Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan recently clarified that his Magha Maasa Deeksha, a religious journey visiting temples in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, is purely a pilgrimage with no political motive behind it. Despite being in alliance with the BJP, he emphasized that his actions were driven by personal faith and his devotion to Sanatana Dharma, not politics.
After visiting the Agastya Maharshi Ashram in Kerala, Pawan Kalyan explained that he had been wanting to visit this sacred place for a long time, but had postponed the trip due to health issues, particularly severe spinal whiplash injuries. Addressing speculation about political intentions, he asserted that while people may interpret his visit as politically motivated, he was solely focused on his religious and personal well-being during this tour. He also revealed that part of his trip was to seek medical advice for his long-standing ailments, such as spondylitis, which Kerala is known to treat with authentic Ayurvedic methods.
Additionally, the Deputy CM discussed the issue of the Tirumala laddu adulteration scam, assuring the public that the authorities are taking steps to prevent such incidents from happening again. Taking a subtle dig at the YCP government, he remarked that temples and their properties should not be viewed as financial resources. He also expressed his intention to visit Sabarimala for both pilgrimage and medical reasons, as well as to visit the Siddhashram near Sabarimala. Throughout his statements, Pawan Kalyan emphasized his focus on spirituality and devotion over any political agenda.
