Not satisfied with the removal of retired IAS officer Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar from the post of State Election Commissioner using the ordinance route, the YSR Congress party does not want to leave him or the Telugu Desam Party leaders behind him.
The ruling party is now focussing on proving that the letter written by Nimmagadda to the Union home secretary seeking additional security to him fearing attacks from the YSRC leaders is forged.
The letter also made several derogatory remarks on chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and others.
On Tuesday, YSR Congress party’s parliamentary party leader and general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy wrote a letter to Director General of Police Gautam Sawang, seeking an investigation into the alleged forgery of letter purported to have been written by Nimmagadda to the Union home ministry on March 18.
In the latter, Sai Reddy pointed that the signatures of Nimmagadda, as seen from his notification dated March 15 calling for postponement of elections to local bodies and his letter written to the Union home secretary, appeared to be different.
He said there is reason to believe that the above documents were forged and were fabricated in the office of Telugu Desam Party, Mangalagiri/Guntur as evidenced by the different signatures allegedly that of Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
Sai Reddy said it was understood from reliable sources that the documents were intentionally forged in collusion with Ramesh Kumar at the instance of the TDP leadership.
It is also understood that the letters are drafted by TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar at the instance of TDP MLC Varla Ramaiah and other TDP henchmen.
“This kind of fabrication and forgery of documents to malign the present government and YSR Congress party was going on with the instigation of TDP leadership, which is not able to bear the good governance of the YSRC. There is need to curb this kind of activity from any section of the people/party,” he said.
Sai Reddy requested the DGP to investigate into the matter to find out the facts for the difference in the signatures observed in the two documents by referring them to the Central Forensic Laboratory and to initiate further appropriate criminal action basing on the report received from the Forensic Expert.
