Screen Talk: ‘I Am Feeling Hot’

Share
Rockstar heroine Nargis Fakhri was in town to walk the ramp for Pankaj and Nidhi during the Blender’s Pride Fashion evening held at N Convention Centre in Hyderabad. Nargis looked hot and walked the ramp in an intricately embroidered light turquoise blue and white dress. “Oh I love fashion and it feels good to be a show stopper for Pankaj and Nidhi’s show,” says Nargis who could not take the heat of the camera lights flashed at her.
“I am feeling hot,” she said to the reporters vying to get a byte from her. She has just completed shooting for a Hollywood production. But Nargis says the time is not right to disclose any details about it. As for her Bollywood ventures, she has two in her kitty and she says she is looking forward to 2015 for their release.
The girl was in Budapest recently for a magazine shoot and says she had a lovely vacation in Europe travelling through Czech Republic, Austria and a couple of other European countries. Incidentally, her mother is from the Czech Republic and Nargis says she loves to travel. And yes, Nargis says she will surely do a Telugu film as ‘you only get to live once’.
Well, like all her Bollywood counterparts, she is aware of Mahesh and Rana and confesses she does not mind making her Tollywood debut with either of them. “Of course, I will go back tired with a headache and will have to struggle a lot to get my lines in Telugu, but I will surely do a film here,” says a smiling Nargis before signing off.

Costly Directors – Costly Homes

Share
It takes good taste and class for coming up with something creative and interesting. This is seen in the aesthetics of the homes built by few. Akin to that, Tollywood has got few big filmmakers who have a rich taste in shaping up their homes. First in the list is crazy director Puri Jagannadh. His abode is called ‘Cave’ and it is a state of the art office with all amenities.
Those who visited ‘Cave’ say nobody in India has got this kind of office cum residence providing all facilities with an artistic and aesthetic touch. Then there is director V V Vinayak’s house in the Apple Valley, it is also quite interesting. The jackpot hit maker Sreenu Vaitla’s house in film nagar is built atop a hill and sources say this has got some mindblowing interiors which is quite rare.
The irony is, few other big league filmmakers like S S Rajamouli and Trivikram Srinivas live in a simple setup of home. But the other three are showing their flamboyance not just in their films but also in their lifestyle. The final touch is, filmmaker Boyapati Srinu is the only director in Tollywood who drives a Range Rover.

Now 500 Cr Golden Temple in AP Capital

Share
Amritsar, Punjab is famous for Golden Temple and later Golden Temple was constructed in Vellore. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana didnot have golden temples till now though they boast of rich culture and tradition. All that may soon change as Golden Temple is all set to come at a gorgeous location in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. According to sources International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) is getting ready to construct a spectacular golden Lord Butter Krishna temple near Kondaveedu Fort of Guntur district with a whopping fund of Rs 500 crores.
An International school, medical centre, religious theme park, museum with the history of Kondaveedu, vedic school and cow protection centre will also be established in the premises. Sometime back a rare idol of Krishna, known as Venna Mudda Gopaludu was found at ancient and historical fort during excavations in 1998 and ISKON inspired by it decided to construct a golden butter temple.
K.Siva Reddy, Kondaveedu development society convener says the temple belongs to the 13th century and was sculpted during the regime of King Srikrishna Devaraya. Satyagopinath Das, South India President of ISKON and trustee of the golden temple project said they started the project to protect the cultural and spiritual heritage and it will create comprehensive spiritual tourist attraction zone in 150 acres of land. Govt allotted 21 acres of land while ISKON bought 58 acres.

Rajinikanth: ‘My Daughter lost money but…’

Share
“She need not earn money as long as she does not waste any money that I have earned”, said Superstar Rajnikanth, giving a most shocking tip to her daughter Soundarya. While addressing the gathering at ‘Lingaa’ audio launch, he made these comments in reference to the flop show of ‘Kochadaiayan’ that was directed by his darling daughter.
Rajnikanth pointed out that Soundarya has lost huge chunk of money by making Kochadaiayaan but praised her for the experience she has got. “She lost money, but the experience was huge. She knows more about people’s money, time and schedules”, he said. One may wonder why Rajni spoke about his daughter at the audio launch of Lingaa, so here goes the answer. ‘Lingaa’ is co-produced by marketing and distribution giant EROS along with Rockline Venkatesh.
And for freshers, Soundarya joined recently as Director for Creative and Strategy at Eros Entertainment. The company considers her to be an asset as she has immense experience in digital technology now. That justifies why Rajni spoke about his daughter and the money-tip.

Mukunda Buyers Afraid Of Pawan’s Presence?

Share
Pawan Kalyan, will be soon seen as Lord Krishna, as he gears up along with family hero Venkatesh for the release of ‘Gopala Gopala’. Despite some setbacks including shoot delays and back pain of Pawan, the flick is making its way for Sankranthi 2015 as producer Sharat Marar indicates that January 14/15th will have Tollywood witnessing this new generation multi-starrer.
And here comes the ‘mega’ debut of Varun Tej, as ‘Mukunda’ is also being planned for a release on similar date. Will the youngster dare his Baabai’s flick to test waters for the first time? If they are confident of result, surely ‘Mukunda’ could be pitted against ‘Gopala Gopala’ as getting theatres is not a deal. But what matters for buyers is the thing that is really to be looked on.
A distributor says, “No matter they are heroes from same family or not, Gopala Gopala and Mukunda are two big films and they need enough spacing before and after releases to amass maximum first weekend collections”. Being a newcomer, it is better if Varun Tej’s film is planned for a December release as there are no big releases around in the 3rd and 4th weeks of this month.
Otherwise, apart from vying for Sankranthi race, it is better to hit screens in February. For a debut hero, competing with other biggies is not important, but releasing in a isolated time is key to garner huge attention. This what buyers from all regions are feeling about the Mega debut movie, as they feel like wobbling if the youngster has to share theatres with Baabai Pawan. We have to see what Mukunda team will say.

Woman behind Sachin’s Nellore Connection

Share
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar adopting Puttamraju Kandreega, a village in Nellore district, certainly has caught the national attention and grabbed the headlines. But what’s baffling many is what’s Sachin’s connection to the Nellore and who played instrumental role in his decision to adopt the downtrodden village. Here is the story behind Sachin’s visit to remote village. Ms Gorle Rekha Rani, the joint collector of Nellore district, is the lady who influenced Sachin to adopt Puttamraju Kandreega.
Going into details, Ms Rekha had bumped into Sachin on a flight where she introduced herself and that’s the whole genesis of Sachin adopting Nellore village. “I was on a personal trip to visit my son who is being trained in Goldman Sachs in New York. And Sachin was on the same flight. I am not a very keen follower of cricket but knew about Sachin Tendulkar and the impact he could create. Everyone in the flight lounge was taking his autographs and photographs as a cricketing hero, but I looked at him as an MP. I introduced myself as someone from Andhra and told him that I knew his friend Chamundeshwarnath.
That was a plus point as I could gauge the difference in his demeanor, he was very receptive. Then I asked him how he was utilising his MP funds and invited him to come to Nellore where he could start a model village,” Rani told DC. “We got talking and started writing notes on a tissue paper! There were about 10 to 13 issues he wanted to concentrate on – children, women, drinking water… he was talking almost like an administrator,” Rani added.
“We spoke for about an hour, exchanged email IDs and later started co-ordinating. I admired his commitment. After I returned from the US, I told my collector about the same. I then got Sachin to speak to our collector and get the project rolling,” Rani said, adding “Sachin made sure he chose a very interior village. If this village develops, there are 10 villages around it that can use its infrastructure.” During his visit, Tendulkar had laid foundation for the construction of Rs 2.79 crore worth developmental works (in the first phase).
And definitely all the credit goes to Ms Rekha Rani. Meanwhile, Rekha who had lost her IPS husband Pardesi Naidu in a Maoist mine blast in 1987, has her hopes pinned on her son. Definitely, IAS officers like Rekha Rani are an inspiration to reckon with.

T-state symbols clashing with AP

Share
Telangana crusader and first Chief Minister of the state K. Chandrasekhar Rao has held a special meeting with higher authorities and finalized the official symbols of Telangana.
According to the latest, Palapitta (Indian Roller) has been chosen as the State Bird of Telangana followed by State Animal – Deer, State Flower – Tangedu (botanical name Cassia Auriculata, an yellow flower widely used in Bathukamma festival), State Tree: Jammi Chettu/ Sami Tree (botanical name Prosopis spicegera). Carved out of Andhra Pradesh as 29th State of India, Telangana was formed on June 2, 2014 with Hyderabad as its capital.
Presently, Hyderabad is the joint capital for both AP and Telangana for a period of not more than ten years. Meanwhile, three symbols of Telangana are coinciding with AP. Already the official sport of AP is Kabaddi, official bird of AP is Palapitta (Indian Roller) and official Fruit of AP is Mango. It needs to be seen whether AP now makes any changes or try to continue the same. It’s certainly a tricky situation for CM of AP.
