Chandrababu Naidu Elected National President Of TDP
The Telugu Desam Party’ (TDP) on Friday announced its transformation as a national political party and unanimously elected N. Chandrababu Naidu as its first national president.
Naidu was elected unopposed to the post of president of the national committee on the last day of the three-day ‘Mahanadu’ or annual conclave of the party at Gandipet on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
As no other leader filed a nomination for the post, the election committee announced Naidu’s unanimous election.
TDP leaders had filed 30 sets of nominations on behalf of Naidu, who is also the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
With this, the 34-year-old regional party began the formalities to get the recognition as a national party.
Naidu has been heading the party since he led a revolt against then party president and chief minister N.T. Rama Rao in 1995. He was elected nine times as the party president.
TDP’s transformation as a national party was announced in the political resolution.
Moving the resolution, senior leader and Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu said TDP, which has presence in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, will expand to states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Puducherry, and Andaman and Nicobar.
“At the next Mahanadu, we will have delegates from all these states,” Ramakrishnudu told thousands of delegates from Andhra and Telangana.
Stating that there are no legal hurdles in TDP becoming a national party, he said the minimum requirement is that it should have presence in four states.
He also assured the party cadre that there will be no threat the party’s election symbol – the ‘cycle’.
The conclave already amended party constitution to facilitate the transformation. The amendment provided for a central committee and state presidents.
Ramakrishnudu said as a recognised national party, the TDP would be able to play its national role more effectively.
He said despite being a regional party, the TDP since its inception had been playing a key role in the national politics as it was part of almost all non-Congress central governments.
He said the TDP as a partner in BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government will continue to fight for justice to both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The TDP leader said the party would continue to seek special status to Andhra Pradesh and fulfilment of other assurances given at the time of bifurcation of the state.
Akhil’s debut for Dussehra!
Akhil Akkineni’s debut film is being shot at brisk pace. The makers have charted non stop schedules for the film. They are planning to release the film in October on the occasion of Dussehra which means there is a chance of clashing with Ram Charan’s My Name is Raju.
On the other side, Nithin, the producer of this film had confirmed that Missile is not the title for the film. After the current schedule in Spain, the movie unit will return to Hyderabad to finish the Introduction song of Akhil here and will then fly to Uganda in July first week for a 15 days schedule.
Akhil as of now seem to possess all the qualities required to make him a Superstar. The onus is on Vinayak to give him a perfect launch pad as he did for Bellamkonda Srinivas with Alludu Seenu.
INSIDE STORY: TV5 threatened legal action on Baahubali!
They say at one point the Baahubali makers wanted to agree to the terms and go on with the event on Sunday. However TV5, the official broadcaster of the event refused to agree for that. They shelled a massive 1.5 Crore for the event rights.
It’s official: Mahesh Babu Turns Producer
Superstar Mahesh Babu is taking care of the whole production of his upcoming movie “Srimanthudu” which is already known. He chopped his remuneration and also slashed the pay of other lead actors too. Only affordable faces are roped in and the movie’s total budget is kept below 32 crores, say reports. Why is Mahesh taking such extra personal care?
Of course, if a film fails, then hero gets the blame and his image gets affected. So Mahesh Babu should look after the budget thing such that over-shot budgets don’t affect producer even if the result gets toppled. But the big news about this “Srimanthudu” is that Mahesh has officially became the producer of the movie. He started a new production house “G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment Pvt. Ltd” and operates with the brand “MB”. This production house has share in “Srimanthudu” and we hear that Mahesh will be distributing the flick in some areas.
From a time, analysts are opining that it’s better if big heroes slash their pay packets and in turn take a share in the project. Mahesh Babu took the step now, like a Pawan Kalyan who started Pawan Kalyan Creative Works to make his own Gabbar Singh 2, and this sets a precedent for others.
When Telangana NGOs Praises AP CM Chandrababu
Apart from his own party leaders and the public of his own state, Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu is getting a galore of appreciations in the state of Telangana too. In their latest meeting, the NGOs of Telangana have gone praising Naidu while criticizing their chief minister KCR. The comparison was done in the issues of fitment increment and also regularizing the agitation period.
“With so much of deficit and no funds at disposal, Naidu has given 39% fitment for his employees. On the other hand, our KCR has gone with 43% fitment and that too with so much of surplus revenue in hand,” said an NGO. “Naidu has managed to lift off all the cases filed on the public of Andhra Pradesh within few months of coming into power. Even after one year of Telangana state formation, KCR is still struggling to lift the cases filed on us during the time of separate state agitations,” said the NGOs.
The NGOs have also expressed their dissent towards KCR for not considering the 42 days agitation and the loss of pay happened for the government employees during the same. They compared it with the government of AP’s decision to pay 80% of the employees pay during the agitations by regularizing the act. Within an year of new state formation, this dissatisfaction from NGOs was an unexpected one and we need to see if CM KCR acts on this at least now!
Superstar Takes Lord Hanuman To Pakistan
Needless to say, Pakistan is a Muslim majority country with Christians and Hindus counting to a mere thousands. What if a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman goes to this country and starts talking about the Hindu God as his saviour? Others might have thought a second time about this, but Superstar Salman Khan is unstoppable.
In the upcoming film ‘Bhajrangi Bhaijaan’, Salman plays the role of an ardent devotee of Bhajrangi (Hanuman) and he sets on a mission to handover a missed girl to her parents in Pakistan. As this Hindu god believer does things of his faith in a country that is exactly opposite to his faith- the comedy, action and drama falls in.
That’s what the teaser of ‘Bhajrangi Bhaijaan’ says as it is released last night. No doubt, it has raised immense curiosity about the movie.
Directed by talented Kabhir Khan who has earlier made ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with Salman, the film sounds promising as it is set for an Eid release this 2015. However, we can’t ignore the idea of some faith-believers hitting back at Salman for his dig at religions in this movie.
KCR makes Congress high command ‘Cheerful’
It is a known fact that for the past one year and so, Congress party has been struggling hard to regain its lost morale and has been facing many challenges in this regard. Reviving the spirit of the party is the need of the hour and in particular, Congress feels it has the moral right to bounce back in Telangana.
If not for Congress, Telangana may not have been a reality but KCR had ditched Congress party after it became increasingly clear that there are no chances of UPA-3 coming into power. But now Congress finds itself in a confident position sensing the anti-incumbency wave already visible in Telangana.
Main observer for the upcoming MLC elections, Ghulam Nabi Azad visited Hyderabad recently and was reportedly in for a pleasant surprise over reports he received regarding the anti-government feeling gaining momentum in Telangana, within one year of newly elected government.
Azad reportedly said that never has he seen such an adverse situation for the ruling party within one year in his 40 year experience inpolitics and in this regard, he reportedly instructed senior leaders to work hard and assured them that coming to power in TS in future is not a difficult task.
EXCLUSIVE: Gabbar Singh-2 begins with out Pawan Kalyan!
Pandaga Chesko Review – 3/5
Story:
Karthik is a Multi-Millionaire Businessman settled abroad. A Public Interest Litigation on one of his factories in Hyderabad brings him there all of sudden. He meet Divya (Rakul Preet Singh) and falls in love at the first sight. However the sudden twist in the film is it is Divya who is the reason for the legal issues of his factory. What happens next in their life is the rest of the film.
Performances:
This is one character which is tailor made for Ram as a happy go lucky lad. He just needs to be hyper active on screen as he always do. However there is one scene in the film which challenges the actor in him. but he failed to impress there. Usually a very good dancer, but he is a completed disappointment in this film in the dance department.
Rakul Preet Singh has amazing screen presence with gorgeous looks. Sonal Chauhan adds to the glamour quotient. Her character started on a promising note but ended quite silly. Brahmanandham rocked the show in his episodes. Sampath, Vennela Kishore, Tejaswi, MS Narayana, Sai Kumar, Rao Ramesh and others are okay in their roles.
Technical Performances:
Gopichand Malineni is always known to attempt beaten to death formula films. He does that once more with Pandaga Chesko. The ‘in-house comedy’ we see there, exists in Telugu industry since ages. Kona Venkat as usually came up with same kichidi work. The punch dialogues are totally boring. However the covered it up with good entertainment all along.
Thaman had delivered a very bad music album. Couple of songs are shot well in good locales. The back ground score is okay in parts. The Back ground score is just okay. The camera work is good while editing should have been better. All the stunts looked overboard and the dialogues are too forced for the punches.
Plus:
- Comedy especially Chinnodu Peddodu track
- Performances
- Glamour
Minus:
- Routine template story.
- Screenplay that outdoes story.
Final Word:
Its high time Kona Venkat discovers a new winning formula. They have used the ‘in-house comedy’ very well in Ready several years ago. The wonderful film is twisted, tangled and rubbished several times to produce various ‘commercial entertainers’ which have nothing novel. If you are an entertainment freak and would ignore every thing for some laughter therapy, give it a try!
New Twist: Salman’s Case Files Burnt To Ashes
In a shocking scoop unearthed by a Mumbai based RTI activist, Mansoor Darvesh, the Maharashtra Government has stated that the files of Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case were burnt to ashes in a major fire that gutted a section of the Maharashtra Secretariat on 21st June 2012. This startling revelation created huge furor across the country with angry activists taking to social media to condemn the MH government’s complacency in such a high profile case.
This was the government’s reply when Mansoor had sought the details of total number of counsels, solicitors, advocates and legal advisors, public prosecutors appointed and also the expenses incurred by the state government for this case from the State Law and Judiciary Department. The only information the government could provide was that of the appointment of a special public prosecutor at a fee of 6,000 per hearing.
However, the government assured the angry citizens of reconstruction of the lost files. It is well known that after being awarded a 5 year jail term in the infamous Bandra hit and run case by a Special Court, Salman Khan was granted bail from the Bombay High Court which suspended the sentence.
