Satya Dev and director Venkatesh Maha have reunited for their second collaboration, Rao Bahadur, which is now gearing up for a grand theatrical release. The film’s first single, “O Sundari”, released recently, has opened to an overwhelming response from audiences, setting a positive tone for the project.
Producer Anurag Reddy expressed strong confidence in the film, stating that Rao Bahadur will give both Satya Dev and Venkatesh Maha the recognition they deserve. He described the film as a period drama set between the 1960s and 1980s, highlighting its ambitious scale and storytelling. He also mentioned that Namrata Shirodkar spent nearly six hours listening to the narration, and praised the film’s writing and casting as being “on another level.”
Satya Dev shared insights into the intense transformation he underwent for his role. He revealed that his daily shoot schedule involved nearly five hours of makeup, starting as early as 4 AM and continuing late into the night. Despite the demanding process stretching over 80–85 days, he said the energy from the song O Sundari gave the team much-needed relief. He compared the film’s scale and emotional depth to global cinematic spectacles, promising a powerful theatrical experience.
Director Venkatesh Maha described the project as one that had been in development for years before finally taking shape. He credited the core team—Anurag Reddy, Sharath, Namrata Shirodkar, and others—for supporting the vision, calling them his “Avengers.” He also praised Satya Dev’s commitment, noting the actor’s long hours in makeup and multiple takes for demanding scenes.
With strong buzz around its music and ambitious storytelling, Rao Bahadur is slated for a June release and is being positioned as a large-scale, emotionally intense cinematic experience.
