Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar Sunday morning began a visit to the village in Andhra Pradesh which he has decided to adopt. Soon after arrival in Puttamrajuvari Kandriga, the parliamentarian unveiled a pylon to adopt the village and launch various development works. Tendulkar was accorded a warm welcome by Nellore District Collector N. Srikanth, other officials and villagers as his chopper landed from Krishnapatnam Port, where he had a night halt. 

He will lay the foundation stone for housing, construction of road and some other development works being undertaken with the Rs.2.79 crore he has been provided under his MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds. This is Tendulkar’s first visit to the village after his announcement to adopt it under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna. 

A festive atmosphere prevailed in the village as villagers, especially youngsters, were excited to see and meet the cricket icon. He will interact with farmers, children and youth in the village during his three-hour long visit. Police made elaborate security arrangements. Authorities barred people from other villages from entering Puttamrajuvari Kandriga.

Reports reveal free wi-fi zone has been set up in the famous Connaught Place area in New Delhi. The internet access would be available at a distance of more than 4.5 sq. km. keeping in mind the requirement of the students. Sources say government is doing this as a pilot project.

If this goes through successfully then it is going to be implemented across key public areas across different cities in India. Already, Bangalore Railway station has got wi-fi access so the day is not far when the wi-fi revolution is going to storm our nation in a very big way. This is what we call a true growing India.

Akin to that, there are reports coming from Mumbai that the noted filmmaker Prakash Jha is coming up with the second edition of his political thriller ‘Rajneeti’ and sources say it has got few scenes which would have a connect with Modi. Buzz is that the film will have the straight faced superstar Ajay Devgn in it. 

Incidentally, the first edition was more on the roots of the Mahabharata but this time it looks like Prakash wants to come up with something more contemporary. If the Modi aspect is true, it remains to be seen who is going to essay that role. Some say it could most likely be Paresh Rawal or Anupam Kher.

TDP Tirupati MLA, Venkata Ramana has suffered a massive heart attack on Saturday night. He is immediately shifted to SVIMS in Tirupati and is admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As per the reports his condition is said to be critical.Venkata Ramana jumped into TDP from the Congress just before the elections. Venkata Ramana was favored in place of the party leader Chadalavada Krishnamurty by Chandrababu. Earlier he was elected to AP Assembly in 2004. He did not get seat in 2009 elections. 

Bhumana Karunakar Reddy contested on the ticket of Congress Party. Chiranjeevi of the then PRP won the seat in 2009 elections.When Chiranjeevi resigned from the MLA seat after he merged PRP with Congress and was elected to Rajya Sabha, Venkata Ramana contested on the Congress ticket and was defeated by Karunakar Reddy. In 2014 elections Venkata Ramana trounced Karunakar Reddy by a margin of 41,531 votes. Venkata Ramana previously underwent two By-Pass surgeries.

In a significant change, construction giant L&T has finally bowed down to pressure of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. L&T has agreed to the changes in the routes of the Hyderabad Metro Rail along the three stretches as proposed by KCR. However, KCR has come forward to bear the additional financial burden for the realignment which is estimated around Rs 300 to 400 Crore. KCR, who met L&T chief A. Naik at the Secretariat on Saturday, had told him that Telangana has historical and cultural significance and people have emotional bonding with historical monuments, structures and said that the development should not affect the heritage of city.

He has sought to do realignment at Legislative Assembly, Sultan Bazaar and in Old city to guard religious places. KCR told Naik upfront that he would not allow any remodelling or damage to historical structures like T-martyrs memorial, Assembly. He instead asked him to shift the route from rear of the Assembly rather than in front of the Assembly. At the same time, he also sought to change the route at Koti Womens’ college in order to save Sultan Bazaar and suggested to take the route from the rear of Koti Womens’ college. 

Meanwhile, for the change of routes in Old City KCR reportedly told Naik that a separate meeting would be arranged which will also joined by MIM, who hold a sway in the area to resolve the contentious issues with regard the project. KCR told Naik that there are around 40 religious places that would be affected with the present alignment of Metro Rail project in Old City and wanted to adopt changes in the route considering MIM’s objections. The new routes will said to be finalized at a meeting to be held on Nov 20.

The happening ladies Ms Nita Ambani, actress Juhi Chawla and city’s socialite Pinky Reddy and others, who have met Chandrababu Naidu recently at his camp office, went a step ahead and took a selfie with Naidu. Naidu was all smiles, couldn’t so no and obliged for selfie with them. This is said to be Naidu’s first selfie.

After all, not many would get an opportunity to have a selfie with him. Although Naidu have a short conversation with Nita Ambani, it’s buzzed that Naidu has asked Ambanis to invest in the new state of Andhra Pradesh and provide employment to locale youths. Ms Ambani too said to have responded positively on this.
