Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Allu Arjun are current top heroes in Tollywood. Except for Bunny all the other leading actors scored industry hits. Curiously, all these stars have one industry hit each, nonetheless it has become like ‘Andani Draksha Pandu’ for Allu Arjun.

Although Jr NTR is yet to enter 50 crore club, he is first among the current top stars to join industry hit club with Simhadri. Since then, NTR is experimenting with different directors and subjects to attain another biggest blockbuster.

Ram Charan attained highest grosser record with his second film Magadheera that shattered all box office records. Then, it was Pawan Kalyan who broke the records with Trivikram Srinivas directed family entertainer Attarintiki Daredi.

Pokiri got mixed response on its first weekend, but the Mahesh Babu starrer and Puri Jagannath directorial picked from first Monday and went onto become an industry hit. Still, few records of the film are unbroken.

Recently, Prabhas set new boundaries in industry with Baahubali, which minted a share of Rs 300 crores worldwide. This is unattainable for any other upcoming films for sometime and trade pundits started a new trend of ‘Non-Baahubali’ records.

Coming to Allu Arjun, the energetic star has two 50 crore share films- Race Gurram and S/O Satyamurthy. Time has to say whether Bunny’s upcoming films like Sarainodu with Boyapati or any of his later films can get him an industry hit record, else Bunny will remain as a successful star hero, but not an industry hit hero. There is a lot of difference between these two.

Well, this is not any legal battle, but the battle to get a chance to compete for a nomination at Academy Awards, or the famous Oscars as they were called. Director Chaitanya Tamhane’s Marathi film “Court” has beaten all the films in competition to became India’s official entry to the Oscars nominations.

Like it is written by many foreign film critics that this is the best ever film made by an Indian director, today Film Federation Of India Chairman Amol Palekar confirmed that “Court” is selected by the jury.

Coming to Telugu films, both “Baahubali” and “Srimanthudu” are watched by the jury, while many Telugu cinema lovers expressed confidence that Baahubali will be selected finally.

But as we said earlier, any film without a closed story (films with sequels) would not get a nomination for Oscars, even though if India picks as an official entry. Many cinema critics expressed that Tamil movie “Kaaka Muttai” would have been great entry, but “Court” is also not a bad choice.

Gone are the days where you say some mistake about a heroine but no one cares about much. These days from box office figures to the spelling of their names, heroines themselves are taking extra care.

Heroine Tamanna always takes care that her name is written as “Tamannaah” in the film titles. The other day a critic has tweeted a news about Samantha and he has spelled her name wrong, say ‘Samnatha’. Immediately our Chennai hottie quizzed, “Is that name of any new heroine?”. She might have done that on a lighter vein, but the message is stronger.

Similarly Rakul Preet Singh corrected a film critic’s tweet on social media that her middle name is ‘Preet’ but not ‘Preeth’. It took seconds for her to respond and correct in the public eye itself.

So, next time onwards take care about their names guys. Such are those beautiful names, how could we spell them wrong.

Horror films are minimum guaranteed and are always money minters. Movie buffs spend money to fright at theaters and filmmakers are cashing on this weakness. Actually, Kollywood makers are making more and better qualitative horrors than any other woods. Interestingly, dubbed versions of these films are clicking well in Telugu too. In fact, Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi is the real inspiration for young filmmakers picking the horror genre.

In recent times, most of the Telugu dubbed Tamil horrors like Pizza, Chandrakala, Kanchana, Pisachi, Demonte Colony and Ganga: Muni 3 provided huge profits to Telugu producers. Recent outing Mayuri starring Nayanthara is a smashing hit in Telugu as well as Tamil. Mayuri concept was so confusing for common audience; still they are enjoying thrilling and horrifying elements in the film.

While horror was the most selling genre (for its budget), filmmakers are adding humour now to widen the range. Geethanjali is best example. The Anjali starrer film turned out as blockbuster. But, director Ashwin Saravanan made Mayuri on serious mode, rather adding unnecessary comedy or other forceful bits. With this film, he proved that, horrors can also equally saleable if made engagingly.

Until a couple of years ago, Bollywood’s hottest young stars Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were madly in love with each other and they even lived-in for a while, before ending their relationship and parting ways amicably. Both Ranbir and Deepika went on to find love in Katrina Kaif and Ranveer Singh respectively.

However, the ex-lovebirds teamed up again for the latest romantic drama, Tamasha. Couple of days ago, the film’s theatrical trailer was launched and the ex-couple were the cynosure of all the eyes. But the most amusing moment was when a journo asked them to react about the union government’s latest policy about deleting WhatsApp and Google Hangout messages.

Ranbir said in his reply, “In that case, don’t send objectionable messages. If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, refrain from sending flirty messages to others.” a visibly impressed Deepika promptly went up to Ranbir and patted him uttering the most unexpected words, “What an answer bro!” While this made the journos shocked, Deepika too was stoic for a few moments, before she regained her composure.

After all, who would have expected the once passionate relationship would turn into such embarrassing moments, even though for a few seconds!

Ace comedian Brahamanandam hasn’t scored a big hit in the recent days. This year, none of his characters in big ticket films like S/o Satyamurthy and Kick 2 worked out, while in super hits like Baahubali, Srimanthudu and Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi he’s not even having any role.

Till date, Brahmi has got his biggest name because of the roles he has enacted in movies carved out by Sreenu Vytla. Though their last stint Aagadu haven’t worked out, Vytla has given yet another crucial role to the star comedian upcoming “Bruce Lee”.

And this role is not going to make fun of Brahmi like earlier. “This time Brahmanandam will not become a bakara like in my previous films. As complaints have come out that his roles are becoming monotonous, we’ve carved out different role for him this time“, said Vytla.

In that case, it would be interesting to see if Brahmi will score his first hit this year with this Dasara treat. “Bruce Lee” is hitting screens on October 16th without any failure, while October 2nd will see the audio launch of the film.

It’s fans who fight in the name of fans and it’s not the stars. Especially we have to talk about the Mega and Nandamuri rivalry, that’s not just hero based but also caste based. When fans are kicking their collars high with satires on other groups, their heroes are scripting new episode with their bonding.

Recently we have seen Nandamuri Balakrishna has even went on kissing Chiranjeevi at the Mega 60 bash. If not true love and admiration for the Megastar, Balayya wouldn’t go for such extent. Say if Pawan-NTR bonding at Charan’s wedding, or Charan’s bonding with NTR at Baadshah opening, or Charan asking the young kid (Bhairava dialogue kid) to utter Balayya Babu’s dialogues during his interaction with him, are examples of how Nandamuri and Mega family heroes bond in person.

Today, Kalyan Ram has attended as a chief guest at the movie launch of “Supreme” that has Saidharam Tej in the lead, and directed by “Pataas” fame Anil Ravipudi. This is in fact another new episode that proves there is no such thing called professional or political rivalry between these families and the heroes. This should in fact open eyes of many gossip mongers who often cook the rival stories between two big ‘fanbases’.

While he is waiting to go on a rage with his upcoming movie Shivam, Energetic Star Ram surprised everyone when he posted a photograph designed in an experimental fashion and asking his fans, ‘guess who?’ The photograph showcases Ram in a mysterious avatar and it naturally raised the curiosity levels among his fans.

Meanwhile, Shivam will be releasing on 2nd October as a Gandhi Jayanthi special. The film is carrying positive buzz in film circles and Ram is expected to continue his win streak after his sleeper hit, Pandaga Chesko. On the other hand, Hari Katha will be directed by Kishore Tirumala and produced by Ram’s uncle Sravanthi Ravi Kishore.

Post wrapping “Bruce Lee”, Ram Charan will be bang on “Thani Oruvan” remake under NV Prasad’s production and Surender Reddy’s direction, is what a little confirmed news by now. More than that, everyone is waiting to see who will be Charan’s villain in this film in case if Tamil hero Arvind Swamy shows no interest to reprise same role yet again.

Grapevine has that, Ram Charan has sent the film to his best friend Rana Daggubati, to see if this will impress him. After agreeing to star as villain for Prabhas in “Baahubali”, why qualms about signing similar role for Ram Charan? Seems like, Rana has thought on similar lines and nodded to play the role essayed by Arvind Swamy in the film. Needless to say, Ram and Rana combination will rock for sure, but acting as villain for bigger heroes like Ram Charan might affect Rana’s career as a hero.

Meanwhile, Rana is getting ready to his best bulk frame yet again to take part in the shooting of “Baahubali: The Conclusion” that is likely to go on floors soon. He has already finished his part in “Bangalore Days” Tamil remake and a film with him in the lead is yet to start.

Natural Star Nani’s latest outing Bhale Bhale Magadivoy is raking up good shares even in second week and the film will successfully enter its third week from tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the Maruthi directorial is losing several theaters across the Telugu states, despite its good run. BBM will be replaced by mega hero Sai Dharam Tej’s Subramanyam For Sale in most of the theaters from September 24th.

Same is the case with BBM’s main theater, Sandhya 70 MM, which is in SFS producer Dil Raju’s hands. The star producer offered the theater to BBM only for two weeks. And as per the agreement, BBM will lose its main theater to SFS from Thursday.

Though makers of Bhale Bhale Magadivoy were very much confident of the film scoring a big hit, they might have thought two weeks would be enough for their movie. But, the unexpected huge openings shocked the trade pundits as well as the producers. BBM is turning out to be biggest grosser in Nani’s career and it is performing like a star hero film in overseas. In Nizam alone, the film minted a share of around Rs 6.5 crores.

Geetha Film Distributors that released BBM in Nizam is in discussion with other local distributors to look for other theaters in the region. And at RTC X Roads, Devi 70MM which is screening Courier Boy Kalyan or Shanti that is showing Cinema Chupista Mama is expected to be confirmed for BBM.
