicians and actors. After making acclaimed “I”, he’s now coming up rnwith a sequel for his super hit “Robo” where he teamed with Rajnikanth rnyet again.
From a long time, a leading lady for this project rncouldn’t be finalised. Actually Shankar has repeated only two heroines rnin his career till now, Manisha Koirala and Aishwarya Rai. While he’s rnsmitten by Manisha’s beauty at that time, he repeated Aish years after rnJeans for Robo.
For this sequel of Robo, probably titled “Robo 2”, the rnlikes of Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif are considered for the role, rnwhile Aishwarya Rai is said to have no interest to play a commercial rnheroine. So, who’s the lead lady now?
We hear that Shankar can’trn get over the charms of British girl Amy Jackson, whom he showcased as arn red-hot model in “I” that released early this year. Convincing rnSuperstar Rajnikanth, we hear that Shankar is banking on his infatuationrn over this hot girl, by roping her as lead lady for Robo 2.
Rudhramadevi To Replace Puli
Filmmaker Gunasekhar’s most ambitious project Rudhramadevi hit the screens on 9th of this month in all the areas, except in Tamil Nadu. Rudhramadevi is a Telugu, Tamil bilingual. But, Tamil version’s release has been delayed owing to some reasons. Unavailability of theaters is prime cause for the postponement. Vijay’s Puli occupied most of the theaters in the neighboring state then.
Now, Rudhramadevi is set to replace Puli from most of the screens from 16th, as Tamil version will have screening from then on. Owing to deficit shares, Puli was already removed from several theaters in last week. With Rudhramadevi arriving this week, the Chimbu Devan directorial will disappear from most of the screens.
The Nandal Films which bought Rudhramadevi Tamil rights is planning to release the historical drama in 400 screens across Tamil Nadu. Makers have made it clear that the movie will be releasing in both 3D and 2D versions.
Allu Arjun and Anushka are recognizable for Tamil audience, while Rana Daggubati became household name in Tamil and other languages after the release of Baahubali.
On the other hand, Rudhramadevi is performing exceptionally well in Kerala. The film has grossed around Rs 1.63 crores in just 3 days, thanks to Allu Arjun’s craze in the state.
New Trend: Sound Teaser From Bengal Tiger
Mass Raja Raviteja is now waiting at the galleries like an injured tiger. He wants to bounce back so strongly that his roar is going to rake up huge moolah at box office.
After the flop show of Kick 2 at box office, Mass Raja is more concerned about a success, a big commercial hit, that is eluding him from a long time. He is coming up with Sampath Nandi’s “Bengal Tiger” in November, and huge expectations have bundled around this film.
Reportedly Ravi wants to take the promotions of this film to a new level with some innovative ideas. Unlike releasing a teaser on websites and electronic media, he wants “Bengal Tiger” first teaser to be released on a radio channel. So, that would be technically a sound teaser aimed to impress audiences.
Tomorrow at a popular radio station named Radio City, we hear that Bengal Tiger’s first ever teaser is going to get launched. Generally they launch audio songs on FM stations but not teasers. So, let’s hope these new thoughts will click big time.
Mallus Playing High Risk With Charan
Mega Power Star Ram Charan is not a big star in Kerala compared to his contemporaries like Prabhas and Allu Arjun. His last film Govindudu Andari Vadele collected around Rs 24 lakh shares. Yevadu is highest collected movie for Charan with 64 lakhs full run shares. In fact, Allu Arjun’s presence helped Yevadu collecting the huge sum.
Surprisingly, Malayalam rights of Charan’s new film fetches good price for his producers. Kerala rights of Bruce Lee were sold for Rs 50 lakhs. Print and publicity will cost around Rs 15 lakhs for the distributors. The film should collect over Rs 1.6 crore gross for break even, which is easily gettable predicts analysts as Telugu films are doing good business in the state of late.
Bruce Lee- The Fighter is carrying positive reports. The film has done outstanding pre release business in all the areas including overseas. Charan, heroine Rakul Preet Singh and director Sreenu Vaitla are promoting the film vigorously. Chiranjeevi who has essayed a 4 minute cameo will also take part in the publicity events.
Meanwhile, Bruce Lee is due for simultaneous release in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam on October 16th. Wish, the film helps Charan a superstar in Malayalam too.
IIT Students To Get Rajamouli Lessons
Tollywood’s most happening director SS Rajamouli is all set to turn a teacher as he will interact with the students and teach them a bit of filmmaking and planning at the prestigious IIT Madras. Rajamouli will take a special seminar at IITM on the 17th October as part of their Extra Mural Lectures.
During the seminar, Rajamouli will explain the process of making his Baahubali and other films and will also participate in a Q & A session with the students. This is not the first ever association of Rajamouli with IIT Madras as Baahubali The Beginning participated in the IITM annual cultural fest Saarang in January this year.
After the release and the grand success of Baahubali, Rajamouli took part in a special interactive session with the IT professionals at Google’s Hyderabad campus. Looks like Rajamouli’s craze among engineering colleges and tech companies is increasing day by day.
Rare Moment: 3 PMs On Amaravati Stage
As 22nd October is fast nearing for the foundation stone-laying ceremony for Amaravati, the Andhra Pradesh government has paced up the proceedings to carry out a grand welcome to the national and international guests. Already, the Japan and Singapore Prime Ministers have confirmed their participation at the event.
Already, 5 helipads are being built at the inauguration premises, 3 of which will be used by the Japan, Singapore and the Indian Prime Ministers respectively. The remaining 2 helipads will be reserved for the VIPs. Speaking about the progress of the construction works, minister Narayana said that a total of 3 stages will be built to host close to 250 guests, including the PMs.
On the other hand, the R & B department will soon construct the roads at jet speed. As many as 9 committees have been formed to look after the construction works. The officials will be performing special prayers to the sacred water from Puttaparti and soil from the Chitravati stream and use them during the foundation stone-laying ceremony.
New Clothes & Invitation For Amaravati Heroes
In a welcoming gesture, the AP government is gifting new clothes along with invitation cards to all the real heroes who are making the ambitious dream of Amaravati come true finally, the farmers of Amaravati. It is well known that all these farmers gave away thousands of acres of their lands for capital construction and in a return gesture, the government is felicitating them at the right time.
All the people living in Amaravati region are given an invitation card for the Amaravati foundation stone-laying ceremony along with new clothes purchased from Apco. Apparently, the government officials hav also told the invited people to attend the ceremony in brand new lungi and sarees.
With this touching move, the Chandrababu government has succeeded in creating a healthy government-people rapport with the farmers. Apart from this token gesture, the AP government has long back promised several sops like one job per home and other relief packages to the farmers who sacrificed their lands.
