Family Support for Prabhas in Baahubali!
Prabhas had almost sacrificed good three years in his career for Baahubali. He underwent on lot of mental and physical ordeal while making the magnum opus film which is the costliest ever in Telugu film industry. However the actor owes the major credit of this to his family.
Speaking at Baahubali Tamil trailer launch event, Prabhas said, “I underwent some very tough times during the making of this film. But they did not matter at the end only because of my family’s support”. Prabhas had pinned high hopes on the film to catapult him to the next level.
The movie is already creating never before seen records in Telugu film trade. The movie is made in two parts and the first part will be releasing very soon. Sabu Cyril has created the sets while Senthil is handling the camera.
The movie, which is being produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni. under Arka Media banner, will be presented by K Raghavendra Rao. Renowned engineer P. M. Sateesh is working on the sound design and Debajit Changmai (Debu) is working on sound mixing.
What If Mega-Nandamuri Fans Talk Positive?
Whenever a new movie releases, if a film scores hit then the fans of that star will start abusing other heroes’ fans. If it flops, the opponents are doing the same. When Baahubali trailer was removed by YouTube, there are comments made by respected media personnel that anti-fans have reported Spam and that’s why it is removed. But in reality, YouTube removed that only for the sake of their own assessment whether it is spam or not. Why are these negative vibes being spread between fans of different heroes?
Definitely some people wants to enjoy the fights, like the way centuries ago the gladiator fights between animals and humans are liked by people. Isn’t that a barbaric behaviour? One’s suffering or down-side should not be a reason for other’s happiness. There are things that could correct such behaviour, especially a “Positive Talk” could do wonders.
Let’s take a live example- The most heard rivals in Telugu film industry are Mega fans and Nandamuri fans. If mega fans continue to talk about films like “Lion” or “Rabhasa” and make fun of Nandamuri heroes, surely the opponents will talk about “Thoofan” and “Puli”. Rather that, if both the parties appreciate the beautiful positive aspects of “Temper” and “S/o Satyamurthy”, definitely their relations will improve. Then that won’t give scope for others to enjoy the fights between these two.
In the wake of twitter-wars, Facebook hatred posts and spreading jokes, one could say that these fans are struck with ‘negativity’. If two fans groups discuss about the positive elements of their opponent heroes, then that ‘Positive Talk’ is going to build an awesome friendly atmosphere where they can discuss beyond cinema, social service and others.
NOTE: Mega and Nandamuri Fan Groups are two of the biggest fans and we have used their names only for an example purpose. Now, let’s not other heroes fans make a scene out of this by collectively blasting these two fan groups. Positive Talk is something people would like to get infused to all heroes’ fans.

On the other side, the makers of Srimanthudu are racing against time to complete the film by the second week of this month and want to release the film at an cost on July 17th. But in case Baahubali is releasing on July 10th, Srimanthudu may be forced to postpone to August 14th release.
Andhra Pori Movie Review – 2.5/5
Star director Puri Jagannadh’s son Puri Akash made debut as hero with Andhra Pori that is a remake of Marathi movie titled Timepass. This film made headlines as few Andhra people’s sentiments were hurt by the title. However the movie made it to theaters on time.
Story :
Narsing Yadav (Akash) is a teenager who struggles to clear arriers in Tenth class. He falls in love with a school girl called Prashanti (Ulka Gupta). He keeps following her and saves her from a couple of problems. Now Prashanti too falls for Narsing’s innocent and straightforward character. Prashanti’s strict father comes to know about his daughter’s love and decides to take her away from that place.
Perfomances:
Akash Puri is a talented young kid. We have seen his capabilities in the films like Dhoni. He has given a flawless performance as the young guy with tender romantic feelings. Ulka Gupta is okay but struggles to match up with Akash in key scenes. Aravind Krishna is alright in a brief yet irrelevant character. The actor who played the father role of heroine is okay. Srimukhi is average in her limited role. Eeswari Rao and Uttej did important characters and they are good in their respective roles.
Technicalities:
Raj Madiraju who has done a original movie Rushi as his debut flick is not up to the mark with this remake. There are far too many problems with the film be it the lackluster script or the poorly etched drama. Director tried to give a poetic touch to this film by using classical music as the background theme but that isn’t effective enough. We have seen zillion movies with the same plot and we can’t blame the director for it as this is a remake.
Songs don’t appeal instantly but may grow on you in repeated hearings. Background score is impressive. Camera work is alright. Editing is uneven. Production values are good. Dialogues are pale and dull.
Thumbs Up:
- Akash’s confident performance
- Background score
Thumbs Down:
- Age old story
- Poor screenplay
- Weak direction
Analysis:
As mentioned earlier Andhra Pori has a very weak script that was seen in many movies already. Poor guy and rich girl falling in love is not interesting anymore. When veteran directors like Mani Ratnam are coming up with contemporary love stories like OK Bangaram, a fairly new director opting to remake such bland love story is questionable.
Although this movie is set in the nineties that itself doesn’t cover up the flaws in it. This film focuses on the teenage love that has enough scope to impress with tender romantic moments. However there isn’t a single moment that strikes the chord with audience. The love story is poorly dealt with the lead actors falling for each other for silly reasons.
One would expect the film to get interesting with the introduction of Aravind Krishna’s character. That is just used for the interval bang and Aravind Krishna hardly makes his presence felt during the second hour. Pre climax scenes are somewhat better than the rest of the movie. Climax is cliched and entirely predictable. Looks like Andhra Pori makers have ideas to make sequel to this movie. They may not dare to make that attempt after looking at the audiences’ reactions to Andhra Pori.
Verdict: This ‘Time Pass’ Remake is Sheer Time Waste.
Madhu Shalini in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Thoongaavanam’
Actress Madhu Shalini has landed an important role in Kamal Haasan-starrer Tamil-Telugu bilingual “Thoongaavanam”, which recently went on floors and stars Trisha Krishnan in the lead role.
“Madhu plays a brief, but pivotal role in the film. Kamal Haasan is seen hugging her in the film’s first look poster, which was released recently. She has already started shooting for the film,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
Being directed by Haasan’s long-time associate Rajesh M. Selva, the film is said to be a thriller that unfolds in a single night.
“It’s about events that unfold in a bar in one night. Madhu’s role will propel the story forward and she’ll be seen in both the versions of the movie,” the source said.
The film titled “Cheekati Rajyam” in Telugu also features an ensemble cast of Prakash Raj, Kishore and Sampath Raj in important roles.
Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala is most likely to play Haasan’s wife.
Vaastu Problems For Revanth Reddy’s House
It is known that TDP firebrand Revanth Reddy was arrested at a time when he was getting ready to take on the role of the party president.
So, many astrologers and a senior leader from Mahbubnagar have said that the problem lies with the vaastu of his house.
They maintain that when he lived next to the house of ex CM Kiran Kumar Reddy everything was fine with him. However, his problems began ever since he shifted his residence they claim.
Apparently, Revanth did not listen to the astrologers and shifted the house and that they say started trouble for him. And within a week of his shifting the house, a sting operation has been carried out they say.
Since his daughter’s engagement is due some time now and since they want a big house, he moved out to a new house. Though Revanth personally does not believe in vaastu, it is said that his move did impact him say those who believe in vaastu.
KCR’s stubbornness cost, 2000 crores?
There have been a lot of controversies, news and updates regarding the way in which KCR had differed with the alignment of Hyderabad metrorail. Before TRS coming to power, KCR also once vowed to demolish the metro rail saying they are indulging in kick backs with the then CM Kiran Kumar Reddy.
But after coming to power again there was a sensational letter leaked to the media regarding how much disappointed was L&T with KCR government. But to ensure that Brand Hyderabad isn’t affected, KCR quickly made amends and there was a compromise with the reputed engineering company.
The company had agreed to go along with TRS government regarding the proposed realignment along the corridor near Assembly. But again there has been no commitments regarding offsetting this damage in terms offinances for Hyderabad Metro rail which has been dragging on.
Now sources say that the company is quite particular not to KCR’s line regarding metro realignment near Sultan Bazaar because this would cost the company too much. KCR is still insistent on these realignments but there are reports that these two realignments itself would cost a burden of 2000 crores on Telangana government.
