Microsoft’s Windows 10 coming up with New Browser
Tech giant Microsoft is launching a new browser along with its Windows 10. Buzz is that the new browser has been named as Spartan (code name) and it’s being built along with Windows 10 time frame. However, Internet Explorer is not being replaced as it’d be still there. Although earlier reports had it that MS have plans to improve IE on par with Chrome and Firefox, latest is that it’s coming up with brand-new browser instead of it.
Spartan is not Internet Explorer 12 but it’s still going to use Microsoft’s Chakra JavaScript engine and Microsoft’s Trident rendering engine (not WebKit). Spartan is said to be new, ultra light-weight browser which improvises the browsing experience and enhances the speed with more options.
Microsoft may unveil Spartan on January 21 when the company reveals its next set of Windows 10 features. However, many insiders feel that it’s too early to say whether Spartan will be functional enough for the inclusion in the Windows 10 by January 21. But going by reports, Windows 10 will see the light of the day in 2015 and so Spartan.

The Most Entertaining Romcoms of 2014
2014 hasn’t really been a year of great movies, leave alone great rom-coms. A lot of movies were lackluster, a lot were below average. That still doesn’t rule out the fact, that there were a few rom-coms that entertained us, made us laugh, made us cry and made us love, love stories even more. We pick a few rom-coms worth a watch.
Oohalu Gusa Gusalade – The runaway hit by Srini Avasaralawas a great revelation. Naga Shourya and Rashi Khanna were fresh faces but the charm and ‘happiness’ with which the characters played their roles was worth a lot of applause. Srinibrought a hint of Woody Allen into Telugu cinema, a general inclination towards having lovely conversations and used an interesting character, played by himself, to add some timely twists to the movie. All in all, it was a low-budget rom-com that was clean, entertaining and pleasing.
Manam – Three generations of Akkineni family in one movie. A rare occasion in cinema, rendered even rarer by the sad demise of ANR garu after the movie was filmed. There was a lot of hype around the movie. Manam, the movie, directed by Vikram Kumar, turned out as that rare movie that went beyond expectations. It was a great collage of love stories, brought together through a wonderful screenplay that kept audiences engaged and entertained the entire run-time.
Loukyam – Gopichand and Rakul Preet, supported by SampathRaj’s wonderful support role and Brahmanandam and more importantly, Prithvi’s comedy make Loukyam one of the most entertaining movies of the year. It is a routine love story, where the hero plays a street-smart problem fixer, who wades through troubled waters to save his own love along with another person’s. The movie was unfortunate because of its timing, sandwiched between big releases. Nevertheless, it could be proud of the fact that it held its own.
Oka Laila Kosam – Vijay Kumar Konda’s Oka Laila Kosam, featuring Pooja Hegde and Naga Chaitanya was a very pretty movie. With the theme of unconditional love and freedom, the movie used brilliant, feel-good, rich and vibrant cinematography, to attract the audience. Pooja Hegdeimmediately garnered everyone’s attention and rightly so.

Muhurat Confirmed for Kiran Reddy’s Re-entry
It’s almost finalized. The former and last CM of United Andhra Pradesh Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy is all set for his political re-entry. As reported earlier, Kiran would be joining the BJP fold. Kiran will be joining BJP on January 29 in Vijayawada in the presence of BJP National President Amit Shah. Openly revolting against his own Congress party for unilaterally bifurcating Andhra Pradesh, Kiran Reddy had resigned to his CM post.
He later floated his own political outfit Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) ahead of elections and faced poll drubbing. The party tasted a disaster as none of the contestants even got deposit. In fact, Kiran’s own brother Kishore Kumar Reddy who contested from Piler constituency, the constituency in which Kiran believed to hold sway, too lost much to the embarrassment of the former CM.
Although Kiran Reddy boasted his best as the champion for the cause of united Andhra Pradesh, with UPA II successfully dividing the state, Kiran had lost. Still he has earned good fan base in the Seema Andhra region. With his joining, the party is expected to gain strength in the truncated state.
What Are Those Two Film Shankar?
Every Tamil and few Bollywood makers who promote their movies in Tollywood often claim that they are dying at heart to make a straight Telugu movie but its not materialising. Heroes like Surya, Karthi and Vishal said this many times, while Tamil director said umpteen times. Bollywood heroes and directors too made such comments many a times.
King of commercial films, S Shankar too made similar comments the other day at the audio launch of January 14th releasing ‘I’. “What can I give to Telugu audiences for their show of affection on me? I’ve to do a straight Telugu film one day. In the past I’ve attempted it twice but failed”, he said, raising curiosity. What are those two films Shankar tried to make directly in Tollywood?
Of course, Shankar narrated the story of ‘Gentleman’ to Megastar Chiranjeevi first, only to get rejected by him. Later he has offered lead role to Chiru for ‘Oke Okkadu’ too, but our mega boss hasn’t found the script interesting. Has Chiranjeevi done these two, Shankar would have got to straight Telugu movies by now.
Story by Puri, Direction by You
Ace writer-director-producer Puri Jagannadh has given a call for talent hunt for new directors. Puri is planning to introduce new directors but the condition is that they have to pass his test. Puri’s challenge is that he narrates 10 stories in 10 days to the contestants who have to make a short film on it within 10 minutes including penning dialogues and developing story and roping in cast.
The one who impresses Puri will be given chance to make a film written by Puri himself. Leading Telugu daily and its channel will jointly promote the contest, conduct the test and help Puri in scrutiny. Having completed 15 years in Telugu Film Industry, Puri Jagannadh is not just successful filmmaker but he is one of the fastest filmmaker.
In fact, directors like SS Rajamouli publicly expressed their wish to learn from Puri and wants to work under him as an assistant director. Especially Puri’s trademark dialogues are very famous and his raw characterization of hero is much talked about. Needless to say that it’s tough to impress Puri.
Bad Year for that News Channel
Looks like, 2014 is a bad year for ABN Andhrajyothi news channel as it suffered a big set back in form of ban by the Telangana MSOs (Multiple System Operators) in the region. Alleging that the channel adopted anti-Telangana stand and working on an anti-Telangana government plank, MSOs from the new state blocked the channel’s telecast. Though TV9 too faced the ire and ban, it apologized and managed to come out of it.
Although none other than Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar personally intervened into the issue and even wrote a letter to Telangana CM KCR for lifting of the blockage, it hardly helped ABN Channel. Even press council and broadcasting media came in support of ABN that too couldn’t bail out the channel.
Due to the blockage, it has paid hefty price as the channel’s advertisements revenue in the new state dipped to all-time low. Editor-in-chief and chairman Vemuri Radhakrishna didn’t give up his fight in the matter and his unrelenting nature in the whole incident is laudable. Let’s hope that at least in the new year, the channel would overcome this phase and will be back with a bang.
‘Don’t Auction Rajini’s Property, We’ll Repay the Loan’
With the issue of public notice by Exim bank to auction Rajinikanth’s property as the producer Mediaone Global Entertainment Ltd failed to repay Rs 22.02 Crore, producers have finally came out in open and issued a statement that they’ll be repaying the loan and asked not to drag guarantors of loan into the issue.
“The act of Exim Bank to call upon the guarantors Mrs Latha Rajinikanth and Dr evender CR to repay the loan of Mediaone, when the principal borrower is making arrangements to repay the loan is not warranted. Company is taking necessary steps to repay the loan, protect the interest of the company and discharge the responsibilities of the guarantors,” said in a statement.
Explaining the reasons for the delay in clearing the loan, it said, “In fact, the company is in the process of clearing the loan on or before March 31, 2015 and had various discussions with officials of Exim Bank in December 2014 to settle the matter. The company has serviced the interest for the loan entirely without any default till June 2014. Because of certain cash flow issues, the company was negotiating with the Eixm Bank to restructure the loan repayment, like done in other industries.”
