Tamil actor Simbu has the image of a playboy after being involved in relationships with Nayanthara and Hansika.

Hence, no one was surprised when Simbu and Hansika parted ways. But Simbu who is now doing a film with Gowtham Menon revealed some interesting things.

“It was Hansika who left me and I was very depressed because of that. The last couple of years have been very tough for me. I haven’t had a single release and my financial position was so terrible that I had to ask my mother for my daily expenses,” said Simbu.

He further added that things were looking up again and hoped that the current movie with Gowtham Menon would change his fortunes for the better. This then is Simbu’s version of events. Wonder whether this is the truth or he is just trying to gain some sympathy.

Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna had a sleepless night on Wednesday (May 13), a day before the release of his latest offing Lion. According to the inside sources, the actor was in Vijayawada and had travelled all the way to Hyderabad as he wants to promote his just released Lion.

“Balayya had sleepless night. He spent a lot of time in travelling and looked strained a bit. But he’s not worried about his sleep. He was more excited about the release of his 98th film Lion. He was as excited as if it was his first film,” said the source. He added that Balayya came to his house, took bath and offered prayers to God before leaving to a theatre in Hyderabad where the premiere show was being screened.

As soon as Balayya entered the theatre, crowds were seen welcoming their favourite matinee idol with cheers, whistles.  Slogans like “CM Balayya” and “Jai Balayya…Jai Jai Balayya” from fans were deafening. Balayya greeted the crowd in his trademark style and left the theatre without disturbing the crowd further. Considering that this is Balakrishna’s 98th film and first film after taking reigns as public representative (MLA) of Hindupur, huge hype has surrounded the film.

Actress Katrina Kaif, who is attending the 68th Cannes International Film Festival as a brand ambassador of L’Oréal Paris, made for a picture perfect moment with Hollywood actress Julianne Moore here.

Katrina posed with her L’Oréal Paris co-ambassador Moore just before heading for her debut on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.

The two walked the red carpet on Wednesday night, and they spoke there for approximately five to seven minutes.

“They spoke about the number of films that Katrina has done and how she learned Hindi for Bollywood. Not only this, they also complimented each other on the dress and makeup that they donned for the red carpet,” said a source.

The “Bang Bang!” actress, who is currently busy shooting for “Fitoor” and “Jagga Jasoos”, will be shooting with Moore for L’Oréal Paris on Thursday and spoke about how they were looking forward to it.

The film festival began on Wednesday and will go on till May 24.

Moore, who won the Best Actress Award at the Cannes International Film Festival 2014 but was unable to receive it last year, was presented with the honour at the ongoing edition’s Mini-Palme.

After a long time, Dasari Narayana Rao directed a big hero in the form of Balakrishna in ‘Param Veera Chakra’.

Naturally, there were a lot of expectations on the movie but it turned out to be a disaster at the box-office. In fact, after ‘Param Veera Chakra’, many people stopped watching movies. There is an interesting fact associated with this movie.

To date, ‘Param Veer Chakra’ remains the only Balayya film in recent times whose satellite rights have not been sold.

No channel has found the courage to buy the movie and tamper with their future. That is quite a record of sorts, for Balayya’s films do pretty decent business and fetch good satellite prices as well. Hence, the credit for the movie’s satellite rights being unsold should go to Dasari.
