One Nation – One Mobile Number!

Nationwide Mobile Number Portability (MNP) has been a reality now with leading mobile operators Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, RCom and Uninor along with state-run BSNL & MTNL confirming the official launch on Friday.

What Nationwide Mobile Number Portability is all about? With the new facility, The same Mobile Number could be used in any part of the country. Even if the Network is changed, One could retain their Mobile Number irrespective of the location they shift. It’s nothing but given the opportunity for the users to choose the best operator or the operator of their choice in the area they live.

Telecom Operators have been announcing sops to ensure its users stick to their networks and at the same time to lure users of other networks. While few of them permit customers transfer their prepaid balance from one circle to the other (applies only if they stay within their network).

Leading mobile operator Airtel went a step ahead and declared free incoming on National roaming from the time a MNP request is raised and until it’s processed. BSNL has already been offering free national roaming for its users.

President Upset With KCR?

President Pranab Mukherji appears to be terribly upset with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for his confrontationist attitude towards his neighbouring Andhra Pradesh government.

It was evident from the way Pranab took potshots at KCR at the release of Maharashtra Governor K Vidyasagar Rao’s book Uniki at HICC on Friday.

In fact, the President turned otherwise when KCR was trying to keep him in good humour on the dais.

He even ignored KCR who lavished praises on Pranab for signing on the AP Reorganisation Act forming the Telangana State.

In his speech, Pranab virtually advised KCR to maintain friendly relationship with his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu.

He indirectly pointed out to the TRS chief that whether he liked it or not, Naidu was his neighbor and therefore, he had no option but to have friendly equation with him.

“We can choose our friends, but not neighbours. We have to live with neighbours, whether we like them or not. One should realize that the state of Telangana has come to existence now, therefore maintaining peace and tranquility can be helpful in achieving the goal of development,” he said.

He reminded that Hyderabad was not just a capital of Telangana, but was home to people from all parts of the country. “Hyderabad is more than just a capital city.

It is a hub of IT and industrial development. People from various parts of the country live here,” he pointed out, in an indirect reference to the controversy over the status of Hyderabad.

Bhuma Arrested For Abusing Cop

YSR Congress party MLA Bhuma Nagireddy was arrested by the Kurnool police on Friday evening for abusing an on-duty police officer.

The YSRCP MLA was taken into custody in the evening for misbehaving with Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Devadanam, who was on election duty.

He entered into an argument with the DSP near the polling booth and even used abusive language against the police officer following which a case was booked and the MLA was later taken into custody.

Kurnool DSP Harinath Reddy said, “Based upon the complaints by respective police officer, Bhuma was arrested. He abused an officer who belongs to backward class.”

However, Akhila Priya, the Allagedda MLA and daughter of Bhuma Nagi Reddy, alleged that the police had used highly objectionable language against her and arrested her father.

“I was sitting in the polling booth waiting for my father but the police asked me to exercise my franchise and leave the place immediately.

Even when I was informing them that I will leave the polling booth in 10 minutes after casting my vote, the SP and the local DSP began using abusive language against me.

At this moment of time my father had come and reacted like a parent. But the police registered a case against him,” she said.

Nandyal town was tense for sometime following his arrest and the police tightened security to prevent any untoward incident from taking place.

Selfie Craze At Peaks. ‘goodbye grandfather’

Of late, the craze for clicking variety selfies has been creating a havoc across the globe, and in some cases, the madness is even resulting in the loss of valuable lives. However, this latest selfie of a Saudi teenager with the deadbody of his grandfather comes across as the peaks of this selfie craze.

This audacious teenage boy even posted the selfie on his social networking page with a caption, “goodbye grandfather”. Soon, the photograph went viral and shocked those who couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Already, several police complaints have been filed on the young boy and the police are investigating the cases.

The image severely angered the local media, administrative and law enforcement authorities, who said that the boy’s act is a grave contempt of basic responsibility and moral values and even demanded for a strict punishment for the boy.

30 ACs In CM’s House, Power-Bill @ Rs 1.35 lakh

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal could no more claim himself to be a representative of ‘Aam Admi’ after the electricity bill at his official residence in New Delhi went up to Rs 1.35 lakh for a single month.

Kejriwal’s residence at Flag Staff Road in Civil Lines have two metres which fall in domestic category. While one of them with 34 kW load is for the household chores, The other one with 70kW load is for office use.

The First Meter recorded consumption of 2,510 units with amount payable Rs 22,689, Secondary Meter recorded consumption of 11,637 units with amount payable Rs 1,13,598 by Jun 8th. CM’s residence altogether have 30 air-conditioners bur there is no clarity on how of them were in his private area.

Tata Power Delhi is likely to issue a notice to the CM’s Residence for misinterpretation of facts on grounds that commercial tariff should be levied on the secondary meter which is being used for office related works such as meetings with partymen and for holding Janta Durbars.

T-ACB Finds No Evidence Against Chandrababu?

A daily has today reportedly carried a story in which it has been mentioned that AP CM and TDP chief Chandrababu has clearly gained an upper hand as part of the Round 2 of ‘cash for vote’ case. It mentions that in the initial stages everyone expected Babu might be cornered in this case.

But now he seems to have slowly gained ground with reports that the Telangana anti-corruption bureau which is investigating this case hasn’t found any strong evidence against Chandrababu. After taking Revanth Reddy into custody, the agency couldn’t arrest the co-accused in this case Jerusalem Muthaiah.

They are still unable to clearly figure out from where the Rs 50 lakhs seized from Revanth had come from. Hence no case has been filed against Naidu and now Revanth was also given a bail. At the same time, nominated MLA Stevenson’s case was also turned down by the High Court.

Looks like Chandrababu has once again emerged a winner at the end of it. AP government’s media advisor Parakala Prabhakar added that since no such evidence could be provided, the case has now weakened while Telangana lawyers contend that Chandrababu has provided his mettle again in legal matters.
