Ras Bihari from Chatrapathi, Titla from Vikramarkudu or Sudeep from Eega, guess what they do all have in common? Yes, they are all Rajamouli’s common villains and that’s not the point we are talking about. All these villains have another common trait which Rajamouli’s Bhallaladeva, Bijjaladeva and Kalakeya Lord missed out big time.

Especially the scenes involving Kalakeya Lord, played by Prabhakar, are expected to extract sweat out of audiences in theatres. But the scenes turned quite surprising as children are laughing to the core. Because they find that Kalakeya’s Kiliki language is funny to hear, and without subtitles given for the language, it’s difficult to interpret it.

Generally any Rajamouli’s villain creates intense fear in hearts and minds of audiences but here in Baahubali, Prabhakar is made to look scary but he failed to terrorise people. That failed to elevate heroism too when he gets killed by Baahu and Bhalla brothers. A serious war scene thus turned laugh riot due to some errors in judgement, isn’t it?

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali had taken a sensational opening on its release day. The movie had amassed 22.27 Crore share on its first day which is twice better than previous highest, Attarintiki Daredhi which collected 10.75 Crore share back then.

Baahubali is also second biggest grosser in India after Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year. The movie is the biggest opener in the country if we consider share.

There was a time when Telugu comedians resorted to the trend of a lot of double meaning dialogues. Although this trend thankfully came to an end thanks to the censor board increasingly getting angry, some of them are still to come out of its hangover, especially Ali.

His shows on television along with his role as anchor for audio functions are nothing short of a test of patience for ladies.Ali has been accused of crossing the limit many times with his risqué one-liners. At one function, Ali compared Samantha’s navel to the famous Benz Circle of Vijayawada.

Samantha was reportedly very upset at this grossness. And the female artistes and anchors on Ali’s television show, ‘Ali tho Jolly ga’ are constantly at the receiving end of his double-meaning dialogues.

But wisdom seems to have finally dawned on Ali. Having realized that ladies watching his show on television would feel uncomfortable with such vulgarity, he has decided to tone down.

He further said that he is watching Hindi comedy episodes to improve his style of anchoring without taking away the entertainment quotient from his show.

Some time back, it was reported that the budget of Kamal Haasan’s film Paapanaasam was the costliest remake of the Malayalam hit Drishyam.

Well, Rs 30 crores was spent for the film though it was a low budget film in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. So the news from Tamil industry is that almost two-thirds of the production costs were given as remuneration to Kamal Haasan.

Talk is that Kamal was paid Rs 20 crores for the film. In fact, in other languages, the heroes had charged much less than their market value.

However, Kamal Haasan had anticipated that the film would do well and he had taken the satellite rights as a part of film as a part of his remuneration. Though his producers and buyers have been losing out due to his films, Kamal has decided to charge Rs 20 crores for this film.

As for the film, the audiences have appreciated it in all languages and since it has been released in all south Indian languages, the demand has increased for the Hindi version.

If the Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn also becomes a hit, then Drishyam will become the most popular film in Indian film industry.

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali had emerged as the biggest Telugu grosser ever at the US box office even before the completion of the Day-1 at the box office. The movie had raked in more than 1.4 Million dollars gross (some screens to report) from its premieres and $635K from 125 Locations as of 1 PM EST with the regular shows of First day making the film, the first Telugu movie to enter the 2 Million dollars club.

There is absolute madness in the desi-audience of US just as the audience back in the Telugu states. Given that the talk and the reviews are very positive, the movie is expected to make it very big at the box office. Trade analysts are expecting the movie to end up some where between 3.5-4 Million dollars gross in its full run.

Well, there are good films and bad films. But the blame is always put in such a way that films from other language are doing the damage. If Telugu producers are blaming Tamil dubbed flick, same is the case with Tamil producers too. But their blame is rather silly for its reason.

Ram Charan’s previous Telugu hit ‘Yevadu’ is now being dubbed into Tamil as ‘Magadheera’ only to release all over the state in nearly 320+ screens. Many producers who are shocked wtih the fact that Telugu dubbed movies like Baahubali and Yevadu are taking centre stage have blasted local producers for bringing these films.

Especially about Yevadu, they say Shruti Haasan’s over the top glamour forced local distributors to buy the film. ‘These heroines resort to loads of exposing in Telugu circuit, while they don’t do such in Tamil movies.

That’s why our producers are running after these Telugu movies’, said Rajaraja, the writer who wrote dubbed dialogues for the film. Doesn’t it sound rubbish? Shruti’s glamour show is pretty much same in Yevadu, Race Gurram and Tamil film Poojai, but their success rate is different in relevance to their content.

How could they say heroine are becoming more liberal in skin show for Telugu movies. From Sada’s skimpy outfits in Aparichitudu to Samantha’s bikini show in Sikander, are Tamil films not the ones that made heroines turn up in skimpy outfits? Stop this new way of blaming Telugu films.
