In music to the ears of commuters, the Union government has slashed the prices of petrol and diesel. Petrol price has been cut by Rs 2.41 a litre while diesel by Rs 2.25 per litre with the sudden dip in international oil rates. The fresh rates will be effective from today’s midnight. This is the sixth reduction of petrol prices since Narendra Modi took over charge as Prime Minister of India.

The government had on October 18 freed diesel prices from its control, giving freedom to oil marketing companies to adjust rates in line with cost. Then, rates were cut by Rs 3.37 per litre, the first reduction in price of diesel in over five years. The previous decline dates back to January 2009. 

Simultaneously, the price of non-subsidised cooking gas (LPG) was cut by Rs 18.5 to Rs 865 per 14.2-kg cylinder. Since August, this is the fourth reduction in rate of non-subsidised LPG. Meanwhile, Gold rates were also declined by Rs 600 per 10 grams. With the strong US Dollar, Gold prices have hit four-year low and presently costing at Rs 26,500.

Advisor (Communications) to Andhra Pradesh government Parakala Prabhakar has lashed out at Telangana government, its officials. Taking on the T-government, Parakala asked whether “law and constitution” exist in the state? “Hyderabad city police Task Force personnel yesterday dragged the driver out of the government vehicle and hijacked Murali in the car and took him to the Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board office and harassed him. Not stopping at that, they also raided Murali’s house and harassed his family members. 

All this in the name of diversion of Board funds to AP account where, in fact, not a single paisa was transferred,” Parakala stated on Friday. “The atrocious behaviour of the so-called sleuths, who resembled rowdies, cannot be described. They did not care about the officer’s stature. Above all, how could they gherao AP’s higher official? What right does they have to touch an AP employee? All this only exposed the Telangana government’s disrespect for law and the Constitution,” Parakala lashed out. 

Referring to Additional Commissioner of Labour Mr Murali Sagar’s incident, Parakala made it clear that an additional of Rs 76 Crore belonging to AP were still in Telangana account. With Parakala giving a befitting counter, Telanagna government and its officials are said to be puzzled.

Finally breaking its silence, the Telangana Government on Friday ordered a probe into the suicides by farmers across the State. Speaking to media persons at the Secretariat Media Point here, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma has been asked to gather complete information on the suicides committed by farmers. 

The Chief Secretary, in turn, has directed the District Collectors to furnish information pertaining to suicide committed by farmers since the formation of Telangana on June 2 this year. The Collectors have been asked to furnish the information on immediate basis. Pocharam, however, defended the TRS Government on the issue. He claimed that as many as 3,190 farmers have committed suicide from 1998 to 2014 during the regimes of TDP and Congress. 

However, both the parties were trying to defame the TRS Government on the issue. He said erratic power supply was the major cause for crop failures which drove farmers to suicide. He blamed the previous TDP and Congress Governments for ignoring Telangana in power sector which deteriorated the conditions for farmers.

Is YSRCP a gang of thieves? Supporters of former CM Rajasekhar Reddy, Jagan Mohan Reddy and the party leaders may not believe this but TDP feels so. TDP leader Varla Ramaiah lashed out at the main opposition party in Andhra Pradesh saying they are gang of thieves. 

He said Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP senior leaders led by him are sharing each region of Andhra Pardesh to loot the state. He said Dharmana Prasada Rao, Mopidevi Venkataramana and others divided Northern Andhra, Central Andhra and Rayaalseema regions between themselves. 

He made fun of Ambati Rambabu saying he doesn’t have experience in robbing and so was not given any region. He blasted YSRCP leaders for making false allegations at the AP Govt of not fulfilling the electoral promises. He said Chandra Babu Naidu fulfilled many promises made even during janmabhoomi and asked the party to get their facts right before making any accusations.

Rajya Sabha MP, Cricket God Sachin Tendulkar is visiting Nellore on November 16th according to officials. G.Rekha Rani, Joint Collector of Nellore speaking to media in her chamber shared the details of Sachin Tedulkar’s Nellore Trip. She said Sachin will reach Chennai on Nov 15th at 5 PM from Mumbai and from there will come to Krishnapatnam Port in special helicopter. 

Sachin will stay overnight there and the next day reach Puttamraju Kandriga in Gudur on 9 AM. He will participate in various development programs and will return to Chennai by 12 Noon. Sachin Tendulkar adopted the village accepting PM Modi’s swachh bharat abhiyan challenge. He will be spending Rs. 3.50 crore for the adopted village under “Adarsh Gram Sansad Yochana”. 

Adarsh Gram village will get 24 hours drinking water, streetlights, roads, drainage, crematorium, cell phone towers, Wi-Fi zone, bank, health center, veterinary hospital built under the scheme.

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal has reportedly ordered immediate restoration of transmissions of the Telugu channel TV9 in Telangana region after the CS reportedly asked the state DGP to ensure that there is protection to the multi-system operators providing signals. 

In its order issued yesterday, the Tribunal reportedly mentioned that Telangana’s additional solicitor general Ramachandra Rao had given its list of steps taken from TS to offer full protection to the MSOs who can resume the broadcast of this channel. The MSOs meanwhile have submitted that if the state government could issue a public notice or a press release warning over any violence against any MSO’s for broadcasting the channel, then they can resume the broadcast as soon as possible. 

Now all eyes are on the Telangana CM KCR because the government has to give its official nod and cannot dilly dally on this matter any longer. So far, it is being alleged that the government played a key role in stopping the TV9 from broadcast.

Telugu Desam Party has rolled out a Free Accident Insurance Scheme to the active members of it along with the party membership. In case of sudden death of such member, Rs. 2 lakh will be given to the family members while Rs.50,000 will be given to those injured depending on the severity of injuries sustained. In the event of death, party will also take care of the education of two children in each family if the dead person is the head of the family.

The party had also tied up with 27 Corporate hospital to treat the cadre. The membership drive of the party will begin from November 3rd in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Orissa. The party which was only confined to Telugu States so far is extending to every state where there is a significant Telugu population as it harbours the hopes to become a national party. 1600 youngsters with tablets will be conducting the membership drive to enroll the targeted 18 Lakhs to 25 Lakhs new members.

This was announced by Nara Lokesh, TDP’s coordinator for cadre welfare and son of party supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu in his maiden press conference. It is already known that TDP has setup a Cadre Welfare Fund to take care of its party workers on the idea of Nara Lokesh in the last Mahanadu.

Telangana Government got temporary relief in the ongoing dispute regarding power generation using water from Srisailam dam. 

After an inconclusive meet yesterday with the chief secretaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, Krishna Water Board today permitted Telangana to use 3 TMCs of water from Srisailam for power generation till November 2. The board will then review its decision when it meets again on November 15th. It is coming out that while AP is happy with the board decision, Telangana is unhappy with the decision as the state is facing severe scarcity of power. 

Even yesterday Telangana officials made it clear that it will be detrimental to the farmers of the state. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments waged bitter battle over water usage and tensions flared up with Andhra Pradesh CM Chandra Babu Naidu writing letter to Krishna Water Board to direct Telagnana to stop usage of water from Srisailam dam as it affects the farmers of Rayalaseema.

However Telangana remained adamant saying it has full powers to use the waters for power generation and it cannot stop as it is facing acute power problem which is resulting in suicides of farmers. With Telangana and Andhra ministers entering fray making allegations and counter allegations, it snowballed into major controversy. Hope Krishna Water Board’s decision will solve the problem at least temporarily.

ESL.Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana turned serious on AP officer diverting Rs 609 crores of Telangana funds into Andhra Pradesh account. He immediately called Chief Secretary and DGP to get first hand information on the whole issue. He is currently holding consultations and will decide upon future course of action. 

Earlier today Chikkadapally police who started investigating after receiving complaint found that two officials, Murali Sagar, secretary, and Rama Rao, finance manager of the AP Building and Construction Welfare Board, had transferred the funds of the Telangana Labour department to the AP labour department. Police claimed that the two confessed that they were acting on the orders of AP chief secretary.
