Tragic Stampede at RCB Victory Celebrations Leaves 11 Dead in Bengaluru

A tragic incident occurred last evening during the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) victory celebrations outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, resulting in a stampede that claimed the lives of 11 people and left many others injured.

In the aftermath, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was approached for a statement regarding the incident. However, the BCCI distanced itself from responsibility, clarifying that the event was organized solely by the franchise and not under its direct supervision.

A BCCI spokesperson stated, “This was a franchise-level event held in their city. How can we be held responsible for an event organized by a franchise? Nevertheless, the BCCI is closely monitoring the situation and remains in constant contact with the RCB management. We are continuously assessing the developments and gathering relevant data.”

The BCCI has further indicated that it will consider implementing stricter guidelines and regulations for future celebratory events to prevent such unfortunate occurrences and ensure public safety. There is a strong possibility that the governing body may restrict or even prohibit large-scale victory parades going forward.

While victory celebrations of this scale are rare, the unfortunate events in Bengaluru underscore the need for stringent crowd management and safety protocols during such public gatherings.
