KCR’s Prolonged Absence Raises Questions Over BRS Strategy

Share

It increasingly appears that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) may be losing interest in active electoral politics. It has been quite some time since KCR was seen participating in sustained public campaigning or electoral outreach.

In December, KCR addressed a party meeting at Telangana Bhavan, where he announced that he would return to active public engagement and lead protests over key Telangana irrigation projects, including the Palamuru–Rangareddy scheme. Addressing a press conference, the BRS leader asserted that people would soon witness an active KCR once again and even stated that he would “skin” the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government.

Following these remarks, BRS leaders announced that KCR would address a series of public meetings across districts such as Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, and Rangareddy. However, contrary to expectations, KCR has largely retreated from the public eye, spending most of his time at his Erravelli farmhouse. Apart from his appearance for an SIT interrogation last week, he has not been seen in public.

Since the Congress government headed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assumed power, the BRS has raised several issues ranging from the Vikarabad radar project to coal block allocations. Yet, KCR has been conspicuously absent from these campaigns. Instead, the party’s public face has largely been carried by his son, K. T. Rama Rao, and nephew, T. Harish Rao.

The party has also failed to sustain consistent mass movements on any single major issue. KCR’s appearances have been limited to brief visits to the Assembly and select formal occasions. Meanwhile, opposition voices continue to question why the BRS chief has not actively appealed to voters or campaigned for party candidates, despite being a former Chief Minister who once nurtured national political ambitions.

Political observers note that sustained public engagement is crucial for any leader seeking long-term relevance, and prolonged absence from grassroots politics could weaken claims of mass leadership.

Anudeep’s FUNKY Trailer Delivers Quirky, Dialogue-Driven Laughs

Share

The newly released trailer of FUNKY, directed by Anudeep, leans heavily into quirky humor and clever wordplay, delivering several laugh-out-loud moments right from the start.

One early scene sets the tone when a doctor informs a man that his mother requires surgery, only for the son to reply, “Naaku raadu sir,” turning a serious moment into instant comedy. In another amusing exchange, the heroine asks whether the hero secured a first class in his 10th standard exams, to which he casually responds, “Kaadu… 10th claase.” The absurd humor continues with a woman demanding to see “Rs 5000 sarees for 2000 rupees,” adding to the trailer’s playful chaos.

These punchlines form the backbone of the trailer, creating light, situational comedy driven more by timing and dialogue than elaborate setups.

Vishwak Sen and Kayadu Lohar headline the film, with their on-screen pairing neatly woven into the narrative. Their interactions help propel the story, while the supporting cast adds extra layers of humor.

Produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios, FUNKY is slated for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026—perfectly timed for the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Arjun makes his return to direction with the upcoming film Seetha Payanam, produced under his home banner Shree Raam Films International. The film marks the debut of his daughter, Aishwarya Arjun, as the female lead, alongside newcomer Niranjan in the male lead role.

With the release date fast approaching, the makers unveiled the theatrical trailer today, offering a glimpse into an intriguing and layered narrative. The story follows a young chef who sets out on a long drive and reluctantly agrees to give a lift to a stranger—on one unusual condition: every call he receives must be on loudspeaker. What begins as a simple journey soon unfolds into a gripping tale filled with unexpected twists.

Aishwarya Arjun fits effortlessly into the role of Seetha, delivering a composed and convincing performance, while Niranjan holds his own with a confident screen presence. Veteran actors Sathyaraj and Prakash Raj add emotional depth to the narrative, and Dhruva Sarja’s cameo injects a surge of high-octane energy.

Arjun himself appears in a special, action-packed role, shaping Seetha Payanam as a balanced blend of romance, family drama, emotion, and action.

Backed by G. Balamurugan’s vibrant cinematography, Anup Rubens’ soothing musical score, and Sai Madhav Burra’s sharp dialogues, the trailer leaves a strong and lasting impression.

Seetha Payanam is all set for an engaging Valentine’s Day release on February 14.

SS Rajamouli Plans an Anime Version of RRR

Share

India’s most celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli, known for mastering multiple genres throughout his career, appears to have developed a strong fascination for animation in recent times. After watching global animation blockbusters such as Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, and Arcane, the visionary director seems eager to explore the medium himself.

While promoting his upcoming film Varanasi to Hollywood media, Rajamouli made an intriguing revelation about his 2022 global sensation RRR. The director disclosed that the film could return in the form of an anime adaptation in the future. He revealed that his team is currently in discussions with a few Japanese studios to bring RRR to life as an anime series.

Expressing confidence in turning the idea into reality, Rajamouli said he was completely blown away by the storytelling potential of animation after being introduced to the genre only recently. According to him, anime opened new creative avenues and helped him understand how stories can be narrated in a more aggressive, impactful, and visually striking manner.

RRR narrates the fictional tale of two fearless Indian revolutionary leaders from the pre-independence era, portrayed by NTR and Ram Charan. The film emerged as a massive global hit, earning acclaim far beyond Indian shores and creating a cultural phenomenon worldwide.

It is already known that Rajamouli’s epic mythology Baahubali, one of the highest-grossing Indian film franchises, is also expanding into animation. The two-part CG-animated spin-off film, titled Baahubali: The Eternal Ear and directed by Ishan Shukla, is slated for release in 2027.

The possibility of RRR transforming into an anime through a collaboration with Japanese studios highlights Rajamouli’s larger global vision. It wouldn’t be surprising if the filmmaker himself eventually steps into the animation space as a director. For now, Rajamouli remains focused on mythological storytelling, with Varanasi—loosely inspired by the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana—scheduled for release on April 7, 2027.

Raghav Juyal Bags a Key Role in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana

Share

Raghav Juyal, who is all set to make his Telugu debut with Nani’s The Paradise, is clearly on a fast upward curve in Indian cinema. The actor has now landed a crucial role in a massive upcoming Hindi project.

According to Bollywood reports, Raghav has been signed to play the role of Indrajit (also known as Meghanad), the powerful warrior, in Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana, which is being directed by Nitish Tiwari. Initially, this role was supposed to be played by National Award-winning actor Vikrant Massey. However, after Vikrant reportedly stepped away from the project, the makers finalized Raghav for the part. An official announcement is expected soon.

Raghav’s rise in Hindi cinema has been swift and impressive. There is also strong buzz that he will be seen as one of the main antagonists in Shah Rukh Khan’s King, directed by Siddharth Anand. Much of this momentum can be credited to his intense performance in the action drama Kill, which brought him widespread recognition, followed by Bads of Bollywood.

Interestingly, Raghav began his career as a dancer on Dance India Dance, gaining popularity for his unique slow-motion dance style. Few could have predicted that he would transition into one of the most exciting actors in Indian cinema today.

Rashmika Mandanna Turns Antagonist in Allu Arjun–Atlee Film

Share

After delivering back-to-back blockbusters like Thammudu and Pushpa 2, National Crush Rashmika Mandanna has firmly established herself across major film industries. Alongside commercial success, she also earned critical acclaim for her performance-driven roles, notably in The Girlfriend. Now, at the peak of her popularity, Rashmika appears ready to surprise audiences by stepping into completely uncharted territory — a negative role.

According to strong industry buzz, Rashmika Mandanna will be seen playing a full-fledged antagonist in superstar Allu Arjun and director Atlee’s highly anticipated pan-Indian project. Bollywood heavyweights Deepika Padukone and Janhvi Kapoor are already part of the film, and Rashmika’s inclusion adds another exciting dimension to the ensemble cast.

What makes this development even more intriguing is that Rashmika will reportedly lock horns with Allu Arjun in several intense face-off sequences. This marks the first time in her career that she will portray a pure negative character. Given the massive popularity of their romantic pairing in the Pushpa franchise — with chartbusters like “Peelings” and “Naa Saami” — fans are curious to see how audiences will react to seeing the duo on opposite sides of the conflict.

Reports suggest that nearly 60 percent of the film’s shoot has already been completed. However, a significant portion of high-end CGI work is pending and will be executed at Los Angeles–based VFX studios, indicating the film’s grand scale and global ambitions.

With Rashmika embracing a bold new avatar and Atlee known for presenting powerful female characters, expectations are sky-high. It remains to be seen how audiences will receive Rashmika’s antagonist role, but one thing is certain — this casting choice has already taken the excitement surrounding the project to the next level.

Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise is reportedly postponed, while Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagath Singh is set to release on March 26, 2027. However, neither Nani nor the team has officially confirmed the delay, creating uncertainty among fans. Many feel that Nani and director Odela should address the postponement and share a clear timeline for the release.

Reports suggest that a portion of the shoot is still pending, alongside VFX work, which requires additional time to complete. With Nani riding a wave of back-to-back hits, announcing an update would help manage expectations and keep audience anticipation high.

Fans are also looking forward to at least one song from composer Anirudh, who is set to host a live concert in Hyderabad next month. His electrifying BGM in the first glimpse of the film has already made a strong impact, keeping the buzz alive.
