All of you are well aware of the manner in which the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh has taken place and it has led to its share of complications. Anyhow, what’s done is done and now the focus is on the new capital for Andhra Pradesh. The latest on that front is what is going to be the name of Andhra Pradesh’s capital.

Different names are making rounds and one among them is Amaravati. Though Tullur was also into consideration, it is around 30 kms from Amaravati and sources from AP government confirm they won’t name the capital as Tullur. The other option Guntur is logically very far and so Amaravati is looking apt.

Incidentally, Amaravati also happens to be the ancient capital of Telugus is Dhanyakataka during Satavahana regime. It is also a very popular Lord Shiva’s abode. Also, the faith of Buddhism also flourished there extensively. All in all, it looks like the ancient capital of Telugus might become the modern capital of Andhra Pradesh. Let us see what happens.

Director Shankar is perhaps the most expensive filmmaker in India who charges a bomb. He is the man who took the pay cheques of directors to the next level for first-time. With his latest offing I, made with a budget of nearly Rs 200 Crore, received mixed reviews and difficult to do wonders at Box Office, the wide discussion in Tamil Nadu is that whether director Shankar cuts his remuneration?

Director Sreenu Vaitla offered to do a film for “free” with Aagadu producers, director Trivikram Srinivas and actor Pawan Kalyan returned part of their remunerations to producer BVSN Prasad for “piracy fiasco”. So, Kollywood is waiting to see whether Shankar admits his failure and cut his pay for the film. Already distributors of Lingaa are vying up for Rajini and producer Rockline for their losses. Although I is faring well now, trade pundits predict it will not be easy for the film to sustain long with this “poor” word of mouth talk. Let’s wait and see how Gentleman Shankar reacts.
