Prime Video to Premiere Sobhita Dhulipala’s Crime Thriller Cheekatilo
January 8, 2026

Streaming platform Prime Video has announced its latest Telugu original, “Cheekatilo”, starring Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead role. Directed by Sharan Kopishetty, the film is a gripping crime-suspense thriller that follows a true crime podcaster whose relentless pursuit of truth uncovers some of the darkest and most brutal secrets of the city. Produced by D. Suresh Babu under Suresh Productions Pvt Ltd, the movie also features Viswadev Rachakonda in a key role and is set to premiere on January 23.
Set in the bustling city of Hyderabad, Cheekatilo follows Sobhita Dhulipala as Sandhya, a true crime podcaster determined to seek justice after her intern’s mysterious death exposes a chilling trail of crimes. The narrative combines suspense, investigative intrigue, and emotional depth, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.
Nikhil Madhok, Director & Head of Originals at Prime Video India, said the streaming service is committed to expanding its South Originals lineup with bold, rooted, and creatively distinct stories. He highlighted that Cheekatilo blends cultural authenticity with modern storytelling tools like podcasts, and its universal themes of resilience and sisterhood are designed to resonate not only with Telugu audiences but viewers across India and around the world.
The film also stars Chaitanya Visalakshmi, Esha Chawla, Jhansi, Aamani, and Vadlamani Srinivas in pivotal roles, further adding to the film’s depth and appeal.
