We Are On Par With Hindi Anchors

Share
One girls who dresses well and in keeping with the times is anchor Rashmi of the telly show Jabardasth. Unlike the boring old-school anchors who dress only in churidars and sareees, Rashmi is a welcome break and is appealing to watch on screen.
Thankfully, various outfits suit her figure and she is pretty decent in the way she conducts the show. But there are some old-school scribes who wouldn’t leave her alone and she has this to say to them: She said, “If we dress traditionally, they call us aunties, if we wear tight jeans, they say we are headstrong; if we dress glamourously then they say we are not ashamed.
What are we supposed to do? Look at the way the Hindi anchors dress. Our programmes are telecast worldwide, so we have to dress well. But looks like there is no win-win situation here.”

Sad, But True: Great Director’s Last Days

He was a talented writer, director and is lauded as the comedy brahma of the Telugu film industry. But despite all his fame and success, Jandhyala’s last days were uneventful. Having run of all his earnings, his last film was Vichitram which had Ghazal Srinivas as the hero. The film was an utter flop and he shifted base to Hyderabad.
Since he had twins at a very late age, he had to run the family by doing stage shows and hosting comedy programmes. During his last days, the comedians who were introduced by him too stayed away from him. So, he was forced to spend time with a few close friends. He passed away at a young age. Though no one thought of him when he was alive, lakhs of people turned up for his funeral at Pujagutta crematorium.

KCR Dancing To MIM Tunes?

Share
Is Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dancing to the tunes of the MIM and taking decision that suits the Telangana Rashtra Samithi ally? Well, that is what the Bharatiya Janata Party feels. On Thursday, BJP floor leader in the Assembly Dr K Lakshman alleged that the Telangana State government was taking decisions under the pressure from MIM party leaders.
Lakshman alleged that the State Government had directed the L&T to change the path of Metro Rail only after discussing with the MIM MLAs and it took unilateral decisions in this regard. He asked the Government to rethink on changing of Ganesh immersions from Hussain Sagar and said the change of place will injure sentiments of the Hindus.
The Chief Minister however clarified that he had not taken the decision on Metro rail alignment only after discussing with the MIM leaders. He said the MIM legislators happened to come to his chambers at a time when he was holding the meeting with Metro Rail officials and he had to ask them to join the meeting. He assured that he would convene an all-party meeting shortly to discuss and take a decision on the proposed changes in the metro rail alignment.

Revanth Creates Ruckus In Assembly

Share
Telugu Desam Party deputy floor leader in the Assembly A Revanth Reddy created a ruckus in the Assembly when the TRS members did not allow him to speak even on Thursday. Revanth Reddy wanted to raise some issue during Zero Hour. However, the members of treasury benches raised objection and created furore which led to the brief adjournment of the House. After the House re-assembled, the TDP members protested over the issue and demanded that Revanth Reddy be allowed to speak.
Intervening on the issue, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao pointed out that it was decided to follow the rule of ‘One Party, One Minute’ during Zero Hour. Since Prakash Goud already spoke on behalf of TDP, Revanth Reddy’s request was disallowed. A few minutes later, when Revanth Reddy wanted to speak during the debate on irregularities in housing societies, the TRS members again objected to the same. This apparently irritated the TDP MLA and out of rage, he broke the headphones leading to ruckus in the House which forced Speaker S Madhusudan Chary to adjourn the House for 10 minutes.
Later, the TDP MLAs called on the Speaker requesting him to protect their rights in the House. They requested the Speaker to give a ruling on Revanth Reddy’s alleged remarks and assured that they would abide by it. However, they would not follow the instructions of TRS members. They said there was no rule which asks a member to apologise for his remarks although the Speaker is empowered to expunge the controversial comments from the records.

“UNGLI” is my low-budget superhero film !

Share
Dharma Productions’ soon to release UNGLI is nothing typical to Bollywood. In fact, Producer Karan Johar states that it is the most unusual film that he has produced till date. The film is a sleek and edgy drama about five friends who want to bring about a change in the system. What makes the movie interesting is that instead of treating the subject in a heavy-handed manner, it is a fun take on the angst of today’s youth.
While the UNGLI gang fights against the system, they do that in a very exciting and entertaining manner. “I always like my films to have some kind of message in all that entertainment. I think UNGLI is entertaining at the same time it has a social angle. So, I would like to call it my low-budget superhero film.” The director has also written Rang De Basanti in the past.
Talking about the film actor Randeep Hooda said, “I think UNGLI is more like a quirky Rang De Basanti. It has all the elements of what the general public is feeling currently.” UNGLI stars Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Sanjay Dutt, Randeep Hooda, Angad Bedi and Neil Bhoopalam in the lead.
The film intends to give an interesting take on day-to-day problems faced by a common man and how a gang of five friends (signifying the five fingers) choose to stand up and fight for justice with a very interesting and liberating approach. UNGLI is slated to release this Friday, November 28, 2014.

Mahesh Fans Hurt Over RGV’s Comments?

At a time when social media is buzzing over the macho looks of Jr NTR from ‘Temper’, it is also being heard that Mahesh Babu fans are upset with the way Temper got praised by maverick Ram Gopal Varma. Talking about the powerful content of Temper, Ramu tried to compare the film’s potential with two Mahesh’s flicks, which sparked a row.
“Compared to Tarak’s Temper, Pokiri and Businessman seem like flops” is what Ram Gopal Varma said in his conclusion while quoting that Jr NTR is outstanding in the movie. In fact, he compared the three high adrenaline action-bound dramas that are directed by Puri Jagan. Maybe he might have addressed the movie as “Tarak’s Temper”, but reality is that he is talking about three Puri’s movies.
However, some Mahesh Babu fans have taken it on a wrong note before getting hurt. “Why should RGV compare NTR with Mahesh if he wants to highlight the former? Pokiri is a industry hit, didn’t he know that?” they started venting fumes on social sites in this way.
