Roshan Kanakala’s Mowgli is now available for streaming on ETV Win and Amazon Prime Video in all languages. Despite struggling at the box office following its December release, the film is now accessible to a wider audience online. Backed by People Media Factory, Mowgli faced tough competition at theaters, clashing with Akhanda 2, which affected its commercial performance.

The film follows the story of a rebellious young man, played by Roshan Kanakala, who is raised in the wilderness. His life takes an emotional turn when he falls in love with a hearing-challenged junior artist, portrayed by Sakshi, exploring themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery.

Venu Yeldandi Faces Social Media Backlash Over Temple Photos

Share

Director Venu Yeldandi, who earned widespread acclaim with his National Award-winning film Balagam, has recently found himself facing criticism on social media. The director had earlier received positive responses following the release of the first glimpse and title announcement of his upcoming film Yellamma. His light-hearted social media exchanges with the film’s lead actor and composer Devi Sri Prasad also drew attention and appreciation.

However, the positive buzz took a turn after Venu Yeldandi shared a few pictures on X from a temple location in Telangana. In the images, he is seen wearing shoes while standing within the temple premises, which sparked criticism from several users. Many questioned the appropriateness of wearing footwear at a religious site, stating that it hurt religious sentiments.

As the trolling gained traction, members of the film fraternity came forward to offer context. They clarified that Yellamma is currently being filmed at the location and that, during shoots, electrical wiring, lighting setups, and other technical equipment are often laid across temple floors. For safety reasons, wearing footwear in such situations is a common and practical measure. Even so, some felt that sharing such images publicly could have been avoided, considering the sensitivity surrounding religious spaces.

Despite the online controversy, the shooting of Yellamma is progressing steadily. The film stars Devi Sri Prasad in the lead role, is directed by Venu Yeldandi, produced by Dil Raju, and is reportedly being made on a grand scale.

Sudha Kongara Reveals Missed Cameos in Parasakthi

Share

Director Sudha Kongara’s much-anticipated film Parasakthi hit theatres on January 10, 2026, but contrary to expectations, the film failed to make an impact at the box office. In a recent interview, Sudha opened up about several creative decisions that never made it to the final cut, including plans for high-profile cameo appearances.

Sudha revealed that she initially envisioned Parasakthi featuring prominent actors from different film industries, similar to the cameo-driven approach seen in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer starring Rajinikanth. As part of this idea, she even approached Abhishek Bachchan for a special appearance.
“During the early stages, I wanted actors from respective languages to portray historical figures in the film,” Sudha explained. “We planned to include several personalities associated with the anti-Hindi movement, and I did reach out to Abhishek Bachchan for one of those cameo roles.”

The director also disclosed that Vijay Deverakonda was her first choice for an important cameo role that was eventually played by Rana Daggubati. “A long time ago, I approached Vijay Deverakonda to play Michael Reddy, but he was busy shooting for Kingdom at the time,” she said.

Following Sudha Kongara’s revelations, Vijay Deverakonda’s fans reacted strongly on social media. Many expressed relief that the actor did not take up the role, pointing out that Parasakthi underperformed at the box office and that Rana Daggubati’s cameo failed to leave a strong impression. Fans felt Vijay had narrowly avoided an unimpactful appearance in a film that did not resonate with audiences.

Tina Sravya Apologises for Medaram Jatara Controversy

Share

Matters related to God and faith often turn highly sensitive, and even an unintentional misstep can spark serious controversy. A few months ago, an anchor faced severe backlash for her comments on Tirumala prasadam, with the criticism continuing despite her apology. Now, young actress Tina Sravya has found herself at the center of a similar controversy.

At the Medaram Jatara, a centuries-old tradition involves devotees offering jaggery equivalent to the weight of their children as part of a sacred vow. However, Tina Sravya reportedly weighed her pet dog and offered jaggery of the same weight to fulfil her vow, an act that triggered widespread outrage and criticism.

Many devotees questioned how a religious vow could be performed in the name of a pet, stating that the act hurt their religious sentiments and disrespected the deeply rooted traditions of the Medaram Jatara and tribal customs.

To prevent the issue from escalating further, Tina Sravya issued a prompt apology. She explained that her 12-year-old pet dog had undergone surgery for a tumour and, during that difficult phase, she had prayed to Goddess Sammakka for its recovery. After the dog recovered as hoped, she went to Medaram to fulfil the vow she had made.

Tina clarified that since the vow was taken for her pet, she offered jaggery equivalent to its weight, emphasizing that her actions were guided by devotion and love, with no intention to insult religious beliefs or hurt sentiments. She also admitted that she later realized her act went against the established traditions of the Medaram Jatara and tribal practices.

Expressing deep regret, Tina apologised to devotees who were hurt by her actions, assured that such a mistake would not be repeated in the future, reaffirmed her respect for religious traditions, and requested everyone to put the controversy to rest. With her apology and clarification, the issue can now be considered closed.

Mogudu Teaser: Vishal’s Dual Shades Grab Attention

Share

Tamil director Sundar C has once again teamed up with Vishal for his new film Purushan, titled Mogudu in Telugu. The project was launched quietly, but the recently released title teaser has quickly grabbed attention with its unexpected twist.

The teaser showcases Vishal in a cleverly deceptive role. At first glance, he appears to be a soft-spoken, obedient husband — managing household chores and welcoming guests with a warm smile. However, the mood takes a sharp turn when a group of goons confront him inside his own kitchen. What follows is a striking transformation, revealing Vishal’s hidden, action-packed persona. This sudden shift from a calm family man to a fierce fighter forms the core hook of the teaser.

Comedy plays a significant role, with Yogi Babu providing entertaining moments as a television serial actor who underestimates Vishal, only to be left stunned by his true nature. Tamannaah appears as Vishal’s wife, adding charm to the family setup and contributing to the film’s lighthearted moments.

While the premise feels familiar, the teaser hints at enough mass appeal, humor, and action to keep audiences engaged. Hip Hop Tamizha’s energetic background score enhances the impact, though the teaser does feel slightly stretched. Overall, Mogudu promises to be a routine yet crowd-pleasing entertainer aimed at both family audiences and action lovers alike.

Swayambhu: Nikhil’s Mega-Fantasy Epic Faces Release Delay

Share

After the massive success of fantasy-driven films like Karthikeya, Karthikeya 2, and Karthikeya (yes, the franchise continues to impress even at the Bollywood box office), Telugu star Nikhil has firmly established himself as a bankable hero for epic fantasy movies. While some of his recent projects like 18 Pages and Spy didn’t meet expectations, Nikhil is now gearing up for a grand cinematic spectacle — the mega-budget epic Swayambhu, which has been in production for quite some time.

Initially, Swayambhu, directed by Bharat Krishnamachari, was slated for a pan-India release on February 13, 2026. However, pending Visual Effects work has reportedly pushed back post-production, and the film is now expected to release either this summer or in mid-2026. While the makers are yet to officially confirm the new date, insiders are confident that the wait will be worth it.

Nikhil has dedicated nearly two years to this project, honing his skills in stunts, horse riding, and other fantasy-epic preparations to bring authenticity to his role. Close associates, including filmmakers who have directed him in past blockbusters, claim that Swayambhu has turned out exceptionally well and is destined to be a grand blockbuster, irrespective of its release date.

The film stars Kannada beauty Nabha Natesh as the leading lady, with music composed by KGF fame Ravi Basrur, promising a larger-than-life cinematic experience for audiences everywhere.

The Telugu supernatural thriller Shambhala has surprised OTT audiences by arriving earlier than expected on the digital platform Aha. The film began streaming on January 21, a day before the officially announced date of January 22, creating a buzz among viewers—especially for those who missed watching it in theatres.

Shambhala stars Aadi Sai Kumar in the lead role and marks a significant milestone in his career. After years of waiting for a strong hit, Aadi finally achieved massive success with this film. Released during the Christmas season, the movie exceeded expectations and earned over ₹25 crore at the box office, a remarkable feat for a content-driven, small-budget project.

Set in a village named Shambhala during the 1980s, the story takes a gripping turn when a mysterious meteor falls from the sky, disrupting the peaceful lives of the villagers. Soon after, strange incidents and shocking murders begin to unfold, creating a tense conflict between science and blind beliefs. Aadi plays the role of Vikram and has been widely praised for his intense and convincing performance.

Directed by Yugandhar Muni, the film also features Archana Iyer and Swasika in important roles. On OTT, Shambhala is available first for Aha Gold subscribers starting January 21, while regular subscribers can watch it from January 22. Trade experts predict that the film will perform well on digital platforms too, as the thriller and mystery genres continue to resonate strongly with OTT audiences.
