Kangana Ranaut Opens ‘The Mountain Story’ Café in Manali
Bollywood stars are increasingly branching out into various businesses beyond their cinematic careers. Mouni Roy recently launched Badmaash in Mumbai, while Rakul Preet opened the lavish Arambam restaurant in Hyderabad. Now, Kangana Ranaut has joined the trend by venturing into the food industry.
Kangana inaugurated her café and eatery, The Mountain Story, in her hometown of Manali on February 14, Valentine’s Day. Expressing her passion for the venture, she said, “This café isn’t just a business; it’s a tribute to my mother’s cooking and the beauty of the Himalayas.”
Located in the picturesque town of Prini, just 4 km from Manali on the Manali-Naggar road, The Mountain Story specializes in authentic Himachali cuisine. The café is designed in the traditional Kath Kuni architectural style and has been under construction since 2020. Architect Duni Chand, who oversaw the project, shared insights into its exquisite design and ambiance. With a luxurious setting, the café almost resembles a high-end hotel, making it a must-visit destination.
In the midst of her new business venture, Kangana’s recent film Emergency has completed two weeks at the box office, grossing approximately ₹17.85 crore. Despite generating initial buzz, the film, which had a production budget of ₹60 crore, has struggled to perform well, with earnings barely reaching ₹21 crore. Competing films like Sky Force and Deva have contributed to its declining box office performance. However, Kangana remains focused on her latest business, which seems to be receiving a much warmer reception than her film.
