Bollywood dream-girl Hema Malini had the worst nightmare of her life on July 2nd, that’s on the day when her Mercedes rammed into an Alto Car. While Hema suffered a nasal fracture, A Girl Child breathed her last and three of the other family members got injured.

Hema Malini came under criticism for over-speeding and not bothering to help the victims to reach the hospital at the earliest soon after the accident. The Infant’s Father alleged his daughter could have survived if she was allowed to be in the car in which Hema was taken to the Hospital.

The 66-Year-Old Actress seems to have decided to counter attack and her recent remarks have stirred a controversy. She opined the accident could have been averted had if the 4-Year-Old Child’s Father followed the Traffic Rules.

Superstar Rajinikanth today submitted to the Madras High Court that the petition involving his name over the 65 lakh loan default by his son in law Dhanush’s father Kasthoori Raja, is an attempt to defame his image. Distancing himself from the case, Rajinikanth said that he is neither a guarantor nor a borrower of the 65 lakhs, which Kasthoori Raja obtained from a financier named Mukund Bothra.

The petitioner, in his petition to the court, had stated that he had lent 65 lakhs to Kasthoori Raja in 2012 and that Kasthoori Raja had promised him that Rajinikanth would repay the loan, if he failed to clear it. In June, the High Court had issued notices to Rajinikanth and Kasthoori Raja seeking their replies.

Rajinikanth further told the court that the petitioner should have informed him if at all Kasthoori Raja had used his name to obtain the loan. Rajini further said that the financier should not hold him liable to such loan where the loan was advanced just on hearing his name. Rajinikanth also told the court that he had been facing mental agony due to this attempt to spoil his image in the public.

The craze speaks for itself. But there is prodigious hard work that produced such a hype as the feast of visuals offered by “Baahubali” are just impeccable. This hard work however demanded a stunning business of 123+ crores in the form of theatrical rights and what happens to his investment is something we will know in the coming days.

Unofficial trade reports indicate that the whole Telugu theatrical rights for Andhra, Telangana and Overseas are sold out for nearly 91 crores by “Baahubali” producers. Tamil rights are shelled for 15 crores for Tamilnadu state alone while Tamil overseas distributors doled out nearly 4 crores for the rights.

Hindi market though helped double the craze for the project, we hear that the theatrical rights fetched only 11 crores. Rajamouli’s Malayalam entry is picked by 3 crores nearly by Mallu distributors. All in all, nearly 123 crores has to be recovered through ‘shares’ from the first part of “Baahubali”, say trade analysts.

Apart from the 123 crore theatrical rights, we have satellite rights sold out already. Sources revealed that Telugu satellite fetched nearly 13 crores, while Tamil went for 8-10 crores and Hindi too fetched similar price. It’s surprising that Hindi and Tamil folks have paid similar price for theatricals and satellite. Including all these figures, we have to say that nearly 155+ crores business has happened around this magnum opus.

Apart from scoring a blockbuster, the movie has to run consistently without opposition to pull every distributor and other businessmen to shores. Herculean task ahead.

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is riding high on the success of her latest blockbuster hit “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”, says she is an “independent girl” who believes in the power of money.

“I don’t really give into all that philosophical talks that ‘money is not everything’. Money can’t buy everything, but it can buy most of it. Because of money, I could give my parents a comfortable life,” she said at the launch of Nissan MICRA CVT automatic hatchback here.

“I could afford a very secure future for myself and support all the causes I believe in,” she added.

The two-time National Film Award recipient was chosen to launch the new variant of Micra CVT automatic hatchback with a view to make the Xtronic CVT technology closer to buyer in the automatic segment. This launch also marked Micra’s fifth anniversary in India.

“They hired me because I like ‘hatke’ (unconventional) things. In fact, I bought my own first car. It wasn’t gifted to me by my father or anyone. I am an independent girl, I always put my work first in my priority,” she said.
