According to media sources, the IT department has been conducting a search at Sukumar’s residence since last morning. The investigation is centered around the fiscal records related to Pushpa 2, the highly successful sequel that has taken the Indian cinema industry by storm. The news, which was initially kept under wraps, surfaced only recently.

Interestingly, the IT raids seem to be linked to Pushpa 2, as both Mythri Movie Makers and now Sukumar, who directed the blockbuster, are facing investigation. Pushpa 2 was promoted as one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema, with claims that it grossed over ₹1800 crore. This massive success appears to have attracted the attention of the IT department, which is now examining the financial details behind the film’s earnings.

Reports also suggest that IT officials escorted Sukumar from the airport to his residence during the search operation, which is still ongoing.
