Can Tollywood Pull Off 2021 like Finish To December This Year?
The current year is coming to an end and Tollywood fans already started a discussion on how the industry would end the year. The debate on can the industry pull off a 2021-like end was also started. Fans are hopeful that before the Sankranthi season they would see a happy December.
Tollywood got the perfect end year in 2021 as the industry recorded two big hits including a massive Pan-India hit. When Covid was ringing danger bells Akhanda became a hit. Released on December 2nd the Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer emerged as a massive hit that was needed by the industry.
Another hit recorded by Tollywood was Pushpa, starring Allu Arjun. The Pan-India film was a phenomenal hit. After scoring a sensational hit, the Pushpa craze hit the sports world as well. A few cricketers including international players pulled off the iconic beard move.
All this is under discussion as a few interesting films are lined up for release. The December Dhamaka is started by Hit 2, starring Adavi Sesh. The film is the sequel of the Hit franchise backed by Natural Star Nani as a producer. Adavi Sesh already created a niche for himself that he will pick only interesting films. Hit 2 is carrying high expectations.
Nikhil Siddharth’s 18 pages will also release this month. The project is also a much-awaited film as Nikhil is riding high on the Pan-India success of Karthikeya 2. Moreover, the Karthikeya 2 pair Nikhil Siddharth and Anupama Parameswaran are starring in 18 pages which is backed by big names like Geeta Arts and Sukumar Writings.
Mass Maharaja Raviteja is also going to entertain us in December with his upcoming film Dhamaka. For the mass entertainer, Raviteja joined hands with Trinadha Rao Nakkina who is known for making entertaining films. Happening beauty Sreeleela is playing the leading lady in the mass entertainer.
Two other films are also lined up for December release. Vishal’s Lathi will also hit the theatres this month. The star hero has a good market in Telugu and if the film has engaging content, Lathi can emerge as a hit. Nandini Reddy’s directorial Anni Manchi Sakunamule is also gearing up for a release. Superstar Mahesh Babu’s son Gautham Ghattamaneni looks like a very shy and introverted person while Sitara manages to hog all the limelight. But the youngster has another side in him that rarely comes into the forefront. He is a state level swimmer as his mom Namrata once posted and he has now taken part in his first ever theatre production.
In this high school, he played a crucial production in the production of the famous ‘Frozen’. Gautham looked at ease while performing and his accent is quite amazing. His stage play video is attracting a lot of people and fans are calling him as the next generation star from Ghattamaneni.
Namrata posted the lovely video of his son performing and wrote, “He’s not the love expert but he has friends who are GG’s first theatre production at high school… and he pulled it off in style!! Not to mention Frozen’s a family favourite… so this was just so wholesome to watch. Can’t wait to see more of this my boy… so so proud of you @gautamghattamaneni Love you so so much.”
As we all know, Gautham acted in ‘One Nenokkadine’ as the younger version of his dad Mahesh Babu. It was a special moment for the fans seeing Mahesh and Gautham in a single frame during the climax. With the current video going viral, there are a lot of people who think that the youngster can take the legacy forward if he is interested.
One Year For Epic Akhanda
The mighty combination of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu joined hands for Akhanda which is a sensation hit. The mass entertainer showed Nandamuri hero in a never before avatar which was loved by one and all. Akhanda once again proved Telugu Cinema’s glory overseas with a resounding hit at the box office.
The mass entertainer completed one year of its release. Production House Dwaraka Creations remembered the mass hit on the occasion and recalled its sensational success. Dwaraka creations thanked one and all for making it a success.
Akhanda is special not just the Nandamuri fans but for also Tollywood fans. When the industry faced a tough time with the Covid emergency and many had doubts about whether movie lovers will come to the theatres to watch films amid the Covid scare, Akhanda gave a breath to the industry.
The Balakrishna starrer not only scored a big hit but also gave big hope to the industry that movie lovers are ready to come to theaters to watch films if we can offer entertaining content.
In all the places where it was released, Akhanda saw huge success. Overseas as well it saw huge collections. The Balakrishna starrer became career biggest hit in his career. In a few centers in Krishna district and Rayalaseema region Akhanda finished 50 days.
After a very long time, the Tollywood industry saw films that completed 50 days in theatres. Akhanda brought that era again to the industry. After Akhanda was released in OTT the northern audiences loved it and expressed their dissatisfaction with missing it in theatres.
As another feature in its cap, Akhanda was screened at the 53rd International film festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa. Team Akhanda Nandamuri Balakrishna, writer-director Boyapati Srinu, and producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy attended the event and graced the screening.
The mass entertainer will also have a sequel. Recently, Nandamuri Balakrishna said that the story for the sequel was locked already and the shoot might start soon. This took the expectations of the sequel to the next level. Akhanda was released on the 2nd of December 2021. Akhanda marks the third collaboration of Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu after Simha and Legend. Pragya Jaiswal played the leading lady.

Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel’s daughter Mumtaz Patel spoke to the media after casting her vote and spoke heavily about Modi. Stressing the fan following and popularity the Indian Prime Minister has, Mumtaz Patel endorsed Modi.
‘No doubt Modiji is a very strong personality, he has a very huge fan following. He has a following and I cannot deny that, we all agree to this,’ she said speaking to a popular news outlet.
The BJP supporters are saying that Mumtaz Patel’s comments talk about the winning chances of the party in the elections and are saying we can understand the impact BJP can make as opposition party leader’s made these comments.
Congress was never a strong force in Gujarat for the past three decades. Though Congress used to win elections in other states, BJP made the state a strong force. We cannot expect the grand old Congress coming to power or giving tough competition to the BJP.

Balakrishna interview Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and Lokesh in the first episode and followed it up with celebrities like Vishwak Sen, Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Sharwanand, Adivi Sesh, Ex CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, former speaker Suresh Reddy and Radhika Sarathkumar. After taking a gap for a week or two, Balayya is back with a new episode.
He is bringing Tollywood’s senior and the most influential producers Suresh Babu and Allu Aravind. Along with them, Raghavendar Rao and Kodanda Ramireddy will also be seen in this video. The promo has been released and it is quite fun filled. Balayya seems to have asked some interesting questions too. When Raghavendar Rao was present, Balayya and the two big producers made fun of his fantasy with fruits on heroine’s midriffs.
When Balakrishna asked why Aravind did not make a film with him, the ‘Geetha Arts’ producer stated that he is waiting for a perfect story so that Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna can work together under his banner. Balakrishna claimed that it would become a pan-world film. While it was said in a light-hearted manner, fans are really hoping that some talented writer comes up with such a script so that we can see both the matinee idols in a single film especially in the latter phases of their career. They had a classic rivalry over the past three decades, it would be a perfect ending to see them together in one film and every Telugu movie lover is waiting for it.
We need to see if it happens or not. On the other hand, Balakrishna seems to have asked some controversial questions to Suresh Babu and Allu Aravind. The answers will be known once the complete episode comes out.
