Radhika Apte has given two hits in Tollywood, yet not many producers are ready to sign her. Why?

Radhika had made some controversial comments on Telugu film Industry that has not gone well with some producers and directors.

She went on to say that Tollywood is male dominated. The heroes, directors and the producers here have patriarchal attitude. The people in Telugu cinema do not know to treat women respectfully.

These statements have hit her career in Tollywood and she is not getting offers despite being a part of films like Legend and Lion.

Now Radhika has shifted focus to Bollywood. Her recent photo shoot is a proof for that. The lady simply sizzles in the photoshoot and has bared it all. Her expressions leave you wanting for more.

Some resemblances can be found between Naga Chaitanya, the scion of Akkineni family and young hero Naga Shourya. One can easily say that both of their name start with Naga but they share one more similarity.

Until now Naga Chaitanya did not get success as an action hero, all his attempts in that genre have been miserable flops.

In the last one year, he released two films that fall under the genre of action or thriller or both of them – Autonagar Surya and Dochay. They tanked at box-office. All his successes are with love stories or family dramas.

Similar thing happened to Naga Shourya who came up with his first action movie ‘Jadoogadu’ which released last Friday to negative reviews.

Naga Shourya who released five films in just a gap of 14 months has delivered hits with romantic dramas like ‘Oohalu Gusa Gusalade’. But when he tried his hand at mass movies, the response was completely bad.

Debutant director Sushanth Reddy says forthcoming Telugu release “Superstar Kidnap”, a crime-comedy about kidnapping Mahesh Babu, is a conceptual film not intended to cash in the popularity of the star actor.

“When you watch films like ‘Being John Malkovich’, you realise that these are stories about real people that are fictionalised. Our film falls in such a category. When you watch the film, you will understand what we’ve tried to attempt,” Reddy told IANS.

“It’s about three youngsters who have come to a certain situation where they decide to kidnap Mahesh Babu. It’s about the circumstances that evolve out of the kidnapping and how the characters come out of it,” he said.

What makes “Superstar Kidnap” unique is the fact that something like that hasn’t been done before.

“If our experiment clicks, who knows, it may introduce audiences to a new genre. I’ve not made this film to cash in on Mahesh Babu’s popularity, as I’m one of his biggest fans and I’d never do such a thing,” he added.

According to Reddy, his film is a comedy entertainer that’s equally different.

Asked if Mahesh himself has played a cameo or not, he said: “Whether he is kidnapped or not, you will have to wait and watch. Only when you watch the film, will you understand how we’ve brought the Mahesh Babu connect in the story.”

Apart from being the director, Reddy has also co-produced the movie along with his friend Chandu Penmatsha under their banner, Lucky Creations.

“It was extremely challenging to direct as well as take care of the production. But I got to learn a lot from the experience which I think will come very handy in the future,” he said.

The film, which releases on Friday, features Aadarsh Balakrishna, Nandoo and Bhupal play the lead characters while Poonam Kaur, Tejaswini Madivada and Vennela Kishore play significant roles.

Southern actress Priyamani, who has mostly featured in glamorous roles, has for the first time in her career donned a khaki uniform in a yet-untitled Telugu-Kannada bilingual, which is directed by composer-director R.P. Patnaik.

“Priya plays a powerful CBI officer in my film. For those who have seen her only in glamorous avatars, this role will come as a pleasant surprise,” Patnaik told media.

The film, a political thriller, features Priya in the lead role.

“There’s a lot of drama and thrills. Priya’s role will remind audiences of yesteryear actress Vijayashanthi in ‘Khartavyam’. I should commend her for taking the effort and getting the mannerisms of a CBI officer correctly,” he said.

Patnaik, who has also produced the film, plans to release it in August.

After the ‘cash for vote’ scandal and the section 8 issue, the most discussed issue in AP is probably Chiru’s 150th movie, thanks to the mega confusion surrounding the mega project.

Puri Jagan has reportedly requested Chiranjeevi for a clarification regarding the latter’s story discussions with VV Vinayak and is believed to have got the response that it is for Chiru’s 151st movie.

Also, it is public knowledge that Puri Jagan has announced the title of Mega star’s movie as ‘Auto Jaani’. This title has also met with Chiru and Ram Charan’s approval.

Now, out of the blue, Swami Naidu, the President of Chiru’s fans association has issued a statement saying that the title of the movie will not be ‘Auto Jaani’. This has again created a sensation.

Is the title being changed or the director as well? Who is to be believed? Chiru’s camp or his fans? The developments don’t sound positive at all for Puri Jagan.

Pairing up with Mahesh Babu for the first time is a big opportunity for any heroine. Rakul Preet Singh had got the opportunity very early in her career. She was offered heroine role in Brahmotsavam but she could not grab it due to dates problem.

Rakul in an interview said that she really wanted to act with Mahesh Babu but just could not find the time. Brahmotsavam will go floors from July 10th at the same time, Rakul is busy with Charan’s Bruce Lee and NTR’s Maa Nannaku Prematho and so could not accommodate dates for Mahesh.

This year will be monumental in Rakul Preet Singh’s career. In a very short time, she will be getting to act with NTR, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun. It would have been even bigger if she would have paired up with Mahesh Babu too.

The movie is expected to release in about 450 theaters on the first day which is never before in the history of Telugu Cinema. Dil Raju, the Nizam rights holder had challenged to put a never before 5 Crore share mark on the Day 1.

Out of which, about 1.25 Crore will come from benefit shows itself. To explain Baahubali fever in Nizam, all the 16 out of 16 theaters in Medak district will be screening the movie. Almost 90% of the theaters in Hyderabad will be screening the movie. Baahubali is releasing in four languages and the film is expected to release in 4000+ screens across the globe.

The makers are expecting to put up 15 Crore share Worldwide on the release day. If the Current Trends Hold, Baahubali will break Attarintiki Daredi Total AP + Nizam Total Day1 Record with AP itself. The figure put up in Nizam will be margin. The advance booking of the movie is expected to start from Wednesday.
