There has been widespread speculation about Megastar Chiranjeevi’s potential nomination to the Rajya Sabha, especially after his recent meetings with BJP leaders. However, Chiranjeevi has firmly denied these reports, clarifying that he has no intention of re-entering active politics.
Meanwhile, fresh buzz surrounds veteran actor Kamal Haasan, with reports suggesting that he could soon be nominated for a Rajya Sabha seat. If the reports are accurate, the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu is considering Kamal for the position, with the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for July 2025.
Adding weight to these speculations, Tamil Nadu Minister PK Sekar Babu recently met Kamal Haasan, reportedly to discuss the nomination. Kamal, who founded the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party, aligned with the DMK for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. As per political sources, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had assured Kamal a Rajya Sabha seat in return for his support in the polls.
With six Rajya Sabha seats set to fall vacant in June, all eyes are now on the DMK’s next move. If things go as anticipated, Kamal Haasan may soon find himself in the Upper House of Parliament, marking another significant chapter in his political journey.
