Reddit to Label Bots as AI Activity Grows

Share

Reddit Inc. is set to roll out bot identification and labelling on its platform, aiming to curb automated accounts as artificial intelligence increasingly shapes online conversations and affects user trust.

CEO Steve Huffman announced that the company will soon verify and tag bots, building on the recent launch of verified profiles for public figures, brands, and trusted partners. “In the age of AI, if you can’t easily distinguish a real person’s thoughts or recommendations from a bot, that trust erodes,” Huffman wrote in Reddit’s shareholder letter. “That’s why we’re actively working on ways to preserve our authenticity and conversation quality.”

Huffman added that Reddit will move quickly on bot verification and labelling, with updates expected in the coming weeks. The initiative reflects a broader push across social media platforms to tackle automated accounts, which increasingly influence discussions and degrade user experience. Recently, OpenAI announced plans for a biometric-based social network to reduce spam, while Elon Musk’s X has removed roughly 1.7 million bot accounts, though automated activity remains a challenge.

Beyond bot labelling, Reddit is focusing on growth and engagement. Huffman said the company plans to improve retention among new and casual users through enhanced onboarding, integrate its AI-powered search with Reddit Answers, and use AI and machine learning to personalise user feeds for more relevant content.

Anthropic Unveils Claude Opus 4.6, Its Most Advanced AI for Coding

Share

AI startup Anthropic is making waves in the tech industry with a series of launches, including Cowork, AI agents, and now its latest model, Claude Opus 4.6. Just two months after releasing Opus 4.5, the company has rolled out Opus 4.6, which it positions as its most advanced model for coding to date.

Claude Opus 4.6 reportedly outperforms its predecessor in coding abilities, handling longer, multi-step tasks with improved debugging and reduced errors. The model features a beta 1-million-token context window for greater reliability. Beyond coding, Opus 4.6 can perform everyday tasks such as analysing financial reports, conducting research, and generating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. It is integrated with Cowork, enabling multitasking across workflows.

The model is designed to work better in teams and manage complex, long-term tasks. With Claude Code, users can deploy multiple Claude agents for specialized tasks like coding, reviewing, and testing. New capabilities include adaptive thinking, PowerPoint integration, and intelligent summarisation of completed work.

Early benchmark tests show Claude Opus 4.6 outperforming other frontier AI models. In agentic coding evaluation (Terminal-Bench 2.0), multidisciplinary reasoning, and knowledge work across finance and legal domains, Opus 4.6 scores higher than OpenAI’s GPT-5.2, Gemini 3 Pro, and Sonnet 4.5. In tests addressing “context rot”—performance decline over long conversations—Opus 4.6 also excels. On the MRCR v2 1M-token benchmark, it scored 76%, compared to Sonnet 4.5’s 18.5%.

Claude Opus 4.6 is available on claude.ai, via API, and across all major cloud platforms. Developers can access it through claude-opus-4-6 on the Claude API. Subscription pricing remains unchanged, starting at $5.

Schengen Visa Applications Go Digital from 2026

Share

From 2026, Schengen visa applications will move to a largely digital system, marking one of the most significant changes to the process in years. Travellers will submit applications online through a centralised platform, which is expected to speed up processing timelines, though most applicants will still need to visit VFS Global centres for biometric enrolment. Applicants must submit their visa requests at least 15 days before travel, with the option to apply up to six months in advance. Authorities recommend applying earlier, especially during peak travel seasons, due to sustained demand.

Despite the digital shift, core eligibility requirements remain unchanged. Applicants must hold a passport issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least three months beyond their planned stay. Mandatory documents include a completed visa application form, travel insurance covering at least €30,000, proof of financial means, accommodation details, confirmed or reserved return tickets, recent bank statements, and a cover letter explaining the purpose of travel. Biometric data, including fingerprints and a photograph, must also be submitted unless already provided within the past 59 months.

Applicants should submit their applications at the embassy or consulate of the Schengen country where they plan to spend the most time, or, if travel days are evenly split, at the country of first entry. The process begins with completing the online application and uploading supporting documents, followed by a visit to a visa application centre for biometric collection and submission of original papers. The standard visa fee is €90 (approximately Rs 9,600) for adults and €45 (approximately Rs 4,800) for children aged 6 to 12. Applicants can track their visa status online, and processing generally takes at least 15 days, though this may vary depending on demand and individual profiles.

Schengen visas are issued under different categories depending on the purpose and duration of travel. Type A Airport Transit Visas apply to travellers passing through a Schengen airport without entering the country. Type C short-stay visas, the most common, allow stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, family visits, or short-term study. Type D long-stay visas are for stays exceeding 90 days, usually for work, education, or residence. In exceptional cases, authorities may issue a Limited Territorial Validity (LTV) visa, restricting travel to specific Schengen countries, typically for humanitarian reasons or when travel documents are not recognised by all member states.

Most non-EU citizens require a Schengen short-stay visa, though certain categories such as diplomats, military personnel, refugees, and organised student groups may be exempt. Some travellers may also need an airport transit visa, even if they do not leave the airport, depending on nationality. Authorities advise applicants to apply 30 to 45 days in advance to avoid delays. Inaccurate documentation, missing papers, or inconsistent travel plans remain the most common reasons for rejection. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial means, typically around €120 per day for the duration of the stay, and provide evidence of intent to return to their home country after travel.

The 2026 digital shift aims to streamline Schengen visa applications while maintaining thorough verification measures, ensuring a faster and more efficient process for travellers across Europe.

Vietnam Tightens TRC Rules for Foreign Nationals

Share

Vietnam has updated its rules for issuing Temporary Residence Cards (TRCs), limiting eligibility to specific visa categories and introducing an additional procedural step for many foreign nationals, according to Fragomen. The changes are effective immediately and are expected to extend processing timelines by around two weeks for affected applicants.

Under the revised regulations, TRCs will now be issued only to foreign nationals holding LD2 work visas and TT dependent visas. Those who entered Vietnam on other visa types, such as DN1, VR, or e-visas issued before work permit approval, must first complete a mandatory visa conversion before applying for a TRC. Previously, these applicants could apply directly for a TRC or a long-term visa without this step.

The added visa conversion requirement is likely to lengthen TRC processing times, potentially affecting onboarding schedules for employers and long-term plans for foreign employees and their families. Fragomen advised impacted applicants to consider postponing visa applications until after receiving their work permit to streamline the process under the new rules.

These revisions affect both foreign nationals and their dependents seeking long-term residence. While the guidance is advisory, applicants are encouraged to seek case-specific advice as local authorities begin implementing the changes.

Vietnam has been gradually tightening its immigration framework to better manage foreign workforce inflows, and the latest update reflects a more structured approach to residence approvals and long-term stay permissions.

Aniesh’s Lead Debut in Itlu Arjuna

Share

Rising actor Aniesh is all set to make his mark as a lead with the upcoming film Itlu Arjuna. Directed by Mahesh Uppala and produced by Venky Kudumula, the film has already created a buzz with its posters and title glimpse. Coinciding with Aniesh’s birthday today, the makers unveiled a brand-new poster along with a special video titled Finding Arjuna Vol 1.

The video goes beyond a typical character reveal. It offers a compelling look at Aniesh’s dedication and transformation for the role. Playing Arjun, a mute protagonist who must convey emotions solely through his eyes, gestures, and subtle expressions, is no small feat. The footage highlights how Aniesh approached the challenge with clarity, confidence, and a strong commitment to push his limits.

It also gives a glimpse of the audition that impressed the team and showcases how Aniesh immersed himself in the character. From absorbing detailed narrations to perfecting emotional beats and refining expressions, he embodied Arjun well before the cameras rolled.

In the new poster, Aniesh sports a stylish rust-orange jacket over a grey T-shirt, accessorized with a simple necklace, radiating a cool urban-hero vibe. He is captured mid-juggle, wearing a focused look accented with a subtle smile, perfectly reflecting his character’s charm.

Itlu Arjuna is slated for a summer release, and expectations are high for Aniesh’s debut performance.

Tharun Bhascker’s Next Film Titled Gaayapadda Simham, Trailer on Feb 9

Share

Director Tharun Bhascker has unveiled his next cinematic venture, a collaboration with director Kasyap Sreenivas, which is now in its final stages of production, with only one song left to be shot.

The film is being presented by Pavan Sadineni, who is currently directing Dulquer Salmaan in Aakasamlo Oka Tara, and produced jointly by Saptaswa Media Works, POV Stories, and Zee Studios.

Today, the makers officially announced the film’s title as Gaayapadda Simham with a poster that instantly grabs attention. Featuring red-and-white American-style graphics, the poster showcases a racing aircraft, star motifs, and stripe patterns reminiscent of the US flag. The stamp-like finish hints at a story laced with adventure and irreverence.

Adding to the quirky charm are a sharply drawn revolver, a caricature reminiscent of Donald Trump, and a retro compass box—all elements that suggest a mix of political satire, crime, and humor. The film’s cheeky tagline, “Don’t Laugh! It’s a Serious Matter!”, and the trailer dropping on February 9, make the setup intriguing.

Faria Abdullah and Maanasa Choudhary play the female leads, with Vidya Sagar Chinta handling cinematography and Sweekar Agasthi composing the music.

With its engaging concept and vibrant visuals, Gaayapadda Simham promises to explore the complexities of the American dream through the journey of its protagonist, blending adventure, satire, and comedy.

Kavitha Calls BRS ‘Anti-BC’ Over Municipal Ticket Row

Share

Stepping up her attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by her father K Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday termed the party “anti–backward classes,” accusing it of betraying the BC community by fielding a candidate who had opposed the 42 per cent BC reservation.

Addressing the media, Kavitha objected to the BRS decision to field Buttangari Madhav Reddy in the municipal elections, pointing out that he had earlier filed a petition opposing the proposed 42 per cent reservations for BCs in education, employment, and political representation.

She said BC organisations, including Telangana Jagruti, had waged sustained protests demanding enhanced reservations, which eventually compelled the government to introduce a Bill proposing 42 per cent BC quota. However, she alleged that the legal challenge filed by Madhav Reddy and another petitioner resulted in the court staying the quota.

“Despite opposing BC reservations and attempting to stall them through the courts, the same individual has now been rewarded with a BRS ticket. What message does this send?” Kavitha asked.

Raising serious questions about the party’s intent, Kavitha wondered whether the BRS itself was behind the petition filed against the BC quota. “Does this mean the BRS orchestrated the case? Is the party fundamentally opposed to BC reservations?” she questioned.

She further alleged that Madhav Reddy was close to senior BRS leader T Harish Rao and claimed that the petition was filed through Harish Rao’s personal lawyer. Kavitha questioned the rationale behind fielding a candidate who, according to her, attempted to block opportunities for BCs, who constitute nearly 56 per cent of Telangana’s population.

“How can a party that claims to stand for social justice give a ticket to someone who tried to deprive BCs of their rightful share?” she asked.

Kavitha also accused the BRS of lacking transparency and sincerity on BC-related issues, alleging that the party avoided internal discussions and instead conducted selective meetings under the banner of BC public representatives’ forums. She further criticised the party for creating confusion over the caste census issue before later demanding a fresh enumeration.

Urging BC communities across Telangana to closely observe the BRS’s actions, Kavitha said its decisions contradicted its public claims.

She also revealed that Madhav Reddy was earlier associated with Telangana Jagruti until 2010 before parting ways to pursue community-based activism and later joining the BRS. She alleged that he was misled into filing the case against BC reservations.

Demanding accountability, Kavitha called on the BRS leadership to explain its decision to grant a ticket to Madhav Reddy.

Vemulawada Temple Superstition Resurfaces as Revanth Reddy Dismisses Fears

Share

The famed Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple at Vemulawada in Rajanna Sircilla district, popularly known as “Dakshina Kashi,” has once again entered the political spotlight in Telangana amid long-standing superstitions linking visits by political leaders to the loss of office.

Vemulawada is among the most prominent Shaivite pilgrimage centres in the state and is also regarded as a Harihara kshetram, owing to the presence of both Shiva and Vishnu temples. Because of its deep religious significance, the shrine attracts thousands of devotees every year. However, a persistent belief continues to circulate in political circles that leaders who visit the temple may soon lose their positions.

This superstition is often traced back to instances involving former chief ministers of undivided Andhra Pradesh, including T Anjaiah, Bhavanam Venkataram, and Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy, who reportedly lost office or faced electoral defeat after visiting the shrine.

The issue resurfaced during Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s campaign tour for the municipal elections. While addressing a public meeting in the Choppadandi constituency of Karimnagar district on Thursday, Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas invited the chief minister to visit the temple. However, some of Revanth Reddy’s close associates cautioned him against the visit, citing the long-held belief associated with the shrine.

Dismissing the superstition, Revanth Reddy asserted that such fears were baseless. “If visiting a temple means losing office, why should that happen? I will definitely visit the temple and prove that this campaign is completely unfounded,” he said.

The chief minister also accused former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao of failing to fulfil a promise to allocate ₹150 crore for the development of the temple. Revanth Reddy stated that the Congress government sanctioned ₹150 crore soon after coming to power, and that renovation and redevelopment works are currently progressing at a brisk pace.

While the superstition continues to linger in political discussions, the chief minister’s remarks reflect a clear intent to challenge the long-standing belief and reaffirm his government’s commitment to the development of the historic temple.

Euphoria Review: Strong Message, Weak Execution

Share

Director Gunasekhar’s filmography over the past two decades has been largely disappointing, with Rudhramadevi standing out as the lone respectable success. Yet, faith in him persists among a section of the audience, rooted in the credibility he earned early in his career with films like Sogasu Chooda Tarama, Choodalani Vundi, and the iconic Okkadu.

Following the heavy losses incurred by Shaakuntalam (2023), Gunasekhar returned with Euphoria, a social drama aiming to address moral accountability and parental responsibility. Headlined by Sara Arjun and supported by Bhoomika Chawla in a crucial role, the film finally hit theatres after an extended production period. Does it deliver the comeback the director desperately needs? Unfortunately, the answer is no.

Story

Euphoria centres on a disturbing incident involving five privileged 17-year-old boys who physically assault a girl of the same age. The narrative attempts to explore the consequences of the crime—both legal and emotional—while also examining the ripple effects on the victim’s family and the moral turmoil faced by one of the perpetrators’ mothers (Bhoomika Chawla).

The film raises questions about justice, rehabilitation, and accountability:
Will the girl overcome her trauma?
Do the boys deserve lifelong punishment or a chance at redemption?

While the premise is strong and socially relevant, its execution fails to match its ambition.

Performances

Sara Arjun fits the role well and delivers a passable performance, though her character is underwritten. Vignesh Gavireddy does reasonably well, particularly during the climax, which stands out as the film’s only emotionally effective stretch.

Disappointingly, seasoned actors such as Bhoomika Chawla, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Nassar appear disengaged. Weak performances, compounded by glaring lip-sync issues—even among Telugu-speaking actors—seriously hamper the film’s credibility.

Technical Aspects

  • Music & Background Score: Kaala Bhairava’s EDM- and trance-influenced background score feels out of place and fails to enhance the emotional weight of the narrative. The songs leave no impression.
  • Cinematography: Praveen K Porhan’s work is among the few positives. His night-time visuals of Hyderabad and select frames in the second half are visually appealing.
  • Editing: Prawin Pudi’s editing is a major flaw. The film desperately needed tighter pacing; trimming at least 15–20 minutes could have significantly improved the viewing experience.

Positives

  • Partially effective climax
  • Visually pleasing cinematography in parts

Negatives

  • Outdated and clichéd writing
  • Ineffective direction
  • Poor performances
  • TV-serial-like treatment
  • Excessive runtime and sluggish pacing

Analysis

At its core, Euphoria argues that moral responsibility should accompany legal accountability, and that parents must share blame when their children commit serious crimes due to poor upbringing. This is a valid and thought-provoking idea.

However, Gunasekhar fails to translate this concept into compelling cinema. For a film that runs over two and a half hours, the absence of even a single gripping sequence until the final moments is startling. The first half feels like an extended television serial, while the second half drags endlessly with unnecessary detours and repetitive scenes.

The film also sidesteps important logical and legal considerations—such as minors entering pubs and parental responsibility on both sides—resulting in a simplistic and one-sided narrative that weakens its impact.

Final Verdict

Despite its relevant theme and good intentions, Euphoria collapses under the weight of poor writing, outdated narration, and ineffective direction. Except for a mildly engaging climax, the film offers little to hold the audience’s attention.

Final Verdict: Misfired Social Commentary

In February 2021, on the sets of the Telugu film Maha Samudram, actor Siddharth walked up to Aditi Rao Hydari with a warm smile and a simple greeting: “Hello, beautiful girl.” What could have been just another casual introduction instantly turned into something special. Recalling the moment in a Vogue interview, Aditi said the actor’s genuine charm won her over immediately. “By the end of the day, he had me—and pretty much everyone on the set—in splits,” she fondly remembered.

The connection between the two was swift and unmistakable. Speaking about their bond, Aditi shared, “I haven’t been in too many relationships because when I see someone, I instantly know if this is my person. We would have been in love even if we had met in our teens.” Their words reflected a deep sense of certainty and emotional alignment.

The Bommarillu star and his fiancée made their engagement official on March 28, 2024, before tying the knot on September 15, 2024. The couple chose an intimate, traditional ceremony held at a 400-year-old family temple, keeping the celebration deeply personal and rooted in tradition. Their wedding announcement beautifully captured the sentiment of the moment: “You are my Sun, my Moon, and all my Stars… To being Pixie Soulmates for eternity…”

Reflecting on finding love later in life, Siddharth expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “To find my fully formed self being loved by her… it was very reassuring that it was possible to find love like this.” Their journey stands as a testament to timing, emotional maturity, and the quiet magic of meaningful connection.

Vishwak Sen Gets Candid on Funky, Struggles and Changing Cinema Trends

Actors Vishwak Sen and Kayadu Lohar recently had a candid and engaging interaction with manatelugu, where they spoke at length about their upcoming film Funky, evolving audience preferences, and the realities of surviving in today’s film industry.

Vishwak Sen pointed out that many of his so-called experimental films have actually turned out to be commercially successful. Speaking proudly about Gaami, he said the film gave him immense creative satisfaction while also performing well at the box office.

Sharing his thoughts on changing cinema trends, Vishwak noted that audiences now visit theatres primarily for grand spectacles or completely fresh experiences. According to him, feel-good and message-oriented films are increasingly finding a more suitable home on OTT platforms. Kayadu Lohar echoed this sentiment, stating that today’s audience is far more discerning. With the rise of OTT, she said viewers can no longer be impressed by generic labels like “action” or “entertainment,” adding that honesty in storytelling is what truly resonates with audiences now.

One of the most emotional moments of the interview came when Vishwak opened up about his early struggles in the industry. Before Faluknuma Das, he revealed that he was once signed as the lead actor for a film and worked on it for nearly four months. Over time, his role was gradually reduced—from lead to supporting positions—before he was eventually removed from the project without proper communication. Vishwak recalled breaking down that night but said the humiliation became the driving force behind his decision to direct his own film soon after.

When asked about directors, Vishwak expressed his dislike for those who claim they “made” an actor a star. He praised Tharun Bhascker for his humility, noting that the filmmaker never takes credit for introducing multiple talented actors and always remains grounded.

Talking about Funky, Vishwak revealed that the film is a romantic comedy set between Krishna Nagar and Jubilee Hills. He plays the role of a director, while Kayadu essays a producer, promising a fun, relatable, and urban narrative.

Vishwak also shared details about his next directorial venture titled Cult, which will feature around 150 new actors. Calling it his best work so far, he expressed strong confidence in the project.

Rajpal Yadav Surrenders at Tihar Jail in Cheque-Bounce Case

Actor Rajpal Yadav surrendered before the Tihar Jail authorities at 4 pm on Thursday after the Delhi High Court declined to grant him any further relief in connection with multiple cheque-bounce cases filed by M/s Murali Projects Pvt. Ltd. On Wednesday, the actor had sought an extension of the deadline to surrender, but the High Court refused to entertain his plea.

During the proceedings, Yadav’s counsel informed the court that the actor had managed to arrange ₹50 lakh and requested one more week to clear the remaining dues. However, it was noted that an amount of ₹9 crore is still payable to the complainant.

The case dates back to 2018, when a Delhi magisterial court convicted Rajpal Yadav and his wife in several cheque-bounce cases following a complaint by the financier. The court sentenced the actor to six months’ imprisonment, a verdict that was upheld by a sessions court in 2019. Yadav subsequently challenged the conviction in the Delhi High Court.

Yadav’s counsel argued that the financial distress arose after a film produced using funds borrowed from the complainant failed at the box office. In June 2024, the Delhi High Court had temporarily suspended Yadav’s conviction, urging him to take “sincere and genuine measures” to resolve the matter amicably with the complainant.

However, on February 2, the High Court refused to grant any further extension, observing that Yadav had repeatedly breached his undertakings to repay ₹1.35 crore in each of the seven cases filed against him. The court also directed that the amount already deposited with the Registrar General of the High Court be released to the complainant.

So far, Yadav has deposited two demand drafts of ₹75 lakh each with the Registrar General. With no further relief granted, the actor surrendered as directed by the court.
