No National Award for ‘Barfi!’, Priyanka upset
Actress Priyanka Chopra, whose performance in ‘Barfi!’ was appreciated by the audience, is upset that the film did not get a single National award. The winners of the 60th National Film Awards were announced here Monday.
“I am feeling bad that ‘Barfi!’ did not win National Award. But then it is up to the jury why they did not give the award,” Priyanka told reporters here at the launch of her first item song ‘Babli badmaash’.
‘Barfi!’ was a love story between a deaf and mute boy, played by Ranbir Kapoor, and an autistic girl, played by Priyanka. Though the movie did not win a National Award, Priyanka is happy for her cousin Parineeti won a special mention for her performance in “Ishaqzaade”.
“I am happy for her. Now in the Chopra family, there are two National Awards. The whole day, I had to explain what special mention means,” said Priyanka.
Not ‘Pilla Kaaki’…NTR is ‘Pilla Puli’
No secrets, yesterday’s N-TV program of ‘Pilla Kaaki’ on junior ntr is a direct and scathing attack. One would really wonder on how can editors and channel management be lopsided in giving a nod for airing such biased programs without worried on reactions from public and Fans. However, the hardcore Fans of Nandamuri Family and particularly those admirers of Tarak’s performance as a Hero in films are angered by hidden promoters of the program. ‘If the episode is really aired buying the slot paying huge money by any of the TDP leaders, they should understand one point. Without junior ntr, there is no way TDP can go for next elections. He is the prime face to campaign for Naidu because one strong hit either with ‘Baadshah’ or Harish Shankar’s film can make this ‘Pilla Kaaki’ to become a ‘Pilla Puli.’ So, it is better for channels to stop airing such shows,’ one of the NTR Fans opined.
NTR donates 5 Lakhs to the victim’s family
It is known to our readers that a fan called Rajendra Prasad aka Raju lost his life at stampede that took place at Baadshah audio release function. NTR had delivered an emotional speech at the function and had promised to help the family of his deceased fan in all possible ways. Today he handed over a cheque of 5Lakh rupees to Raju’s mother Eswaramma a short while ago. As promised Bandla Ganesh had also handed over a cheque of 5 Lakh.
NTR had reassured that he is always there to help the family in all possible ways. And on the other side, the Police had registered a case on Baadshah producer, Bandla Ganesh for negligence which caused the death of a person. The case is currently being investigated.
Eega buzzes at National awards
Tollywood’s most successful director SS Rajamouli’s Eega last year had made it to the Top 10 All time Hit movies with out any star power. And now the movie had made it big at the National awards. The movie had bagged two National awards in the just now announced list. Eega is the only Telugu film in the list and it has bagged two awards – Best Regional film and Film with Best Special effects.

Hero Nikhil and Colours Swathi starer Swamy ra ra had completed its censor formalities a short while ago and received U/A certificate with a lyric cut. The movie is now all set to release on March 23rd. Our sources tells us that the movie had turned out well. The movie story revolves around a stolen Ganesh idol. The audio of the movie was released recently and became a decent hit. Nikhil who did not register proper hit after his debut movie, Happy Days had pinned high hopes on this one.
