tdp-40-mla647x450

Well, after the power-packed episode of Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan and the senior TDP MPs, it seems like the TDP high command has given their MPs a big class for which now the MPs start off with their regretting plan. The Anakapalli MP Srinivas was the first one to say that even he is a great fan of Pawan Kalyan and is ready to offer him his MP seat if he would like to contest.

MP Srinivas praised Pawan Kalyan for his clean brain and heart and said that he is being misled by a few forces. He said that Pawan’s comments will be taken seriously and will be working for the development of the state. He said that even MPs at the Centre are trying their best to get the grant of Special Status.

So, it all looks like after the words war between Pawan and TDP MPs has been pacified and now getting reminded that Pawan’s party is TDP’s good friend and has supported during the 2014 elections. So, the TDP MPs start wooing Pawan and are settling down the matter.

Easily one of India’s most generous donations ever, the Wipro founder Azim Premji has given away half of his stake in Wipro to charity. The sum total of this donation is assessed at a value of Rs. 53,284 crores. With this, the IT czar has once again proved the world why he’s touted to be the country’s most generous and top philanthropist.

The billionaire head of Wipro, India’s third largest exporter of software services, has donated 39 per cent of his stake in Wipro. The large hearted 69 year old gentleman said, ‘Over the past fifteen years, I have tried to put this belief into action through my personal philanthropic work.’ Azim Premji further said that the Trust supports the initiatives of The Azim Premji Foundation and Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiative.

‘For us, this is the driving force in the form of our values and is something that we will continue to remain completely committed to,’ Premji added in his announcement. Apparently, Azim Premji is the first Indian to sign the Giving Pledge, promoted by billionaires Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and Warren Buffett. The initiative is to welcome the world’s richest to donate their wealth to philanthropy.

‘No one from the film industry has spoken about us’

hema

A week after a fatal accident in Rajasthan, in which the Mercedes sedan in which actor-MP Hema Malini was travelling crashed into a Maruti Alto and killed a two-year-old girl on the spot, the victim’s father is left wondering not just why the star has still not tried to contact or speak to the bereaved family but why the film industry, which otherwise “speaks on every subject”, chose to remain silent.

In a series of tweets following the July 2 car accident in Dausa around 50 km from Jaipur, Hema, who was injured in the accident too, expressed her condolences to the family whose car was smashed by her Mercedes, but said the accident could have been averted if the girl’s father “had followed traffic rules”.

But the police in Dausa had registered a case against Hema Malini’s driver Mahesh Thakur, resident of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh, and arrested him on July 3 charges of causing death by negligence and overspeeding, leaving little room for doubt as to who was the culprit. Hema Malini is the BJP MP from Mathura.

Social media users went into a tizzy following her post on the micro-blogging platform, slamming the actress for her insensitivity. Now Hanuman Khandelwal, the victim’s father, has raised an even more pertinent question, saying: “No one from the film industry has spoken about us. Why the industry, which speaks on every subject, is silent now? Someone should have come forward and spoken on it.”

The hapless father, a cycle shop owner and one of the four injured in the mishap, told IANS: “Even Hema-ji has not tried to contact or speak to us…it would have been good for us if she would have spoken to us rather than blaming me for the accident. The film industry should understand that there is a difference between real life and reel life.”

Bollywood veterans like Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi and Rishi Kapoor reacted, but they mostly wished the actress a “speedy recovery”. Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri supported Hema and commented: “The Alto, in Hema Malini accident, was on the wrong. But in India, larger vehicle is always wrong. Specially, if it involves a celeb.”

Largely, the film industry chose to refrain from commenting on the issue. However, social media users were voluble with their comments.

One @pranavjayan tweeted: “@dreamgirlhema shame on ua part! Criticizing da girls family doesnt show ua humanity.! Being a politician such a cheap selfish act (sic)”, while another user, named Medha Chatterjee, shared: “How I wish Hema Malini kept her mouth shut. Her statements make her look shallow n heartless! Pity, we have MPs like her representing India.”

People on the streets of the desert state too have condemned the 66-year-old actress for her apparent lack of feeling.

“Hema Malini is a big star. Moreover she is a politician, at least she should have known what to speak. It is not proper for a person like her to tweet the way she did,” said Manish Kumar, an executive with a private company in Jaipur.

Echoing similar views, Rashmi Singh, a college-goer said: “I respect Hema-ji a lot, but by tweeting and laying blame on a person who lost her daughter is just sickening. How can she do it and that too after six days of the accident….why react so late and that too in bad taste.”

Hema Malini’s daughter, Esha, had been quoted as saying after her mother returned from hospital: “My mother will help the families of victims. She is doing this not because she is a neta (leader) but because she is a good human being as well.”

One more solid T-Congress wicket to fall?

The aggressive pursuit of other party’s leaders by TRS doesn’t seem to be ending anytime now and after TDP, now it is an open secret that it is congress party which is the next target. There are now reports that former minister and Telangana’s senior leader P Sudarsana Reddy will be bidding a goodbye to the Congress party?

There are already speculations doing rounds in political circles that the stage is all set for Reddy to join TRS. It is even being said that although many Congress leaders are ready to take plunge into TRS, KCR is only willing to take those who would fit the requirements of the party and those who command good care.

Meanwhile, while former Hyderabad Congress president D Nagender and ex MLA Jayasudha are reportedly keen in joining TRS, KCR is yet to give his nod. Given the fact that not many leaders from Congress joined TRS along with DS, KCR & Co. is reportedly targeting Nizamabad district Congress.

While this continues, there is also some backlash for TRS from old crop of leaders who are becoming insecure by the day regarding this focus on pulling other party’s leaders. They feel that apart from current negligence, they may be relegated fully to the background if this continues for more time.

Yet another unfortunate incident happened in Hyderabad which is a grave consequence of excessive usage of WhatsApp. As per the reports, Rajesh Sharma, a resident of Sitharampet near Mangalhat, killed his wife of 14 years after he grew suspicious over his wife Saritha’s excessive chatting on WhatsApp. Reportedly, the husband nurtured his suspicion over the time after he noticed that his wife spends a lot of time on WhatsApp chatting, phone conversations and even late night texts.

In a shocking example of how mobile phones have been ruining the innocence of children, a group of 7th Class girl students have been suspended after they were caught watching porn videos on their mobile phones in their class room in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The principal of the school has suspended these girls from attending school for a week.

Last Friday, a teacher heard some noises from the girl students sitting on the back bench of the class room in a CBSE school. When the teacher asked the girls to come out of their seats, they came out with their mobile phones and the teacher was shocked on realizing that these girls have been watching porn clips. The teacher immediately took the students to the principal.

Upon learning about the girls’ unbelievable act in the class room, the principal immediately suspended them for a week. The worried girls even wrote an apology letter to the principal but the principal showed no mercy and even called their parents. It was then the turn of the grieving parents who regretted for giving their children mobile phones to school.

Parents’ bodies and even political party leaders have once again blasted the irresponsible schools and over pampering parents for allowing their students and children mobile phones and even two wheelers to schools.

Rich Leaders – Poor Party!

Congress4545647x450

The grand-old party, Indian National Congress, which had ruled the country for 60 years, is now suffering from scarcity of funds. If reports are anything to go by, the party has now become “poor”. After a severe poll drubbing in 2014 general elections where the party saw complete rout and its total Lok Sabha members were restricted to 44, the party is said to be going through financial crunch. Lack of corporate funding is considered as one of the major reasons for the present fund crisis.

With this, it’s widely buzzed that Congress party is in difficult state to pay salaries to its full-time employees and meet the expenses of the party offices in the states. Except in Karnataka, where Congress is in ruling, the rest of the state units are struggling for funds. However, political pundits say that Congress party might have become “poor” but its leaders are still “very rich” and they opine that party would be depending on them to overcome this phase.

In a recent circular, Congress senior treasurer Motilal Vora has asked the party state units, Pradesh(PCC) and District Congress Committees(DCC) to collect a nominal Rs 250 as annual subscription fee from all existing party members and new members. It’s also mulling over to implement former PM Manmohan Singh’s recommendation that MLA/MLC should donate 1 month of his/her salary to party’s local unit and MP should donate 1 month of salary to AICC.
