Story

Buchibabu (Sunil) returns to India from USA after a long gap of 6years due to the pressure of his family for marriage proposal. Buchi Babu instantly falls in love with Anjali (Isha Chawla) in his first pelli choopulu but the latter has some other plans and has a boy friend as well. She shows her wild side to Buchi Babu with which he drops of the marriage proposal and decides to go ahead to see other bridegrooms. However, Buchibabu couldn’t forget Anjali and meanwhile, the duo again meets at their friend’s wedding and what happens between them forms the rest of the story

Performances

Sunil’s look and appearance in the film are bad at more instances and the makers should have taken care on his makeup which looked odd. Either the hairstyle or his makeup didn’t suit him. His dances are good at places while it looked routine and odd at few instances.

Isha Chawla is beautiful and she has done a good job. She has a good screen time and the story revolves around her role.

Ali and Ravi Babu bring some laughs while Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, MS Narayana and Ahuthi Prasad suited their roles well.

Technical Analysis

Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is good while S.A. Rajkumar’s musical scores don’t impress you. The background score is yet another minus for the film. Nandamuri Hari’s editing could have been better and dialogues are good in parts. Devi Prasad’s direction is not upto the mark while the screenplay is not gripping. Production values are mediocre.

Analysis

It is known that Mr.Pellikoduku is the official remake of Tanu weds Manu and the remake sticks to the original story but fails in execution. Firstly, the Hindi version turned out good hit for the lead characters performances and the film’s dialogues. But Mr.Pellikoduku couldn’t match up to Hindi version in both the aspects.

The plot is interesting while the scenes in the first half strike the chord. The first half has good number of comedy scenes but the second half moves at slow pace and the emotional scenes lacks intensity and depth. On the other hand, neither of the songs nor the picturizations are impressive and too many songs test one’s patience. Despite the unique and good storyline, the film looked outdated due to the poorly penned script and music. The climax fight and the scenes with Sunil going shirtless looked forced and unrealistic.

Final Verdict

Mr.Pellikodu is a routine remake with outdated content…

Manchu Manoj is busy with his five new projects. Manoj told that he is not doing Sai Ratna creations movie.Which he signed for five projects are to be done in 2013. He said that he will try his best to finish them up by this December.last year Monoj had only two Telugu films releases. Manoj had heavy expectations on the ‘oo..kodatara…. ulikkipadatara’ film but he got disappointed a lot with this film.

After the success of ‘Dhenikaina Ready’ Manchu Vishnu agreed to act in Veeru Pltla’s film . It is to be noted that Veeru Potla had directed Manchu Monoj in ‘Bindaas’ which is a hit. In this year Manoj and Vishnu expectations have gone up.

The director of this film Sajid Khan felt Tamannah needed to look more voluptuous. In past few years it has been noticed that she has upped her oomph factor and sex appeal in a large way. In films like ‘Badrinath ‘ and ‘”Racha” Tamanna oozed her oomph .

So she is now taking more care and some extra padding was done so that she has curves at the right place and doesn’t look too skinny. After seeing Sridevi in the film ‘English Vinglish’ in original getup ,it is natural for public to expect from Tamannah to look some what healthy .

Mahesh’s Birthday treat to fans !

Mahesh Babu’s fans will have in special treat on the star’s birthday, if everything goes according to the plan. The producers of Mahesh Babu’s current film are planning to release the movie on his birthday, which falls on 9th August. The yet to be titled film’s production is progressing briskly. Mahesh Babu is reportedly plays a college lecturer role in the film.

Mahesh Babu’s son Gautam Krishna is reportedly making his filmy debut as child artist in the movie. A new comer Kriti Sanon is pairing up with Mahesh in this movie. Anil Sunkara, Gopichand and Ram Achanta are producing the film under 14 Reels Entertainments banner. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Rathnavelu is cranking the camera.

Film industry gets relief from Service Tax

The Union Finance Minister P.Chidambaram had announced that the entire film industry will be exempted from paying the 12.36% Service tax to the government.The entire entertainment and amusement services industry has been placed in the negative list of sectors which are not required to pay the tax. Finance Minister also specifically stated that service tax would not be charged on film copyrights.

Exemption from the Service tax is one of the long standing demands of Film industry. Film industries across the country have protested several times on this issue and finally all their efforts paid off. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce had thanked the government for this movie and saving the already burdened producers.

Sunil celebrates birthday among blind students

Comedian turned hero Sunil had celebrated his birthday today at Devnar School for the blind at Begumpet, Hyderabad with visually impaired students. He has also donated a cheque for Rs 2 lakhs to Devnar Foundation.

Sunil’s Mr.Pellikoduku is all set to release worldwide tomorrow. He will very soon begin the shooting of a new movie under the direction of Uday Shankar for Suresh Productions. This film was stalled for a couple of months ago and is back on track now. There is also a news that he had okayed a movie by a new comer, Vikram Siri who earlier worked under VV Vinayak.

Nagarjuna as Event Manager !

Nagarjuna is all set to play an event manager in his upcoming movie, Greekuveerudu. The movie revolves around an NRI who comes to India for the first time. The entire shooting part of the movie is wrapped up and the audio release of the movie will take place some time in March. The movie will hit the marquee on April 19th.

Nayantara is pairing up with Nagarjuna in this movie. Second time after Boss. Dasarath is directing Greeku Veerudu and D Sivaprasad Reddy is producing the film on Kamakshi Kala Movies banner. Thaman is composing the music.
