Censor Shock Extended To 6 months?
Exactly a month back when the news of Censor Board chief Dhanalakshmi’s transfer was heard, biggies like Kona Venkat had expressed a huge sigh of relief saying that Telugu film industry will now flourish to a next level. Because her forceful chopping of certain scenes, dialogues and glamorous shots has literally worried producers and directors.
However the happiness seems to be short lived for everyone. We hear that Dhanalakshmi’s tenure got extended to 6 more months and it may be pushed further to a year also. Due to non-availability of a person who could replace her, she got a chance to continue in the post, say sources. Another version is that she continued to influence the government through her high profile contacts and got the extension thing done. Whatever it is, filmmakers who want to sell glamour and violence will have tough times for more 6 months to 1 year.
Retirement age in TS won’t be raised because….
It’s known that AP state government increased the retirement age limit of their employees. The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a Bill enhancing retirement age of government employees to 60 years from 58. After the Andhra Pradesh government enacted a legislation enhancing the retirement age, leaders of Telangana employees started pressuring Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao seeking the facility.
Few months back a delegation of Telangana non-gazette officers association led by its president G. Deviprasad Rao represented its demand to the Chief Minister. But seems the Telangana government not in a mood to enhance the age limit and the government has made it clear that it would not raise retirement age of its employees under any circumstances.
Speaking in the Assembly during question hour on Thursday, Finance Minister Etela Rajender said that the youth were eagerly waiting for jobs after creation of the Telangana State and therefore the government has decided not to increase retirement age of 58 years. He said that 10,000 employees retire every year and there will be no vacancies if the retirement age is increased to 60 years.
Has the Controversy Stopped ‘Mana Kurralle’ Release?
Films and controversies go hand in hand and there are those times when certain controversies get dominating enough to stop the release of a film. Even big stars like Kamal Haasan had a tough time trying to release ‘Vishwaroopam’ so one can imagine what happens to a film made at a smaller budget. Recently, we told you how the film ‘Mana Kurralle’ was making some buzz due to few controversies in its storyline.
Now, it looks like they have taken a bigger shape and the result is seen by all. The film was due for release on November 21st and the required declarations were made. However, the latest update is that the film is postponed suddenly and the reasons behind that were not clear. We have done some investigation and it turns out that a few section of people who happened to watch the private screening of the film raised an alarm.
It is heard that the film has few scenes and dialogues taken from real life inspiration which offended few top realtors, IT Honchos and some political leaders. As a result, they have sent a word to the makers about watching the film and then taking a call failing which they would not hesitate to proceed legally to stop the screening of the film. Different speculations are making rounds over ‘Mana Kurralle’ but the closest reliable version states that it is the controversial material in the film which is causing a bit of stoppage to the film’s release.
Directed and produced by Veera Sanker, the industry talk has come out positively and they feel this is a well knit commercial entertainer which covers different aspects such as romance, action, comedy and few society related issues. On the brighter side, three songs have got good response among the youngsters and masses.
The presence of big directors like S S Rajamouli, Kodi Ramakrishna acting as themselves in the film has added to the hype. Some of the recent stills and inside reports from industry reveal hero Arvind Krishna’s role as Lachchu is also triggering curiosity among the masses as they are connecting to it. But unless the clouds of controversy are cleared, nothing can be confirmed about the release so let us hope that gets resolved first.
Hari lo Ranga Hari – Just A Rumor
For the third time in a row, director Sudhir Varma, who has shot to fame with super hit Swamy Ra Ra, has quashed news about the possible title of his upcoming flick that features Naga Chaitanya in the lead. Earlier he has directly revealed on social network that ‘Mayagadu’ and ‘Dorakadu’ are not the titles of their movie. As the movie is tipped to be a crime action comedy, cine folks are tricked to believe that those titles are real as they suit well.
Most recently, a source from Annapurna Studios gave a tip off that ‘Hari lo Ranga Hari’ is the title under consideration. But Varma is quick to react at gossips as he cleared the air saying that he hasn’t even considered that title too. Probably it looks like the unit members are making the best of these rumors as they are giving lot of pre-release hype for the movie where Naga Chaitanya will be seen in his suave best.
YSR Sold Out Telangana Lands – KCR
As the entire house escalated into chaos over controversial DLF lands settlements, the CM KCR has stood up giving a detailed statement over the issue. He said his party had no relation to the DLF land issues as they were entirely brokered and executed during the previous governments of congress. He also indirectly retorted to Revant Reddy, asking the speaker to save their leaders and the government from such outrageous comments.
He said that all the DLF agreements were done during the YSR’s tenure and he recollected his presence finance minister Eetela Rajender’s participation in the Dharna at Indhira Park during those allocations. He lambasted late YS Rajashekhar Reddy saying he had deliberately sold out the lands of Telangana.
Minister goofs up on Rajinikanth’s Name, Apologises
Newly-installed union Defence Minister — and former Goa chief minister — Manohar Parrikar Thursday almost incurred southern cinema czar Rajinikanth’s wrath when he missed out on mentioning the legendary actor’s name while formally acknowledging the presence of dignitaries present at the 45th IFFI inauguration ceremony here.
After reading out the names of Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley, Minister of State for I&B Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, state Governor Mridula Sinha, Parrikar appeared to have missed out on Rajinikanth’s name. But the former Goa chief minister, known for his ready wit, immediately made up for the lapse with a smile.
Addressing Rajnikanth with a sheepish smile, Parrikar said: “Sorry for that goof. I had written (the names down). Forgot the paper down there.” Rajinikanth, known for his fiery persona onscreen but gentle otherwise, smiled back with equal warmth.
Breaking: Telugu heroine beaten up badly!
Well, this is surely a bad news about Bollywood and the way they tackle people who are from other industries. Now, the point is that sexy heroine Shradha Das who sizzled screen with her sensuous looks is hospitalised. She was hit quite hard by another heroine who was acting along with her as a lead.
The other lady is Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Mannaara who is usually given importance during the promotion of the movie titled ‘Zid’. When everything was going on well, there were certain action scenes where Mannaara had to hit Shradha. Shockingly, she really hut her with the original sticks instead of the ones which are duplicate lie beside them.
This hurt Shradha and lasted with a clot in her eye. Now, Shradha feels bad about it and thinks that Tollywood is best for her. She also seems like telling to quit Bollywood films. She feels bad that her scenes are almost being cut and this makes her feel sad. She even mentions that Tollywood is giving her sufficient remuneration! Well, hope she recovers soon.
Jagan making a fool of himself?
The Andhra Pradesh Opposition leader and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to make a fool of himself is the talk in AP. This is because Jagan has called foe a Mahadharna in Vishakapatnam where the recent calamity Hudhud hit. This dharna is going to take place on December 5th. However many political analysts also say that thus dharna is a pure waste of time and energy.
These negative comments came on screen after seeing the work that Chandrababu has done after the cyclone hit the port city. His rescue activities were appreciated all-over the country. The port city people now seemed to be more determined so as to bring back Vizag to normalcy. But do you think that Jagan’s dharna can make a mark? Will thus affect the ruling party?

GVK says no to NTR’s Picture
The Andhra Pradesh health minister Kamineni Srinivas is reportedly unhappy with private firm GVK for not showing any favourable response to paint the great actor and former CM N T Rama Rao’s picture on AP’s 108 emergency vehicles. It is known that recently AP Cabinet altered name of the Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme to NTR Vaidyaseva.
Kamineni Srinivas reportedly told GVK representatives that until now 108 ambulances only display state government emblem. He added that since now government has named this scheme as NTR Vaidyaseva, NTR’s picture should be painted on all the 108 ambulances. Sources say that GVK representatives haven’t responded favourably to the minister’s suggestion.
This is even after saying that state government would bear 95 percent of the total expenditure and GVK might have to bear five percent. Mr Srinivas also reportedly proposed that if the GVK does not agree for NTR’s picture on the 108 vehicles, the agency might have to be changed or the expenses should be equally divided between the government and GVK.
