Why Avatar 2 Could Not Reach the Massive Expectations?
![]()
Cult Classic Avatar is the best example of director James Cameron’s cinematic brilliance. With the magnum opus, the veteran director took movie lovers into another world. The science fiction film became the highest-grossing film of all time and it took around 20 years to break the massive award.
Such was the impact Avatar created. When the makers announced the sequel for it the expectations were very high. The trade analysts predicted that Avatar: The Way of Water will also pull off a similar record in collections and set the box office on fire.
But the Avatar sequel fell short of reaching the massive expectations and it could not see good collections as expected. It’s been five days since the film was released worldwide and the collections stood at $500 Million. Though the digits are huge they are less given the hype and craze around it.
The sequel did not get the ideal start due to the early premiers. With the critics giving mixed reviews, the collections did not get a fiery start. Looking at the mixed talk the movie lovers did not show that much interest in watching the film. The mouth talk was also a mixed one
Despite getting mixed talk Avatar 2 was lauded for the VFX work which took us into the world of Avatar beneath the deep water. The James Cameron’s directorial could not bank on the weekends and get good collections. However, the film is heaving a steady run at the box office on weekdays as well.
Talking about India in particular, Avatar 2 was expected to break the records of Marvel’s Avengers: End game. But it looks like the film has to do something great to achieve that. This generation of youngsters doesn’t know about Avatar and this might have impacted the Avatar 2 business.
As the festival season is fast approaching and we have two big occasions like Christmas and New Year, the film might see good growth. Though the film cannot join the elite list of films that collected over a massive $2 Billion, the film might be another good project for the director.

Asian – Dil Raju Office In Ceded!

It looks like the tug-of-war between distributors is getting bigger. In Nizam, Sasi who belongs to the Ceded area started an office in association with Mythri Movie Makers. They are the ones who are distributing ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’.
Under such circumstances, people who are distributing in Nizam and Andhra regions are collaborating with others and starting offices in the Ceded area according to reports. A meeting has been apparently held on Tuesday morning and some bigwigs have reportedly participated in it.
There are discussions going on about Dil Raju/Sirish, Asian Sunil and a few others forming a syndicate together, therefore, starting an office in the Ceded area. Till date, no one has focused on business in this region. Trade experts say that Andhra and Nizam business is different from Ceded business. Knowing the numbers from the Ceded area is quite tough as there will be more third-party sales and district-wise sales.
Now Dil Raju and Asian Sunil are trying to give competition to the existing big shots in that area. UV Creations people who are close to Dil Raju have a good amount of theatres in the Kurnool and Nellore areas. They take up the distribution business for some movies as well. We need to see if they join hands with Raju and Sunil or not.
Will all this become possible? Why are they doing this? Is it a consequence of the Mythri team setting up an office in the Nizam area? Dil Raju said that there are no such ideas as of now.
