Nearly a decade after his last visit for the Amaravati capital launch, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to return to Andhra Pradesh for the much-anticipated Amaravati 2.0 project inauguration on May 2. The earlier phase of the project had seen challenges, including complaints about inadequate central support. But this time, the stage is being set for a grand relaunch with renewed momentum and vision.
The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, is making massive preparations to ensure the event reflects the cultural and economic importance of Amaravati. Reports suggest that a gathering of over 5 lakh people is expected at the venue, making it one of the largest political events in recent times.
Top leaders including Pawan Kalyan and other dignitaries will also participate in the event alongside PM Modi. To handle the scale of the event, four helipads are being constructed, hinting at the high-level coordination and planning underway.
This inauguration isn’t just symbolic—it marks a significant turning point in the capital’s development. With Chandrababu Naidu committed to completing the Amaravati project within the next three years, the Amaravati 2.0 launch is expected to act as a catalyst.
Already, agencies like the World Bank and HUDCO have extended financial support, and efforts are on to align with the 16th Finance Commission for further funding. Several investment agreements are also in place, and the relaunch is expected to reignite interest and momentum in the capital’s progress.
This event could be the start of a new chapter for Amaravati—transforming it into the administrative, cultural, and economic hub of Andhra Pradesh.
