Telugu Film industry has sent Akkineni family’s Manam and Minugurulu as official entries from Telugu to Film Federation Of India’s Screening Committee. The Committee will watch the entries of all the film industries in India and will decide up on one official entry to the Oscar committee. The committee members are expected to decide up on India’s entries for Best Foreign Language Film and forward the list to Oscar Headquarters.

The next Oscar awards is the 87th edition and will take place on February 22nd, 2015. Manam is the last film of Thespian Akkineni Nagaeswara Rao. The film has all the three generations of Akkineni family and it ended up as one of the classic films in Tollywood. The movie also amassed 38 Crore in its full run making it the biggest hit ever for Akkineni family. If Manam manages to impress the screening committee, it will become the first Telugu movie ever to be nominated to the Oscars from India in the Best Foreign Language film.

In fact, Tollywood is hardly interested in things pertaining to awards. Big film producers do not send in their entries for any awards. In fact, in 2012, ‘Eega’ had to be rushed in so that there will at least be one Telugu entry to be considered to be selection.  In the previous year, Mithunam, Sri Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya, Amma Niku Vandham and Chadhuvukovali were nominated from Telugu.

But India’s screen committee did not select any of the films. Film director N Shankar was in the Oscar selection committee of the Film Federation of India last year. The committee has selected “The Good Road” as India’s entry for the best foreign film category of the Oscars for 2014.

Renu Desai who was never so vocal has suddenly become a bird. She has been commenting and counter commenting on her Facebook page in the recent times. First it was a comment by her about fans’ abusive personal messages. Then it was a comment on Pawan’s persona.

Recently Renu Desai, who is busy with the promotions of her Marathi film Ishq Wala Love, has taken to social media to respond to those who accused her of taking support of her ex-husband Pawan Kalyan’s name to become famous. Claiming that she is a popular model and actress, Renu went on to say she produced a successful film ‘Mangalshtak Once More’ without the support of anyone.

Seems the reply from Renu hits back her with abusive comments A day after this episode, Renu Desai posted this message on her Facebook page, “I don’t think it is appropriate for people to send such messages claiming that they are fans of Pawan Kalyan. Pawan does not like this. I have decided to switch off my inbox from today.

One must realize that celebrities have a personal life too. It is not right to bother them like this. I can understand fans loving Pawan Kalyan, but that does not mean that they can hurt others in his life.” Hurting the Self-Respect of a woman is unpardonable and one should respect others privacy.

Lokanayakudu Kamal Haasan who is currently busy shooting for Drushyam remake Paapanasanam has been admitted in hospital. According to sources Kamal Hasan suffered from food poisoning and was admitted in Apollo Hospital, Chennai. 

Hospital sources said that he was treated for food poisoning symptoms and his condition is stable. He will be discharged either today or tomorrow. His office sharing information said he will join the shooting from Tomorrow. 

Earlier there were rumors that Kamal was detected with neurological disorder. However hospital sources rubbished all those reports. Hospital sources are tight lipped about Kamal’s situation.

Adhi blood loney vundali’, said Bandla Ganesh the other day at ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ audio launch, highlighting the ‘responsible’ attitude of Ram Charan. Not stopping there, Blockbuster ‘babu’ went on uttering many punch lines giving raise to many speculations.
 
Touted to be most funny and comedy speech of 2014, Ganesh amazed one and all with his one liners like-
 
“Baavilo padithey eedochu… Cheruvulo padithey vadduku ravochu.. kaani bore lo padinattlu vundi na paristiti”, he avers, about his feelings when Charan cancelled Koratala’s movie halfway.
 
“Teenmar flop ayithey Gabbar Singh ichadu baabai.. cinema stop ayithey 9 nelalu kaaleega vundi naakey cinema chesadu little boss”, he praised, attributing Charan as a Kohinoor Diamond.
 
“Stayitho stananamtho sambandam lekunda andarini okela choosey aayaney megastar”  “I don’t want any LIC Policy, I’ve ‘Mega’ Policy, and I’ve mega heroes insurance” “Nenu ee stayilo vundataniki karanam powerstar, aah powerstar ki bossey megastar”, Ganesh exaggerates.
 
These punch lines have given Goosebumps and unlimited fun, but also a doubt that who has scripted them? Is Ganesh really capable of writing such stunning, rhyming and flattering lines for his heroes? If so, we’ve to really appreciate his creative abilities; otherwise we have to pity that writer as Ganesh walked away with credits.

Teaser of much-awaited flick ‘I’ has been finally out! To describe it in one word, Its FANTASTIC and mind blowing. The teaser was not less than to any of Hollywood films and once again Shankar showed his trademark taking.

The teaser showcases protagonist Vikram in myriad roles such as a dreadful beast, an ugly physically challenged, muscular gymnastic and handsome guy as Remo. Vikram fits for all the roles and he enthralled with his makeovers. Amy Jackson appeared in the teaser and she was very hot any sexy.The teaser didn’t offer any clue about the film story.

You just keep the video on repeat mode to find out answers and surely the search gonna end only on October 22nd (release day). Kudos to Vikram, Shankar and the entire unit of ‘I’! The film, directed by Shankar, is touted to be a romantic thriller flick. The film has been in the making for more than two years.

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Aagadu is all set for a grand release this Friday. The movie has completed its Censor formalities on Monday and here is the report of the film from sources who actually watched the film. According to them, the first half of the film is good but the director faltered in the second half and it ended up as a not so great product.

It is also said that the second half of Aagadu has a close resemblance to Mahesh Babu’s previous film, Dookudu in which Hero goes on eliminating the villains one with the scenes embedded with high dose of comedy. One more disappointing information is that Srinu Vaitla failed to use Brahmanandam completely unlike his previous blockbusters and the comedy scenes did not work out well.

However they say Mahesh’s performance is top notch in the film. His comedy timing is ultimate in the film. Finally, they say Aagadu is certainly not up to the level of Dookudu but is expected to open extraordinarily due to various other reasons like hype of the film, star pulling factor and huge publicity campaign. Let us wait and see how audience will receive this high expected film.

Splashing freshness all over the screen, KV portrayed a perfect Telugu culture like picture on the canvas for which Ram Charan has delivered the best of his career. Let’s talk about the trailer.

Magical trailer of ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ opens with introducing everyone in the family of Abhiram played by Ram Charan, an NRI who hails from London. He comes to India and tries to fit in the family, wins their love, and then solves some issues  and lives up to the character of ‘Govindudu’ who enters Brindavanam. Charan’s terrific expressions, Krishna Vamsi’s wonderful conceiving, Kajal’s tempting glamour, Prakash Raj, Srikanth and Jayasudha’s radiant presence piled up more emotional connect towards the flick.

Also Sameer Reddy’s vibrant and stylish visuals added more punch to the trailer, while Yuvan Shankar Raja’s terrific background score is simply solid. Maybe this is Ninne Pelladutha and Murari revisited by Krishna Vamsi in Ram Charan’s mega style. 

Megastar and Maestro combination produced musical and commercial blockbusters that still Tollywood raves about a lot. From  ‘Kondaveeti Donga’ to ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’, there was no stopping for this deadly combo of Chiraneevi and Ilayaraja. And sensation is that sons of these two, Ram Charan and Yuvan Shankar Raja have now come together for the first time, to deliver a stunner.

‘History repeated today! My dad worked with Chiranjeevi sir to create history and today we sons are working together’, said Yuvan Shankar Raja, concluding, ‘I want my music to speak’. Unarguably he has brought that freshness to Telugu cinema songs at the moment by revisiting certain retro style and bringing out soulful melodies for ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’. Definitely Yuvan’s music is speaking volumes as GAV songs started catching like fire already with music lovers.

It’s common for Indian actors to express their desire to work with the likes of James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Woody Allen, Ang Lee but when a Hollywood stalwart expresses his wish to act under the direction of an Indian filmmaker, it’s bound to be great news. 

Making this real, the Terminator star publicly stated, “If Shankar gives a chance, I’m keen to act in his film. Truth be told, I didn’t come here as the chief guest for the audio launch of I, I came here to ask Shankar an opportunity to work with him. I have come all the way for a job interview with Shankar. If he agrees, I’d like to do be part of his next project.”

Arnold openly invited him for the making of “Conan the King”, a proposed sequential in the Conan series. “Why can’t we do a film like King Conan?,” Arnold asked Shankar. Smiling, Shankar nodded his head and gave him a thumbs-up amid thunderous applause. 

Ram Charan revealed an interesting tidbit about his forthcoming film Govindudu Andari Vadele. Giving us a peep into the film, Charan shared, ‘The movie opens with a dialogue which nullifies 100 emotional fights and 100 foot-tapping dance steps. It’s the highlight of the Govindudu Andari Vadele.’

Charan, however, refrains in mouthing the dialogue at the audio launch and said it’d not be ‘apt’ to say it and he added, ‘It’d have more affect when we see it on silver screen.’ Charan thanked director Krishna Vamsi for shaping up the film well. He also raved about the film’s theme, ‘The key objective of the film is the unity. The movie starts with the unity and ends with the same unity.’ Charan confirmed that the movie will be releasing on October 1 as scheduled before. 

Ram Charan seems to have taken aback from producer Bandla Ganesh’s enthusiasm to produce Chiranjeevi’s 150th film. Although Ganesh didn’t mean it directly, and expressed his wish to produce one film with his ‘Boss’ Chiranjeevi be it 150 or 200 or 250, Charan stepped into action in order to clear any untoward false hopes.

Setting the record straight, Charan reacted sarcastically, ‘What Ganesh do you want to take us the project from us? I’m only producing dad’s 150th film. In fact, I’m also producing it on behalf of my mother. She is producing the film originally. You may get a chance to produce any of his next film but not 150th film.’ This indeed, is to send signals to distributors that Charan himself is venturing into movie production. At the same time, it also says that Chiranjeevi is keen to continue his acting career after his 150th film. 

What looks like a biggest joke and biggest satire got delivered from none other Megastar Chiranjeevi’s dynamic mouth. As like all the time, some mega fans went berserk, uttering the word ‘Powerstar’ with more powerful voice at ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ audio launch.

Miffed by these repeated shouting, Chiru tried best to not lose his composure and when further rebuked he has come with something that stuns us. ‘Do you have any objection if Pawan Kalyan attends the 150th day function of Govindudu Andarivadele?’ quipped Chiru, advising the so called ‘powerstar’ fans to continue watching Ram Charan’s latest entertainer till 150th day.

Is this is a joke or satire? Running a movie for 150 days isn’t possible these days as all the big flicks are aiming for maximum collections in couple of weeks and then putting ‘hands up’ message. Probably Chiru is really dreaming about such a long run, but latest market trends don’t make it possible even though Govindudu Andarivadele is a blockbuster.

On the flip side, many doubt if Chiru is indirectly indicating that Powerstar will not be seen in upcoming mega functions. Because inviting Pawan for a ‘fictional’ 150th day is like promising ‘moon’ to children by showing it in mirror. Only time will reveal more.

For a big hero of ‘legendary’ stature is there anything that really scares him? Maybe his political journey is a nightmare but Megastar Chiranjeevi’s cinema career is still hailed by all, and his 150th flick is the most awaited project Tollywood’s folks are waiting for.

Well, Chiranjeevi’s scare is something that highlighted the directorial abilities and creative intelligence of director Krishna Vamsi. ‘I’ve never thought of working with Krishna Vamsi though he is very close to our family. His daredevil dedication in bringing the best out of an actor pretty much stunned me’, said Chiru, recalling that KV remains his all time best director. ‘I don’t want to give a test to my acting skills after achieving laurels for years, by committing a project with Krishna Vamsi. I’m scared’, Megastar said humbly. That proud smile is visible for a second on Krishna Vamsi’s face when his demi-god said those words.

‘Glad that Vamsi has brought the best out of Ram Charan by breaking his continuous mass-film journey at box office. This film is purely a Krishna Vamsi trademark with significant performances by Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Srikanth and Charan’, Chiru concluded. 

Well, finally the Hollywood action star Arnold Schwarzenegger has arrived to India. Although he was in Chennai for the the audio launch of director Shankar’s mega budget movie, I, Mr Schwarzenegger met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the Secretariat. 

The 67-year-old actor, also the former Governor of California and Ms. Jayalalithaa interacted for nearly half an hour. The details of the meeting are yet to be known. The Terminator star, clad in a grey blazer, did not talk to waiting reporters but struck a pose for the shutterbugs and videographers who had come in good numbers.

He also gave a friendly wrap around the shoulders of a policeman on his security duty, drawing instant cheers from the cops and others around. Eager state government staff also thronged to catch a glimpse of Mr Schwarzenegger. 

The music launch of Ram Charan-Kajal Aggarwal starrer Govindudu Andari Vadele (GAV) was fun-filled, energetic and grand. Below are the best highlights of the audio launch event held at Shilpa Kala Vedika on Monday (September 15, 2014)

1. Producer Bandla Ganesh speech is the one of the highlights where he heaped praises on Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan. Ganesh publicly expressed his strong desire to produce a film with Chiranjeevi. Ganesh also rained his praises on Ram Charan and his good-samaritan character. Through out the speech, Ganesh called Charan as “Little Boss”. Ganesh said that the story of Govindudu Andari Vadele is close to the story of Mega Family. Ganesh didn’t stop there. He compared Ram Charan as Kohinoor diamond and said producers like him would survive on the light generated with the help of diamond.
2. Chirnajeevi’s gracious presence along with his better-half Surekha is the moment that made Mega fans go berserk.
3. Ram Charan and Upasna Kamineni’s public appearance is also one of the highlights and Charan was flanked by Upasna throughout the do.
4. Sultry siren Kaajal Aggarwal revved up the glam quotient with her stunning red sari and stole many hearts at the do.
5. As usual, Pawan Kalyan’s absence at the audio launch was conspicuous and few Mega fans were spotted shouting slogans for Pawan Kalyan and interrupted the speeches of producer Dil Raju, Bandla Ganesh.
6. Mother-in-law Surekha and daughter-in-law Upasna jointly unveiled the theatrical trailer of the film and this is the moment of the day.
7. Young Mega heroes Varun Tej and Sai Dharam Tej made their presence on stage.
8. Srikanth, Kamilini Mukherjee too showed up at the event and Kamilini posed for pics along with Kaajal.
9. Director Krishna Vamsi also hogged some limelight and many are expecting that this would be his comeback film.
10. Last but not least, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja is the man of the moment. He looked cool, composed throughout the event. He rather wants his work to speak for himself. His tunes for GAV says that all.
