‘Kantara’ Occupies The Top Spot & Beats ‘KGF’!

It is without a doubt that ‘Kantara’ is the most successful film in recent times. This movie which was made on a budget of 15 crores ended up minting more than 340 crores and it is still getting decent money from all over the country. It was a straight Kannada film at the beginning but it became popular in other parts too and started collecting big in the South as well as North.

Till date, this super hit film got over 70 crores in the Hindi market and turned out to be the biggest Kannada film after ‘KGF’. Rishab Shetty’s movie is expected to collect more than 100 crores in North India and it already minted over 40 crores in the Telugu states. No one expected this movie to become such a big success but the movie’s craze increased rapidly after the release.

Now, the movie ended up being the All Time Highest Grossing film in Karnataka. The movie beat the collections of ‘KGF Chapter 2’ in Karnataka state and emerged to the top spot. While ‘KGF Chapter 2’ slipped to the second place, the first chapter stands in the fourth place. Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film ‘James’ stands in the three place while ‘Raajakumara’ occupied the fifth spot. While ‘KGF’ and others are made on a grand budget, ‘Kantara’ is a regular film with arrived with decent expectations but nothing more. The rave reviews and universal public applause worked in advantage of the film.

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself, this movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur. Music is composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath while Aravind S Kashyap is the cinematographer. Pratheek Shetty and KM Prakash are the editors and action is composed by Vikram Mor.

Puri and Charmee Grilled For Long Hours By ED Sleuths?

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) show is in good swing in Telangana. The agency which is probing the alleged Casino row recently grilled the brothers of a Cabinet Minister allegedly. While the development is in the news still the ED is believed to have grilled a famous Tollywood director and the questioning went on for a few hours.

As per the information Dashing director Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur were grilled for around 10 hours on the Liger film. To check with the allegations that a few politicians invested in the film the ED officials grilled the duo. What is the source of income was the main point probed by the ED.

Media reports say that the ED officials grilled the dup on the source of income that went into making the film and the concerned bank accounts are being checked reportedly. One wonders what questions Puri and Charmee might have faced during their stay at the ED office.

It is said that Puri and Charmee reached the ED office based on the services they received two weeks back asking them to be present before them for questioning. Reacting to the notice they reached the office and faced questions. Reports say that the questioning sessions might go on for a few days.

Liger is based on a big budget as per the reports. Despite this, it emerged as one of the big disasters in Telugu in recent times. Puri and Vijay Devarakonda faced the biggest flops in their careers with the sports drama Liger.

The ED found a big link in the form of Bakka Judson who is said to have told the investigating officers that a few politicians are making investments in a few institutions and films. Based on this the ED sleuths have reportedly asked Puri and Charmee about the money that went into Liger.

Sports drama Liger tells the story of a braveheart from the slums who goes on to represent India in the Mixed Martial Arts(MMA) event. Puri Jagannadh helmed the film which is shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages and released on a Pan-India scale. Ananya Pandey played the leading lady.

Vijayasanthi: Again Angry… Again sulking

Actress-politician Vijayasanthi is sulking once again. Now in the BJP, Vijayasanthi is said to be unhappy at not being given importance in the party. She is said to be largely keeping to herself except for an occasional statement or speech against the ruling TRS. She is said to be expressing unhappiness at the way Telangana party president Bandi Sanjay is ignoring her.

Vijayasanthi did not campaign for the party candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy in Munugode bypoll. It is not known whether the party has not invited her to campaign in Munugode or she herself stayed away. But, she did not visit Munugode even once. After all, Rajagopal Reddy is known to her even from her Congress party days.

Vijayasanthi is said to be upset with Bandi Sanjay completely ignoring her. Recently, she attended the BJP-sponsored birth anniversary of legendary warrior Sarvai Papanna Goud. Though she was invited onto the stage, she was not allowed to speak. Bandi Sanjay, who was present on the stage, too completely ignored her presence. This has greatly upset her.

Vijayasanthi began her political journey with the BJP and later left the party to form Talli Telangana party. Later, she merged her party into the TRS and became the party MP from Medak. After being ignored by KCR, she joined the Congress Party. She remained in the party for several years and was even the chief of the partyâ€™s campaign committee. Then, she rejoined the BJP recently. But, she is said to be unhappy even in the BJP.

Promotions Finally Begin for Nikhil’s ’18 Pages

After a massive success like ‘Karthikeya 2’, young and charming hero Nikhil Siddhartha is working on two interesting projects. While one film is a complete action movie titled ‘SPY’, the other one is ’18 Pages’ which has been in the making for a really long time. The first look poster of this movie released even before ‘Karthikeya 2’ but it got postponed due to multiple reasons.

It looks like the makers are finally getting the promotions started. The makers have officially announced that the first single titled ‘Nannaya Raasina’ is getting released on 22nd November. Nikhil and Anupama Parameswaran who are the hero and heroine in ‘Karthikeya 2′ will be romancing once again in ’18 Pages’ too. It is a complete love story and the posters which were released till date got a very good response.

The makers released a lovely poster that has Nikhil reading a book while sitting in a metro train while Anupama is looking gorgeous with free-flowing curly hair even in while she is upside down.

Produced under ‘GA2 Pictures’ by Bunny Vas, ’18 Pages’ has Sukumar’s banner attached to it since he wrote the script. Palnati Surya Pratap who made ‘Kumari 21F’ earlier is handling the megaphone. Gopi Sundar is the music composer while Navin Nooli is the editor. The movie is all set to hit the screens on 23rd December. We need to wait till the trailer comes in order to know more about this interesting romantic comedy written by star filmmaker Sukumar.

‘Meet Cute’ Trailer: Endearing, Absorbing & Emotional!

After impressing the audience mightily with the teaser, the team of ‘Meet Cute’ has unveiled the trailer of this anthology. It will be streaming on Sony LIV from 25th November and the trailer said many things without revealing a lot. While the teaser introduced all the lead characters and showed the rollercoaster emotions, the trailer offers us much more.

Natural star Nani lent his voice to the trailer and he is the one presenting this anthology. He explains what ‘Meet Cute’ which is what happens when two strangers meet accidentally, such cute situations, the conversations that they have, and a memory that will last a lifetime. The trailer is a perfect mix of Love, Anger, Hope, Fear, Surprise, Heart Break, Trust, and Happiness.

The big message that the anthology transports is we only fight with those we love, for what we love. The tinge of contemporary romantic drama touches our hearts. Every story has its own significance and is very relevant to the youth of this generation, whereas the elders in the series are a bridge between two generations. We get to see some fascinating urban love stories and varied emotions between different lovebirds.

Deepti Ganta seems to have made an impressive debut as both a writer and director. The production values and art work are on point. This series has a long list of noted actors playing key roles. While Satyaraj and Rohini stand as the main pillars, a lot of promising talent like Adah Sharma, Varsha Bollamma, Akanksha Singh, Ruhani Sharma, Sunaina, Sanchita Poonacha as female leads and Ashwin Kumar, Shiva Kandukuri, Deekshit Shetty, Govind Padmasoorya, and Raja can be seen in this project.

The cinematography is by Vasanth Kumar, while the music is by Vijay Bulganin. Garry BH took care of the editing. Avinash Kolla is the production designer. The exceptional output is the result of the fine teamwork of all these technicians. Prashanthi Tipirneni is producing “Meet Cute” under Wall Poster Cinema.

Superstar & Megastar To Lock Horns In April?

It looks like Megastar Chiranjeevi is making sure that his films compete with big heroes every time. His ‘Godfather’ released on October 5th which is the same release date as Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’. As we know, the Sankranti season for 2023 is going to witness a huge battle between Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. While Chiru is releasing his ‘Waltair Veerayya’, Balayya is arriving with ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ at the same time. The entire Tollywood is waiting for this battle.

The latest we hear is that Megastar is all set to lock horns with superstar Rajnikanth in April. The ‘Khaidi’ hero is working on a movie named ‘Bholaa Shankar’ under Meher Ramesh’s direction. Keerthy Suresh will be seen as the hero’s sister while Tamannaah is reportedly the heroine. It is a remake of the super hit Tamil film ‘Vedhalam’. There are no high expectations on this movie from the fans.

As it is aware, superstar Rajnikanth’s upcoming film ‘Jailer’ is arriving on 14th April according to reports. ‘Doctor’ and ‘Beast’ fame Nelson Dilipkumar is directing this movie while Sun Pictures is bankrolling it. Happening music composer Anirudh Ravichander is working on this project and there are good expectations on this film.

Rajnikanth has been struggling to score a super hit in Telugu after ‘Robo’ and Megastar too is yet to give a blockbuster after his comeback movie ‘Khaidi No 150’. Movies like ‘Sye Raa’ and ‘Acharya’ did not meet the expectations while ‘Godfather’ ended up with minor losses. He pinned a lot of hopes on ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and his fans are not at all confident about ‘Bholaa Shankar’. We need to wait and see if Megastar and Superstar really compete with each other in April or not.

She added, “We say out somebody else’s words, we are working on a script that is written by someone else, we are lip-syncing and singing songs that are in someone else’s voice. We’re dancing steps that are choreographed by somebody else. We are doing marketing, where questions are asked by somebody else. We are dressed by somebody, hair and makeup are done by somebody. So what am I doing? So my job only comes in between action and cut. Those 30 seconds of a scene, is where I come in. And then when I talk about the movie etc. So I have a very limited role.”

Coming to her future projects, Priyanka will be seen in a romantic drama ‘Text For You’ opposite Sam Heughan. She is also part of the Hollywood web series ‘Citadel’ alongside Richard Madden. Priyanka is going to be seen as spiritual guru Anand Sheela in ‘Sheela’ and it is going to be released on Amazon Prime. She is also acting in ‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ opposite Chris Pratt and ‘Jee Le Zara’ under Farhan Akhtar’s direction. Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif are also the leads in this interesting project.
